I personally think the prices are very fair, Lady Blue Steel has a good reputation and doesn't scam , for 85K you can have her (or him) take you to the point of ascension and you can be playing with a lvl20 and get that money back in no time at all (85K can be made in a few hours) and not worrying about the stuff in-between. The time it takes to grind a new character to that point can be a bit grueling, my personal time is worth more than that. I think most people looking at this service have a character or two that have finished the game and want to try a new build without having to spend all the time, 85K is chump change for most accomplished players.
If it is your first character, I would recommend playing the game through the way it was intended.

Theres another person on this site offering their running service. From Ascalon City to Ascension for only 20K. That's 4 Times Cheaper than how much this runner charges; meaning you can get all 4 of your chars run by him and still have 5k left
Who cares whether or not the prices are fair or not. I'm going with whoever charging less :P

i dont think youre doing anything wrong-in fact you may be doing what was intended by arenanet, some guys just have money and are willing to be rushed--IMO, ill play through the game mission by mission on any char I make it's just more fun that way, true though you don't really make lots of money by doing this but eh...

That's really cheap, Lady Blue Steel has actually offered to refer people to him, since she doesn't have a lot of time. I'm in the same boat as Lady Blue Steel, I don't have time to develop my new builds and just want to play without the grind.

I purchased the "Ascension in Style" package for my 5th character, a Mesmer.
Considering the time it takes to run from Ascalon to Augury, then COMPLETING
all three Ascension missions, the price was well worth it.

Sorry to hear you were scammed by some other runner, Fox. It always makes me mad to hear about that. It is important to use someone with a solid reputation, even if it costs a little more. In answer to a few questions: I do my runs in the evenings since I work during the day, and on weekends, though this weekend I will be traveling.
I do not wear fissure armor, as I don't particularly care for the look; I wear southern shiverpeak collectors armor, with a gladiator's top and an ascelon helm. They are the best looking pieces and look great together (you can see a picture on the first page of this thread). Some people really like the look of the fissure armor, though, so don't be turned off just because I don't care for it.
I don't set times of droknar's forge runs in advance. I will be available in the evenings most evenings, and your best hope is to catch me when I am on-line. If I am set to busy, I am in a mission or trading, or in another run and may not answer you at all, but you can usually still talk to me. You can often find other runners in beacon's perch if you are in a huge hurry, but please be careful: in my experience 75% or so are either scammers or runners who are trying experimental builds or hoping to get lucky with the monster spawns and who cannot make the run every time.

Could anyone please fill me in about what a Run is. I mean, the first thought is that you pay a person to run from spot A to B, with the customer(s) in the party so you get the areas. But, if that's the case then why a comment like this:
A forge run by an exceptional runner is definitely something to see.
The skill of evading enemies is worth seeing or is there soemthing else i'm missing here, sightseeing?

obviously your character gets killed early then you switch to the runners view for the trip until you are rez at the destination

People often ask about the southern shiverpeaks (getting to granite citadel and getting to copperhammer are two popular requests), and I have those amounts somewhere else in the thread just read through looking for my posts. Also, doing the trials of ascension al a carte - here is what I charge, if you have already gotten to the missions: 3K for elona, 25K for thirsty, 25K for dunes. They are all pretty easy for me to carry soemone through, but it is really tricky to carry more than 1 person at a time through thirsty, and either way both missions take a little while even though they are easy. Thirsty and Dunes are the reason my ascension executive package costs so much.
