Do he was appearently a young man. What do you say to that? Slaves, huh?
From now on I'm going to Ember Light Camp Int Dis 1 when I shou gou jin wuqi!

It's a lot like Riverside Province. There are a ton of monks standing around spouting gibberish symbols. There's only about 3 people in the entire place that is actually doing the mission.

I get the feeling though that they are laughing at me for trying to sell lowly, purple weapons cheap O.o

Do you see a strange, high number of these "gibberish spouting ppl" that come out of Riverside soloing? And have you noticed that 99% of them are either Mo primary or W/Mo? Last thing: did you know that those strange players are there 24/24 and don't need to sleep?
Now THAT is a coincidence, huh?
Aracos79
Just watching the goings-on in Ember Light and Riverside really makes me wonder how hard ANet is going after botters. I'd like to take ANet at their word that they are against it and want it stopped. But when I see the chinese spammers who don't respond to whispers, online for days at a time... I have to aks myself, how hard are they really working on it? Bots are a plague, and a destructive one at that. Something needs to be done, and something PRO-active at that... not nerfing mobs and drops over and over again to make botting harder. No... how about going after THEM instead of the game?
Aniewiel
Sad to say, they're also at Ventari's. It's getting VERY hard to move around in some of the smaller areas because they're so crowded with these....bots or whatever they are.
Ultimate_Gaara
I hardly pay attention to the people around me (except male eles dancing, that gives me a chuckle) so i never really notice anything... perhaps next time i will take a look at it

How do you people refuse to read the topic heading? This is about how you anit-Chinese, who, just becuase you can't speak their language think they are botting.
I've talked to many Chinese people WHILE THEY FARMED. Most Chinese people aren't botting!! Just becuase you see two people sit around and spam that they want to buy gold items for two hours DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE BOTTING OR THAT ALL CHINESE PEOPLE BOT.
I'm going to Lion's Arch DIS 1 and report EVERY person who says the same thing more than three times just to prove my point.
How can you people be so nieve?
These people are NOT BOTTING, otherwise, how could they possibly reply to someone who wants to sell them a gold item? Infact, It's a great way to make money to bring your gold items there and say "chu shou gou jin wupi 100k" and bam, you made 100k O.o

I highly doubt that Chinese gamers who want to sell their legitimately earned items are going to be making trade announcements in Chinese on the American server.
If I switched over to the Euro server and went to the French districts, I wouldn't expect to get too many replies when I hawked my wares.
I'm sure they are capable of saying "WTB gold item 100k" or whatever the translation is.

Most Americans just walk off and dump their Gold Max Damage Short Bow on whoever. What if you could spread out and sell that same thing for 50k? Maybe that's what the Chinese are trying to do, branch out to the larger crowd instead of the International Districts.
Let's face it, China being one of the largest and most influintial nations in the world, perhaps they assume that maybe a few people will know how to speak their language.

Are you even serious? I hope that is ironic. Botters in riverside or ember camp are blatant, and what youre saying makes little if no sense...so chinese people would travel to usa and speak chinese assuming theyre a large country, therefore someone should understand them????

Though in western cultures Japan is MUCH more influential, if one is liekly to learn an eastern language it would most likely be japanese. You govt still isn't exactly friendly and that really hurts on how much influence you have. Unless it is gained my military might China has little influence. At least in the US there has been less and less chinese made goods in our stores (by percentage of volume sold) and of that it's progressivly cheaper disposable items. Too many other places that charge the same as you guys and aren't hostile to us to make telephones, microwaves, and clothes.
Plus, which dialect should I learn to speek so I can be "Chinese"? While you may have a sinlge set of characters when phonetically translating that to a western language you run into the same problem a person speaking mandarin to a min dialect would have.
Sagius Truthbarron
The dialects aren't so diverse that they don't sound the same. If I said "Chu shou jin wuqi" people who knew the same phrase as "Chou shou jin wu qi" wouldn't complain on the differnce. O.o
All dialects of Chinese can aptly communicate with eachother. What, you can't communicate with someone from Kentucky becuase they say "Warsh", "Ain't", "Yellar", "Cellar" and "Crick" instead of "Wash", "Isn't", "Yellow", "Basement" and "Creek"?
Why would you be saying "I want to but gold items" and walking around while you do it if you couldn't respond? That makes no sence at all!
I've never met a Chinese person on here that wouldn't ingage in a conversation.
I think you people should take your American-South Korea anti-comunist views back to 1965. Complete and utter racism.
You call me "naif" for not thinking that every Chinese person is a botter and a slave? Yeah, that makes alot of sence. Next you're going to say we should deport black people to Africa "Becuase they steal!"
How many AMERICAN BOTTERS do you think there are? I've actually seen more people DEFENDING them than I have attacking them.

