I condensed much of the information in this thread into a one-page, printable, cheat sheet. Like a noob I posted this fact in an entirely new thread.

After collecting the few comments from the other thread, and re-reading everything here I am ready to unleaseh version 0.3 on the GW community.

Keyboard Guide

I hope that after this last Beta Weekend a few things can be ironed out. (i.e. does the 'x' key turn you around?)

This is a work in progress. Any and all comments are welcome

Is there some way of directing your minions?
I'm trying to do the necro mission in the catacombs where you are meant to use your minions to set off the traps, but my minions always want to stay behind me and I end up getting killed in the traps.

Ah yes. You should notice that on several occasions, the corpse is BEHIND the trap. You have to res that corpse and when the minion runs to you, BAM! The trap is disabled.

Yes, I noticed that, but when I tried to cast the spell I stepped forward into the trap

Hey Bill!

If you click on the ground of the location you want to run to, you may freely pan the camera arround without chaning the direction you are running to.
I could not get the auto-run command work, in this beta, though.

datd - thanks a bunch !

i figured out auto run in this weekends bwe, it was the 'r' key. not sure if this will make it into production, but between that, clicking an area in the distance, or double tapping 'w', ill figure it out )

i think
f is now select yourself
z is move camera to look behind you
and x is do 180

also i think it shoul be default to have the party members to be hotkeyed to the numpad thats the first thing I change when I make a monk

There was a checkmark box option in Control setup, that said: "Doubletap forward to auto-run, doubletap back to backflip"(not exact wording, but close). Once you check that box, double-tap W works.

I do not see you to make yourself the leader of a party. Say if you current leader get killed or drops out.

Put "-perf display fps" in your shortcut - without the "s.

like so:
Quote:
"C:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -perf display fps

in that command list, what are the /a, /g, /p for?? are those the shortcuts for chat? im gonna guess /a is to send a msg to all, /g is for guild chat, /p is for personal msgs?? if that is correct, what about for groups?? ... or is /g for groups?? lol either way... wouldnt mind knowing the shortcuts for faster chat and not having to click on each tab i wish to speak in.

Just pressing R once, starts the auto run. Pressing it again stops or pressing any other directional key stops also.

Any Monks out there tired of using their mouse for selecting players?

I have a solution that worked great this last BWE. Since the number pad is not currently in use I used it and assigned it for my party members. So all I have to do now is press number pad #1 for the person on the top of the list or number pad #8 for the person on the bottom of the list. This cuts the time when selecting team mates which in turn keeps them from death.

Same as the other posts go to keyboard setting and scroll down until see party member 1 or group member 1 and assign it a number pad number and save each one.

I'd guess /a = All, /g = Guild and /p = Party, just like the message prompt in-game.

Orbit, I think that's a great idea. That should be the default map.

Also, we should have an option to display party slot numbers next to names like in PvP for PvE groups. It would make healing/buffing and killing hexes much more smooth.

well, i didnt bother trying to find out, i just clicked the tabs, but on each tab i saw funny #, @, !, % symboles, lol so that kinda threw me off. and if those are the short cuts for those 3 chats, whats the short cut for sending a personal msg?

! = /a = All
@ = /g = Guild
# = /p = Party
$ = ?? = Trade
" = ?? = Whisper

Those are my guesses... If you type any of these characters at the beggining of a message (or even before starting one, while playing) it will select the respective message tab. The new trade chat is probably /t and I'm not sure but I *think* you could whisper with /w a few betas ago, but since the in-game prompt changed a little bit (instead of using a comma to separate nick from message there are now two text boxes) I'm not sure anymore...

You mean keybinds.
I don't know how to do those either... I used to play (still do on occasion) Rune. In Rune it was easy to change key binds, and you could do it in game too...
1) Open Console
2) Type "set input [key] [command (to say something it was "say [message]"]"
3) Press enter
