A bit sucky on quality but i can't go over 6mb enjoy.

skills use in order as movie:
1. balthazar's aura
2. symbol of wrath (this can be replaced for shield of judgment of you can get ahold of it.. if not this will do)
3. healing breeze
4. bonetti's defence
5. protective bond
6. essence bond
7. balthazar's spirit
8. mending

attributes:
9 healing prayers
14 smiting prayers
14 protection (this must be 14 for protective bond to work right)
9 divine favor
4 tactics

gear:
As for weapon i use the collectors smiting staff 20/20 upgraded with an insightful 5 energy and enchanting 20%.

armor is not needed much for this build you can get the ascalon city armor and upgrade with runes, altho you might wanna get the Ascetic's armor for the extra energy but it is not required.

song used- Go with the flow by Queens Of the Stoneage

Not bad, and you know your comcast account has 25mb storage, not 6. I have comcast also. And if you open up your additional email accounts, you get another 25 mb each account of storage.

Use that extra space to improve the video quality. Besides that and it seems like the same as the other farming video, not too shabby.

Great song btw as a choice. QSA rock!

If I'm not mistaken, they were:

balthazar's aura
symbol of wrath
healing breeze
bonetti's defense
protective bond
essence bond
balthazar's spirit
mending

I'm pretty sure he used a lot of superior runes to bring his health down to double digits, then mending and healing breeze alone can keep him alive forever while protective bond is active. I personally prefer mo/me with channeling, zealots, and divine boon (instead of bonettis, mending and breeze). Much faster killing.

I would imagine that to be more of a hastle without any heals overtime such as mending.. with all the running youl be doing.

That is what I am afraid of as well, even though it is a legitimate build and doesn't fall in the category of 'exploit'. For all that are doing the griffon run, or any other type of farming, it would be wise to keep it on the down low.

Or the next thing you know, they will put a mana-draining squid like they did for Ember Light Camp, near the Flesh Golems. Yeah it's probably too late since most people know about the Griffon Run beacuse of that other topic, which was very inspiring, but for future reference, when ever you find a good farming spot, and feel the need to express your "awesomeness" to everyone, it might be better to surpress it.

No offense meant to anyone.

Yes, because I'm sure ANet, despite being able to pinpoint and ban individuals exploiting certain bugs and going through the same zones over and over again without hesitation, need to read these forums to figure out what areas are being farmed the most.

My main problem with this sort of farming is using protective bond on artificially low max health. I don't believe the skills (protective bond/protective spirit) were intended to be used in that fashion - double digit (or even single digit) max health is just unnatural. I wouldn't mind a nerf on those two skills to include a minimum damage cap to prevent them reducing damage too much.

The enchantment-heavy farming builds already caused ArenaNet to increase the amount of enchantment removers: adding removals on existing enemies, adding many necro/mesmer monsters with removal capabilities to the spawn. This tends to dumb down PvE for non-farmers: enchantment removal is no longer a possibility, but something you have to count on, and PvE is shallow enough as it is - this sort of farming might cause every encounter to eventually be exactly the same. Fun.

Right now it makes farming far less of a challenge for Monks than for other classes, which is somewhat expectable due to the naturally stronger self-preservation capabilities of a monk, but barring enchantment removal Protective Spirit/Bond skew the balance of ease too far towards monks.

Superior Runes bringing Health to 105? That must be a bug, no?

There's more ways of reducing your maximum health than superior runes, it's just the combination of all those things that suddenly makes Protective Spirit/Protective Bond very potent. People use the negative aspect of a balancing mechanic (reduced maximum health) to their advantage in a way that appears to defy the intention of the developers, for the sole purpose of accomodating playing the game in a way it was not designed around.

I think he used the same superior rune twice, it doesnt stack skill wise, but I believe it still reduces his life by 75

5 superior runes x -75 each = -375hp 480hp - 375hp=105hp

Now that is clever, protective bond, low max hp, haha and here i thought hydra runs with protective bond was just a novelty trick to freak out the team.....

Btw: Is that a DP i see there in the beginning ? [i.e lowering HP even more or was that due to failed attempts???]

Btw2: Shouldnt it possible to farm Hydras with Balanced Stance like that too? Considering there are so many these days and they are nicely outside outposts too.....

Did any rares drop? Farming used to be fun when you could actually get good stuff....now it's just for gold. Ettins are the only monsters that consistently drop a rare item.....unfortunately, it's a rune.

this place is in prophet's path right outside augury rock and the song is "go with the flow" by Queens Of the Stone age.

I used 5 superior runes in there you can also use items with -health to bring health but if you dont have access to any a simple death penalty will bring you lower .

well i am the master at this build, if you have a lot of time and want to perfect it, get a protective icon with +1 protection skills(20% chance) [guy is outside lions arch and inbetween asc settlement and LA that gives one for scalps] and get a focus with -20 hp to wear after you cast. for attributes, use 16 prot, 10 smite, 13 healing (for mending to be +4) and divine favor 6 (blessed signet). use the +1 prot icon so you get a 17 protection with that icon and cast protective bond and you will only lose 1 hp when its on you. switch to the focus item with -hp to get your hp to 80 or lower. then which is a really annoying skill to get, get Aura of the Lich to make your hp to 40. you should only take 2 damage and get a regen of 8 life per second. use your smiting prayers and you can kill just about anything and each time you get hit by non mesmer/monk staffs, you get 1 energy. its my perfected build that took forever to get the items for T.T

Just answer me this

How more fun can a game be after you have finished it if you cannot farm?

I mean, there is no purpose to play the game after you finish it, only if you want to have best armor/weapon in game to use in GvG or something but how are you going to get those items? Play the missions over and over to get items? I don't think so.

ArenaNet should never do anything about skills. They created it, tested it and then they released it because they thought the skills were good to go. Now you think they should change them? Don't think so...

If you think that this build is easy, then create the same one and start farming the H*** UP! :P

He was complaining about the use of protective bond to make a character nearly invincible, as it was not intended to be used this way. He was not complaining about farming in general.

Just because skills have been tested and released doesn't mean you shouldn't change them. If a very abusive skill way to use a skill was found, don't you think it would be better if they modified it? And ArenaNet has already made changes to skills in their previous updates, so they obviously think it's fine to change skills after they've been released.

This is exactly how GW is suposed tp be played ... and every other competitve game for the matter ... only dumb people play dumb games in accordance with a dumb "spirit of the game" ...
too bad ANET decides to go the way of reducing fun, instead of reducing grind...

oh and the skills are perfectly balanced (well better then in most games, for sure) - its just that mobs are too dumb to adjust to players, so ANET uses "cheap necro / mesmer mobs" everywhere stragegies to stop farming ... even more fun then the usual "kill mob, move to exactly same mob further ahead" mission design ...
