Get Guild Wars on the 27th!

Havn't confirmed it yet or not, but apperantly Fry's Electronics has struck a deal with ncsoft and arena, and has gotten special permission to sell the full retail version of the game a day early. also if your in washington the renton store may also be getting arena developers for an in-store signing on the 27th as well. again havn't confirmed this, so call your local fry's and ask them about it. Also, I believe that even if they do sell in on the 27th, that you will still need to have purchased a pre-order copy in order to sign on that day. and if you have a pre-sell copy, enjoy the ease of installing the game off the disc, instead of d/ling the rest of it.

Um, so? You could have the disc and retail code in your hands right now, it still won't do you any good before the 28th.

^ lol... that's right. it doesn't matter. wowee. you get to see the nifty box a day early. But we'll all be playing with our beta keys waiting to buy the real thing on the 28th!

but id rather do a 2 minute install of the game instead of a half hour download.
not to mention having a signed copy, and i hear that fry's is getting more pre-sell in just for this, so you can buy the game and the pre-sell on the 27th, install it, and type in your code and not have to d/l a thing.

Where in Renton? I live in Kent, WA and I really wanan get it.

MicroComputers is also advertising that GW will be available on the 27th, so it might apply to most of the big name computer retailers.

Also, I think NCSoft is continuously updating the client software because when I tried to log in earlier today I downloaded several files. Might save you some time to do that every day instead of waiting until the 27th.

EB in Charlotte, NC is also quoting the 27th.

Hmm... I wonder if they're just confused. The EB here in Raleigh doesn't say anything about actually being able to buy it on the 27th.

ALL Fry's Electronics will be selling the game on the 27th!!!

It has also been confirmed that the Renton Wa Fry's Electronics will have arena developers in store for a signing session. As of right now they are not sure when they will be in, they suspect thursday evening sometime. Sounds like it's not a formal event, but rather kinda like a get together type event, so people from the team will just kinda show up whenever they can make it. At least that what it sounds like will happen.

Renton WA Fry's Electronics is located just off I-405 exit 5, (in the old boeing plant parking lot) the store is just on the west side of the freeway. (you can see it from the freeway going south)

He more than likely works for them, because nobody else would really care. Seriously, if you are buying the game a day early, why don't you just get the pre-order so you can play when you get home WITH free items?

i already mentioned getting the pre-sell when you buy the game so you can go home and play a day early, and yes you are correct, you would also get the free pre-sell item along with it.

yea since its street dated its not like most games where it ships on release date and the stores can put it out right when they get it, all the stores will recieve it early cause it ships before the release date, they can put it out early, but they will get fined, its always worth a try calling and see if they ephed up, see if you can snatch a copy. I know best buy ephs up all the time with street dated products.

also unlike movies where if a store puts it out early other stores can not do the same unless they want to be fined, with games once one store breaks the street date, (without consent) its all game so every store can also release it fine free. so id call around the 26th anyway

I pre-ordered online through EBgames and the tracking number for my copy says it's on a truck for delivery today. It was actually shipped on the 23rd. Strange cause that's a Sunday. I'll post back once I get it.

Someone needs to put up a torrent for the client as to prevent a massive strain on the servers for people who'd rather download it.

i was instructed by the asshole at EB games that i can pick the game up on the 27th, but how will i find time to do that when im playing a day early? I guess I'll do it when i pick taco bell up when im hungry.... and stoned....
