Last night in LA some dude was begging everyone for money claiming he was a "new player". Ummm, ok, I gave him 100g and shouted "merry Xmas!"
It feels kinda wrong bragging about your charitable deeds somehow.

Not that this is anything special but I have.....
1. On a regular basis traveled to beginning areas to help low levels complete diffcult missions, yaks bend, villany of galrath, captured son etc.
2. Have bought someone who asked for help all the materials for their first set of armor
3. Regulary take all my drops that I dont need (non max etc) from Cantha (amber, celestial, crenualted swords) and go to beginning areas of tyria and give them away.
4. Trade in all my extra "collectable drops" and trade them in to collectors and give away the collectors items to low levels.
5. Given everyone in my party a candy cane so we could finish the final assault mission in sorrows furnace (almost all were 60 dp)
I think its important to make sure beginning low level players have a good experience and get help. i urge them to join a guild and tell them that this is the type of help they can get from guild mates. When people thank me I just tell them that when they reach level 20 they have to help others out.....Pay it Forward...

I once gave a guy who was asking for 10g(he had 90g) to buy a rune for his new armor. I ended up giving the guy 2k..
I never received a simple Thanks or Thank you. Not even a "ty"

Someone at the Forgemaster only had enough money for his armour, but he was 2 obsidian shards short from buying it. I gave him a couple for free. He was so thankful that when we got out he paid me for them anyway, but it's thought that counts.
Also done things that everyone has, like helped teams with my monk when I happened to be passing through a mission I'd already done and they were in desperate need of help. Or given away stuff like bags and runes of holding to clearly new characters. Ran some people for free when I was bored as well.

Some guy was asking for 25k to help get armour, I gave it to him and he ran off and ignored me? Does that count?
Everynow and then I MM low levels through the Ascalon missions, and give money to whoever needs in it the Shing Jea monastery.
When I ferry people to Urgoz's warren, I get alot of Pms asking what it is and what builds etc. blah blah blah, and those sort've questions so I try to answer as best I can...
But I haven't done the first two for awhile so yeah, I'm not a huge "charity, spend all my time helping the noobs" kind of guy but I don't disregard new players as I know what it's like to not know what's going on or to be in dire need of new armour/equipment to survive.

With my monk, I did the one thing that I considered the nicest thing not only for the players in a recent PUG, but for GW in general....
I let my warriors die during a mission.
Don't judge too harshly before you read more....
I like to help PUGs do Hell's Precipice--mostly because it was a pain when I did it with my warrior; being part of a group trying to get monks to join there is NOT fun. So, when my monk logs in, he generally get's snapped up. No problem. I also have gotten the hang of getting a group through it with myself and a hench protect monk; I just ask that the group be patient, don't get too far ahead, and let me regen after some battles. Well, this one PUG grabs me, and off we go.
We fight the 1st 2 monsters, but I noticed that the warriors weren't fighting the same monster at the same time. Too busy to talk, trying to keep the group alive. The 4 Fists spawn, and it's the same thing--both warriors go after different targets, this time yelling, "HEAL ME! HEAL ME!"
Tactical decision time: go after the 2 warriors, and try to keep them alive, or heal the other 5 PUG members, who are making a concerted effort to fight 1 monster at a time?
No brainer; 1 warrior dies, and 1 barely survives.
The dead warrior, now rezzed, wants to know why I didn't come after him tio heal him. I explain that I'm trying to keep everyone alive, and reminded him that we ARE running with a protect hench. The 2nd warrior said no problem; the 1st warrior says nothing. I also remind him not to worry too much about the DP; he'll lose that when we get the Portal wraiths, provided he doesn't die again.
The rest of the group was Ok with this, as was 1 warrior (the one who didn't die). We get to the next group (Titan, 2 ashen hulks), and our valiant warrior runs ahead again, leaving us far behind; the second warrior fought the same monster(s) the rest of the group fought. Again, no brainer; I let the 1st warrior die, and kept the other group members alive. By this time, this warrior was really mad, and I let him know, again, he couldn't get so far ahead of the group. He then proceeded to flame me out royally.
Many of my monk brethren (lol) would have just left then; I know I didn't need this mission. But there were several people who were trying to finish the mission after trying for the umpteenth time, and I knew the mission could be done with less than a full party, and I just didn't want to leave them like that. So, I gave the warrior a choice; he could go on being Judge Dredd, and when he died, not to expect me to rez him, or he could leave.
He left.
After everyone quit laughing about it, we then proceeded to finih the mission, and I gave the remaining warrior a gold sword from a chest drop there.
Tough love produced one patient warrior, and somewhere in tyria, there's a raving lunatic mad at me....

