Lol @ new patch... clothes bugged now. In the middle of HoH, recreated PvP character... loaded in with NO armor. At all. Tried multiple times to recreate... no luck. GJ ANet.

Perhaps it has to do with only having to wear one piece of knights armor but still getting the damge reduction no matter where you are hit...?

Yep, closed equipment expliot by outlawing equipment. Everyone to fight naked from now on.

Well the Asclon/Knights set DR was global (affected all other pieces) ppl used knight boots and rest gladiators and the gladiators gotthe DR from the boots. Now the Boots dr only effects the boots if you used gloves it only effected the gloves.

maybe they changed it so ascended only chars can wear droknar armor and in doing so PVP only chars dont count as ascended?

This was an exploit that involved armor. It was, thank goodness, reported to us, and it allowed players to get an advantage that was unintended in the game. So, we closed the exploit. That is all. We did not slip in nerfs. We did not add new features. We didn't take the opp to include a teaser for Chapter 2 or an in-game product placement for Dr. Pepper, either.
Actually, the update had a small glitch and a few new characters founds themselves running around in their skivvies. So we fixed, that, too.

After the "please exit" message showed up ingame, I logged out and went to the Anet updates page, both excited and anxious. I will be honest when I read "closed equipment exploit" I got a queasy feeling in my stomach and thought, "oh great, not again." So I immediately came here to find out the extent of the damage done, and saw your detailed response in this thread, Gaile. Made me feel much better, so thank you for taking the time to say something.
Yet it's kind of a shame though, really... that a good section of the devout player base automatically jumps to the "conspiracy theories" right away (if this thread is any indication). I really wish that it didn't have to be that way... but it is, unfortunately. Hopefully that will change soon... Gaile gives me faith that it will at least.
