Did gwen really die?
Elonis
ok ok so post-searing shows us she supossedly died.. with the brokenflute and all.. but is she really dead or are the devs planing some nice form of chaos for us in the later of the story for release.. i mean come on... to kill her in searing then have her come back and kill us in beta just seems wrong.. i vote for the chaos theory in that she will be a boss later in the game.

Gwen was really a spy. She was planted by the Evil Charr to follow you and trapp you in small tight places of the map while at the same time annoying the F@$# out of you. After she had gathered all the info she could she planted a Micro transmitter to direct satcom data the the Charr super weapon. At least that is one Theory by this rambling madman
Elythor
Yeah, I look forward to see Gwen to come back as Evil Gwen. She has gone mad with the destruction of Ascalone and decided to "punish" the heroes. You get to fight her amid hordes of undead that she commands. Defeating her brings her back from insanity and she becomes a valuable ally in your fight against whoever. Of course, she awards everyone with the dragon sword and superior rune of vigor...
Synthos
Yep.. now shes satans right hand. Didnt you see her burn down the towns a few weeks ago? Her Hellfire retribution was swift and deadly.

You met her in old Ascalon with a broken flute.
You all see a broken flute in new Ascalon and assume she's dead.
Maybe she's off skipping around in the bottom of a hole, complaining about how her flute's broken again and waiting for you to come buy her a new one.

One of the ghosts in the [email protected] mission called Underworld asked about where she is, just saying incase you didn't notice. Me personally couldn't care less

Truly one of the worst things I've ever seen written down.
You are an evil, evil man.
Zarconis
She talked and followed a stranger. She obviously died well before the charr had anything to do with it. I saw that perv waiting by the gate.

Spy? Nope. She's really the devil in disguise. It was her that "seared" ascalon. The Charr were just doing a ritual to call upon her power.
Eejit
Maybe she got transported forward in time and is playing release while I sit here in Beta withdrawl...

"RAAAAAAAH so be it, you are now in the charr army"
"YAY!"
25 years later, Gwen comes back as Charr army commander and kill us all...the end......
that sounded a bit lame for some reason.
Manderlock
She was pissed at all of us heros, for letting the city fall. Thats why she sent the infernal worms to atack.
funbun
Or maybe she's just dead.
Ginko
I see all of you squabbling men here while Gwen is gloating in her realm high upon the Shiverpeaks. We must fight this fiend.

I definately think they are going to do something with gwen. Shes quite the celebrity now in GW hehe.. Even Jeff Strain was interested in the love hate relationship of gwen.
funbun
I just think it's too predictable to have her a Satan right hand then she come around to be a good guy. That's just old.
Just let her stay dead. Thus fueling your rage to avenge her dead. (which is old, too)

How, about this. She visits you as a spirit and help you along your quest.
Manderlock
A GW world without gwen would be a travesty, there i said it.
There is no proff that she even dies, how can you say let her stay dead?

There is no prof. that she is alive. Why do some say she's Satan's right hand?
There is no prof for either. We're just speculating, thus the "no imagination" the other poster said.

funbun

If you notice, shes in the video when the searing happens, she wasnt holding her flute. She probably ran off somewere and left her flute, and it would have been stepped on by those huge charr.
When the game is realeased I'm going to spoil the little bratt then try to find out were she went.
Anyone ever buy the cape for her?

I always leave her in the worst place imaginable hehe...
Like with all the char, I hope they sacrifice or eat her or something
SisterMercy
I hope we never find out. That broken flute adds such a poignant moment to the game that it'd be a shame to defuse that either way, with any other evidence as to if she's alive or dead. Perhaps a meeting with her mother, panicked because she hasn't seen her since the attack and doesn't know if she's OK.
I'm sure she'd want to have the flute.

Bad_Monkey6186
Maybe she has been manifested in the flute?
isten
here's a thought.
She uses a flute, she dissappears..... next expansion, she comes back in a mission where you can 'unlock' bard or something to that effect.
Only problem is that a mesmer and a monk basically cover the areas of a bard, unless they make the bard in a way that is only party enhancing, or a general AoE type of character.
On a side note, I noticed that the more flowers I give her and stuff, the more she seemed to heal me, and for more points. I could swear. I might have been dillusional, but I dunno. Also, never got her the cape.
When GW actually begins, I'm gonna do the whole pre-searing thing in it's entirety. It's really a huge huge place. First beta it came out, i must have spent a good 6 hours just running around doing quests all over the place, and I still had a few I should have done!

This is what really happend to gwen

No one read my post about the perv looking at her. Do I need be absolutely clear what is going on here ?
She is obviously very disturbed. The rest of what I will type here will likely outrage many. However, please understand that the premise of my conjectures are that Gwen is actually an adult. I can only imagine massive amount of abuse rained down on her since infancy. Let's look at what I will call "facts."
1. She is a needy person.
2. She gleefully talks to strangers, but even worse...
3. She willingly follows strangers.... to pretty much wherever they go.
Ok, that's the obvious stuff.
Now the not so obvious. She's looking for her "broken" flute. I believe Gwen to be suffering from a permanent state of childlikeness. She is likely in her 30's but with the mind of a child. Again, there's a pervert over there in the corner known only as the Ascalon Guard.
Notice how when you give her the flute it does satisfy her. She might be looking for something else, perhaps another flute. Oh and don't even think of the whole little red robin motif going on here.
I'm really sick to my stomach now. I think that GW deserves a MA rating after seeing this. ... yuck.

And then there was the whole "stop touching me, that's inappropriate behavior" in the March Beta. That really disturbed me.