Back during the Wintersday event I'd sit in Ascalon inside tents and give away stuff to anyone who stopped to look at me and randomly yelled out that I was giving away gold, items, materials ETC. gave away about 100K of stuff over the length of the event
Also recently went back to some Ascalon outposts and gave away all my green bows except for my Dragos Flatbow to lower level Rangers.

Run up and give Gold Weapons to Lower Level Players in Ascalon.
Someone did that to me when I first started and it made my day. Thought how cool was that.. Hopefully, I make their day and they do the same thing..

Gave 50k to a guy that gave me 50g to open storage....I was lvl 2 and everyone was flamming me to go farm it -.-' But he was being nice to me before I gave it to him...

Uhm... everything I do involving random people? No seriously, I'm way too nice to people. Last night I had to run afk immediately and couldn't set myself to away. I came back to some random person who had asked me a question, and then proceeded to insult and berate for not answering them. When I came back, instead of unleashing the rabid dog on them, I spent over five minutes answering their damn question... involving charming animals... and I was on my monk (though do have a ranger)... sitting at Leviathan Pits
And then of course over the weekend I was selling 80 amber at a good deal (Trader sold for 1.2k, bought at 950g, I was selling at 1k). So, someone wanted them. I meet with them and engage trade. They say "Oh, I don't want them, those are amber chunks. I need real amber for my armor." At this point I think my eyes did a complete 360 when rolling. I say, they are real amber, you get armor with these. He then goes on to imply that I am trying to scam him. (eyes still rolling). So I walk him over to the rare material trader, AND I map with him to Vasburg Armory so we can both check what the armorer actually wants. He finally believes me and buys... but, after all of this, he only wants 5. *breathe 1... 2... 3...*
So I guess this more or less falls under the "What's the stupidest/meanest thing someone else has done," but I was nice. I absolutely refuse to give any items away to anyone out of my guild, I have SS's to remind myself to not do that. But I answer everyone's questions that are asked while I'm in towns, even if that means having to pull up wiki (which they could do) to find who carries a particular elite.

I farm Oni...
I farm a lot of Oni...
So I end up with a tons of Oni Daggers and the occasional high req Oni Blade. I tend to give away the daggers to lowbie Assassins on the island. Occasionaly after farming a lot of Ungues I'll give a set to a lowbie Assassin. They're just so pitiful when they spam:
"Are there any daggers better than these starter daggers available on this island?"
I can't resist. Besides... they are in for a world of hurt and hatred when they try to get PUGs on the mainland. They need all the reserve cheer they can get.

After doing my "father xmas" thing for quite a while... i discovered that getting a message of thanks is possibly the most satisfying thing in GW
Destinys Soul
I have playing for about 11 months. After about 2 weeks someone helped me out bigtime with some items and some gold. So ever since then I make it a point to once a month go to Ascolon and find a new player to help. I usually start out by finding someone needing help with a quest. When we go out and do the quest I talk to them and find out what their history in the game is. If they already have a lvl 20 toon, then I move on. If it is their first character, then after we are done I take them back to Ascolon and buy them a set of armor and a decent weapon. If they aren't appriciative of it I stop there. But if they are very appriciative of it I have given them up to 25K in gold before. How much just depends on how thankful they are. I don't expect my butt to be kissed, but you can tell if it really meant a lot to them or not.
Other things I have done....
Helped low levels on lower level missions
Taken people to places to get skill caps. (I have 110 elites capped so I know where several are)
Given away Candy Canes
After I got my FoW armor, whenever I went to FoW, if I got a shard drop I would give it away at the end to whoever I felt had done the best job in helping the group accomplish what we were there for.
Bought Dye's, or gave them away, to people.
I've done other things as well. It's fun to help people. And like they say...what comes around, goes around.

I don't give money. Well, I give 50gp to people opening their storage, but thats about it. Teach a man to fish vs. giving him a fish I guess.
I will answer any question that I can answer though.
I think everyone that would ever post here has helped new people, or something like that so it isnt worth mentioning

Hmm most of my nice things I have done was when I would give advice to people and answer the most annoying questions, I have also given candy canes to a group that needed it many of times, a couple of times even though I knew we were bound to fail. I have also answered any begging calls for someone asking for 1k or lower, I have given people 5-10k. Most recently in tyria I duo'ed(with a guildie) a massive quest for someone.
