The letter "G" is banned...

Seriously, this is really stupid (for lack of better words)...

You can no longer have a single letter "G" in your name because they banned it. Example: B I G G E R, Navi G Stormlight, Lt G Max, etc, etc...

This is stupid. Ok, they banned it because they think that the letter "G" is somehow gang related... Why the hell do I care if it is gang related? It doesn't bother me that people like to have "G"s in their names, and I'm pretty sure there are very few people who are offended by the letter "G"... This does nothing but annoy people.

It's ridiculous. If you are planning on banning everything slang related, guess you'll have to ban herb, lil, east, west, south, north, ak, OG, Blood, trees, dank, skunk, white, widow, tag, rags, etc, etc.

This is the dumbest banning of a single letter I've ever seen... 50k says nobody from A.Net will adress this or even look at this thread.

I suggest you change this, as I do not see any reason for it.

Where did you get your information that it was a 'gang' related thing? Maybe they're going to ban all single letter "names" like N O T O R I O U S? Frankly, names like that are annoying anyhow so I say good riddance.

Word the topic into an idea with a title that fits an idea and gives the opportunity for others' responses. The way it is currently worded is more a rant/question than an idea for game implementation.

One question: Is this something new or something that has been IG since release?

This is complete INSANITY! They can't ban only "G". It can't possibly be gang-related though could it? Just doesn't seem possible. Maybe one of the Anet people had a tramatizing experience with the letter "G'. MAYBE the school they went to the letter "G" was worse than "F". That must be it

Not sure if it's new or not, but it's pretty easy to test out yourself. Can't seem to take screenshots in the character creation screen =/

You can't? Well, if you use Print Screen, then you can still alt-tab and paste it into a paint program of one kind or another.

I also find names like T A N K or S T U P I D or L O S E R to be boring and dumb. They just don't fit with the rest of the game.... but I don't care enough to ban the letter G. And I don't really care enough to want to make them stop. I just think the names are dumb.

Actually, I think you can. You just don't get that "URL" to the Guildwars folder message you do when you're IG. I took screenies of my 4 character screen and didn't think it had worked. Then one day, lo and behold, I was in there looking for something else and I found them. If you did the "Print Screen" thing, go check the screenshots folder. Maybe they're there.

Yeah; I took some of character creation, but haven't tried taking any at the character selection.
