I have been reading about the latter skill quite a lot. I just acquired the first one and wanted to know whether or not the Aura was preferable over the second?

Hmm, I haven't widely tested either of them, to be honest I'm not a brilliant Monk player - but they work in different ways.

Aura of Faith improves the amount you heal the Enchanted Player for - so can be quite useful for casting on a hot target such as another Monk, but as an Elite, it reduces other options avaliable to you.

Divine Boon dramatically increases the amount you heal people for, but costs you extra energy every time you do this (turning easily spammable spells such as Orison into energy eaters, if you don't conserve energy well). But you have your Elite slot avaliable for whatever use you wish.

Divine Boon also basically REQUIRES that you be a Monk Primary, otherwise the effect of it is pretty pointless. Aura of Faith can be used by others such as N/Mo or E/Mo healers to balance the loss of Divine Favour.

Hope that helps.

Personally, I like Divine Boon over Aura just because it is not an elite. There are a lot of better elites to use. Like Shield of Judgement, Healing Hands, Spellbreaker and Peace and Harmony.

I've never used Aura, but Divine Boon (along with max Divine Favor) effectively triples your heal power (1/3 from Boon, 1/3 from favor)

there are some good boon builds there are some good aura of faith builds
no absolute best

divine boon cons: -1 regen
aura of faith cons: takes elite spot, only works on one target (but can cast it on someone else every 20sec)