Thread needs less nationalism.
And I don't care why they're there - if they want to sell/buy items, then they should stay in their own server. It's annoying and pointless for them to be spamming those characters for hours while I'm trying to get a group to do Final Blow.
And it's spelled "naive" or "naïve".

They're paid to watch the bot program work its magic and respond if anything goes wrong/they're caught or questioned by a dev. They are still very much bot farming. I believe there's an article on 1up on it that would explain this very nicely for the uninitiated/unfamiliar, but rest assured, just because there's someone keeping an eye on the bot, doesn't mean they're not farming.

For argumentative sake, all we need to do to nullify your points is by saying you're a liar. But you see, we're actually trying to make you understand OUR points while trying to understand YOURS!
Now, a few things.
1. Whether or not China is influential has NOTHING to do with Guild Wars. As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter which country is influential at all. Being Chinese myself, I don't exactly pride myself that my homeland country makes TV remotes for the world (nor do I see how that's exactly influential either). Lose your ego and loosen up your nationalism.
2. I, for one, came across a lot of bots who won't respond. When they're on in the morning to the afternoon to midnight and still going, that says something and you cannot deny it. The "player" may have irregular sleep patterns for all I know, but I highly doubt that.
3. Also, bots that spam random jibberish in Chinese pinyin and run back out isn't the same as a constant "WTB MAX DMG FIERY DRAGON SWORD." For one, you can't bot with the current Guild Wars trading system, but you CAN bot by running back and forth between the camp and the flesh golems or whatever the hell they're farming.
4. We don't hate the Chinese. We hate bots. However, it's a coincidence that most of these bots are Chinese spouting bots. Think twice when you call us anti-Chinese. For all argumentative sake, I can say you're anti-American because you're not supporting us. But are we saying that? No. Don't rub people the wrong way just because you got rubbed the wrong way.
...and...
5. If the Chinese truly did want to sell their items, why the hell are they saying it in Chinese pinyin? They're only going to be able to sell to others that speak Chinese pinyin. The average English-speaking users are more abundant in the game and there would be a better chance selling to them had the Chinese person said something easy along the lines of "WTS blah blah blah." Not knowing how to speak English is a lie. They'd certainly have to understand it to get all the way to the Ember Camp considering how if you cannot read some of the missions, you cannot make it far. Plus, if they've played through the game and SAW how the communities work, the Chinese should be able to pick up "WTS" as they're not a stupid race.
Calm down and think of your response, PLEASE.
Off topic: Dialects in Chinese are so horrificly different. Look at Mandarin, Cantonese, Fukinese (it's a real dialect), etc. The grammar style's different, too. In fact, you might as well say they are different languages.

Miss Innocent
I don't think that it's unreasonable to assume that the people in the American districts would speak English. I don't know if Latin Americans are on the same servers or not, or if they can get the game at all, but I'm not terribly surprised when I see Spanish or something else. But Chinese? As big and important as China is, most chinese speaking people are in China, and the Chinese that are in America can usually speak English pretty well (even grad students and professors -- at least well enough to say "sell 100k" or whatever).
If there's going to be alot of different servers all on "American", can they be split up by language too? I don't hate them for wanting to play, but it doesnt help either of us if we can't figure out which quest we're doing.

But one thing to think about is the theory that the Chinese circumnavigated the globe. Very interesting, and if true, would impact the world like no one else. I honestly question this theory, but it's not far-fetched at the least to think people visited others around the world before we originally thought they did.
Sagius Truthbarron
The point in saying that China is an influential country was to suggest that maybe they think other people speak their language. I know if I go on a Korean/German/Chinese/Blahblah game I'll say things in Englsish hopinh someone undesrtands me. Perhaps the same is true with people from the second most powerful nation in the world.
Anti-American? For defending Chinese people? Well, all Black Civil rights activists are and were Anti-American, then. According to your terminology, Martin Luther King is a terrorist.
Perhaps we should get the opinion of someone who actually lives in China rather than one who appears to be disdainful of it. For arguement sake, we can just as easily say that you are a South Korean posing as a Chinese person.
How could you nulify my points by simply stating that I am lying? All that would is make you a slanderer without basis.

