Complete Guide to the 2006 Dragon Festival
jarfon
Since he didn't show up right when the last day started, I expect him to show up 2 hours after, since he will be showing every 2 hours.
That means he should be here within an hour.
Just a guess

... Very disappointing, was only a Rujiyo change... although it changed in 1 hour instead of 4...
Dyeane
Maybe they changed the Rujiyo timing so it wouldnt interfere with the emperor as somebody suggested a few posts back?
Kijik Oni Hanryuu
it is now actually defending Tsumei instead of clearing it out, i can almost guarantee next hour will be the enemy breaking though Tsumei and making a full on assault on the monastery, and the same time the emperor is gonna be like "Oh Noez Helpz me, savez me from the 1337 h4xx0R5 Mon573Rz"
Polgara Darshiva

It was fun!
Masks are really cool and dyable in nearly any colour.
Not to mention the aftermath.

I concur. It was fun, though I almost yelled at a couple people for camping my prize spot.
kaya
lol i took 143 prizes.
xxsquirrel
yeah it was fun indeed! I've made some screenies:
This was Kisu speaking
And this is me with mask also dyed it red now
btw: I got the mask out of present, haven't found the collector yet.\
Hmm maybe I didn't got it from present after all, I lost about 250 orbs in a very mystical way .... Not sure to who I talked to, though.

this is mine. Tried the best I could to get the dye to match my armor.
Feminist Terrorist
Squirrel, as long as you were there when the emperor first showed up, you got your mask. Don't need to talk to anyone, it just shows up in your inventory.
RTSFirebat
oh my god, so much new information. But its all added to the guide now.
VitisVinifera
RTS: you might want to add, that for every essence you deliver to a sorceror, you get a jade orb
Feminist Terrorist
I have no confirmation such as screen shots, but the masks can be dyed silver. I saw a monk wearing one and asked him. He said he'd dyed his silver. It wasn't too bad looking.
Shadowcast
Maybe im just growing out of gw but this festival isn't that great..

To sum up the events of the Emperor's visit, in pictures and a short recap of my own experience:
Choo-Choo! It's the idiot train. Idiots because:
It's the emperor they seek, as our friend here makes clear. But wait...
"", indeed! The train has reached its destination afterall! It is I that is the idiot - the Emperor is here at last! And without guards, how courageous our dear Emperor is. I hope for his own safety he brought enough masks for everyone!
And he has! Satisfied, the mobs of excited, though admittedly impatient players are fended off momentarily. The Emperor gives a canned, but certainly heartwarming speech to an unattentive audience of dragon-heads, only to be rudely interrupted by a mysterious and perhaps malevolent disembodied voice!
All seems well, until I happen upon the grisly scenes of multiple fresh murders. What the hell? I investigate:
I don't remember these things being here. Perhaps they're connected to these deaths in some way? I continue close observation:
Well, that explains that. I flee for my life, but thankfully...
The invaders, despite their apparent invincibility and ability to instantly and painfully slay all those they come into contant with, suddenly decide they've been beaten and retreat. I look around the corpse-strewn battlefield, and my head falls with a great weight of sadness...
But no! This is no time to mourn the losses of the many slain just moments ago. Now we celebrate with fireworks, and presents! The death toll multiplies as masked citizens rabidly swarm over the raining gifts.
Hahah, shiny lights! Wee!

Tip:
If you missed the arrival of the emperor and thus missing getting a mask
then you just need to travel to a different district. He arrives 1st at the top
district then 2nd, 3rd etc. Spanish is the last district he vissits.
So if you are in english d48 and missed the arrival you just need to travel to
lets say d80 or a district futher down the list.

Need to find out now: What happens if you DONT win
Shadowcast
If your district doesn't win, they don't get gifts but they get mauled by the creatures instead..
The main site has pics of the masks in all colors I thought...
