I almost felt too *yaaaaaaaawwwwnn* to reply, but nevertheless I felt like supporting StandardAI and Gearfire. If you feel offended or by these drawings, take another look at Janet Jackson's tit and start a new "scandal"...
Man, such a fuss about this drawing on a computergame's minimap while thousands of people die of starvation every day, other's step on landmines or engage in new meaningless wars.... some people really should reconsider what matters in life ....

Places like this, as I'm sure you've surmised, are a diversion from the anxieties of real life. Perhaps, in some small fashion, posting rather meaningless drivel (at least according to you) helps people focus themselves better on what really -does- matter.

I use the Automap on the compass to show the recommended route of going around things, but I'm not an idiot who spams white fuzzy lines all over the place and tells them to rush in and circle around... genitalia... :s
I use it mainly to get people past the mission, not to ever "feel good" at all. I only feel good when I kill something hard or complete the mission (e.g. Glint) and after that I just say "thanks" and I move on. That's all there is to it!

Yeah, I mean, you can taut the fact that such drawings are immature, stupid, disgusting, whatever, but you're being equally radical and immature if you do something as drastic as *leave* a group for it. Be a grown up, or at least, pretend to be one. You know what grown ups do? I'll tell you what grown ups do. Grown ups think "Wow, he's a bloody wanker, let me tell him to stop doing that," and the grown up would carry out his thoughts. If the bloody wanker still doesn't stop, then the grown up will start weighing his options. "Hmm, is it really worth it to waste my time and piss off six other people in my team by leaving the party just to spite this one idiot over the internet whom I don't even know and probably will never see again after this mission?" After cheerfully saying outloud, "Nope!", the grown up will happily ignore the wanker, finish the mission, say "gj, nice work, except for Mr. Toulousse Lautrec", and be on his merry way.

People leave missions/quests for all kinds of reasons. Esp. if the team has difficulties working together at first. Or one team member dies and believes that, with a DP of 15, the mission can't be completed.
That's why I still think, there should be a means to identify the painter.

You know what ANet should do? Whenever someone draws on the map, a little icon in the shape of a penis should appear beside the person's name. Wouldn't that just tick you guys off.

It's a matter of civility and respect for other folks and a direct reflection of the maturity content of the artiste.
Perhaps it's a matter of compensation, where drawing on the minimap allows expression of something larger than real life as awarded...

Maybe for some it's the lack of imagination, but GW, after all, is a role playing game.
That means you become, for the time being, the person that you play.
In my GW-life different things matter. Priorities shift. What's important in GW can be utterly meaningless in the "real" life and vice versa.
So to get back to the OP-topic: In my GW-life those 2 inch scribble drawings (regardless wether it's lewd, sordid, racism, nonsens, tic-tac-toe etc.) has a great significance.
In my "real" life however it doesn't really matter, does it?
I mean, my PC could crash, and my "real" life would go on. (I hope
)But this thread is not about our "real" life. It's about (the way I see it) about GW-life.
Call me a looser, but when I do roleplaying I forget that I have a real life, and since addiction-to-the-game is a wide spread phenomena, I just hope I'm not the only one.