Frankly, I think the idea of a bunch of chinese companies running a bot business is more hype then reality. The concept of everything on sale in the game or on ebay by botting companies is far-fetched and perpetrated by people who don't understand how hard it is to sell things when everyone else is pushing the same items.
Selling GW items or gold on EBay is like opening a gas station. It's a nickle and dime operation, not a get rich quick plan. Not to mention the hard work you have to put in to show buying from you is more beneficial then someone else. Being a merchant in any MMO is a career.
A post on EBay selling 300k gold doesn't mean a sale. Not when 10 other people are advertising the same thing for the same price. That's the problem, people think just posting a for sale sign means you've sold the item. It takes effort.

Drop the influence talk since that has nothing to do with Guild Wars nor the bots. If China has more influence in the world, good for them. Does that change how many bots there are in the game? No. You're arguing about something language issues and that has nothing to do with influence. France has a minor influence on the world and yet, there are lots of French speakers. And for your information, China is not the second most powerful nation in the world. Why? It's still a second world country. But leave that talk out.
I'm not denying I am a Korean posing a Chinese, but what's that got to do with any of this. But you have seriously placed yourself in a position where you exercise racism to a blind state of fury. You're defending what we've already proven in large numbers to be bots.
And for heaven's sake. Shut up and think before you write. We're not saying you're anti-American. YOU, however, are saying we're Anti-Chinese. (and according to some American texts of long past, Martin Luther King was indeed considered a terrorist, but I'm not one to believe he is) And not only that, what you're doing is still making assumptions on all of us and our beliefs.
EDIT: I'm leaving this argument as this guy is obviously bent on his own points. Proof? Look at what he quoted from my response. One out of five counterstatements and he "countered" it incorrectly. I'm off to bed.

Saying that you could be a Korean posing as a Chinese person was in an effort to point out that there is no way of knowing that I'm lying about talking to Chinese farmers while they farm - as there is no way of knowing what race you are or what nation you are from unless given evidence.

Did I state that ALL of you are anti-Chinese or that you are anti-Chinese? I stated that I "think most of you are just anti-communists" and that may be a liable fact. There are alot of anti-communist people. I'm certainly no communist supporter.

Wow. Am I reading this correctly or is it because it's 3:46 AM that I think this guy completely misunderstood what I said?
You said I called you anti-American, in which I responded with "But are we saying that? No" in the quote. You completely ignored that. Why? Is it to prove a point? Because what's there to prove? Nothing. What's the reason to prove this? There is none. And why do you think that is more important than the botters in Guild Wars? I seriously don't understand your train of thought (or lack of).
Reading those topics means nothing to me because that doesn't change the fact whether or not there are bots. In fact, arguing about this won't change the fact there are bots. The whole reason we're saying all the things we're saying is because we're trying to get you to realize that there are indeed bots.

Ming bu ming ma? |
The links to those topics were for Natuluz who I failed to quote, some 4 posts up.

When you edit posts, it's hard to make an argument AFTER the edit, huh? Seriously, drop the goddamned issue. You're taking a dead horse and beating it.
So will you admit to believing there are Chinese bots or not? That's what I've been trying to get at the whole time, seeing that this is the topic that you started talking about.

My guess is anywhere from 50-90% of the chinese speaking players are botting. They can talk to you while they farm because they are running several bots at once..probably have to put more effort into responding to messages than their "farming". The workers at the botting farms are payed low wages to monitor the bots and pool the money into their master to fuel the ebay economy. All you are doing by talking to them is making their crappy job more of a hassle.. their job is to make their bots not seem AFK. Yes they are trying to buy gold items.."godly" ones... to sell on ebay...

Some of them have even told me their farming builds. Why would a hired employee care enough or know enough to state their build?
Are there American bots? Yes. Are there French bots? Yeah. Are there German bots? Yah. Are there English bots? Yep. Are there Spanish bots? Ci. (There are three major dialects of Spanish, thanks.)
But who gets singled out as being a group of ALL botters? The Chinese. And that's what I'm defending.

What does it matter the allegiance to what country you are in defense of? Sagius said there were a lot of Chinese farmers and ebay sellers and botters. As for botters, I have no idea, but look on ebay. You'll see that most gold is Chinese-farmed. It is not anti anything to mention that Chinese-farmed gold is Chinese.

What good do you thinking defending the bots would do even if they weren't Chinese? And so what if the Chinese are to be blamed? Anet won't go as far as banning all Chinese people from Guild Wars so what do you have to worry about?
(Spanish "yes" is "si" with an accent on the "i", don't try to play smart when there are smarter).
