Hmm, maybe he just did every single quest? I did every single quest up to Ventari's Refuge except the Villains quest and Signet quest, and I'm 19.25.

My friend was 20 at around Lion's Arch by farming Lomar's for drops.

Some people dont' like to rush =)

The level cap doesn't need to be raised at all. It's a game of skill not power. I'm taking my time with it because I don't want to rush through it at all. There's no need when theres so much you can do and see in the game. I only left the original Ascalon City when I reached level 8 because I'd done every quest/mission possible. Now I'm just taking my time with it. I like the idea of a level cap since there's so many power gamers out there.

One of the big attractions on this game is that it's not about how hard you can power game your way through levels. It's not about levels hardly at all. It's about playing your character with the skills you have. This game is about skill, not how much time you spend playing.

I was lucky. I played all sunday for probably 7 hours and managed to get from augury rock to all the trials and completed 2 of the 3. It still felt like pulling teeth

And they should make missions harder for people who only do missions and not quests, I dont see the point in doing missions only just to get fast LVL20
level cap's fine. you get to level 20, and then you start honing your skills, where most games just continue to be boring grinds over and over again. this game tests your skills, rather than seeing how long you've played. where someone with a lvl 99 character on another game could kill everyone, that same person could play GW and find that he sucks balls because he can't play an MMO to save his life, but other games never let him see that due to their complete lack of skill in most cases. granted, games like WoW and EQ do have skill, it doesn't have to be yours. you can get a buddy to power level you until you're too scary to worry about other things in your area.

as was said before by someone else, if getting to level 549687562163 makes you feel special, congrats, you're stupid, go play EverQuest.

I dont get people who keep saying the level cap needs to be increased... I think they jst don't know the deal with the game. After you hit level 20, you exp bar still fills up and you gain skill point. So, even though you max at 20... you still level in a way. Besides, theres 150 skills for each class. You will still be looking for skills. Not to mention better gear and such. I like the game as it is. Its one way they will keep things balanced and still be able to provide new things. So, in short, I disagree. The level cap is fine and it will make no difference if they raise the level cap to 100. This game is not about levels.... its about the skills your character aquires. I really havent even paid attention to my level while playing. If your character has the right skills, you can kill someone way higher than you in level.

I'll say it one more time, because no one has yet responded to my comment before elsewhere...

OK

I don't believe the level cap should ever be raised, and I am perfectly content with how the game was made to test skill and strategy instead of mindlessly grinding your character.

But... PvP.

It's the main reason to play the game. Once you've reached the 'end' of the game, it's all about the PvP. (I know a few folks who won't even PLAY an RP character.)

"and people say getting to lvl 20 is when the game really starts"

I hear this a lot, yet I also hear that you can explore the full game in a matter of weeks. I don't know, how long does the game last. You can babble on about skill and PvP. But really, once you run out of skills to get and new areas left to explore, whats there left to do other than fight against other players, which is fun, but the best times are when your exploring a new area.
