Didn't it say somewhere that the new areas were for 'ascended' characters? Perhaps that will be a requirement to 'get in'? I don't think you will have had to beat the game, however.

That would limit sales it you had to beat the game the play Sorrow's Furnace, so I think that you can just play it.

May it be like a UW FoW sorta thing but with bosses? since maybe you have to be acsended. Who knows. we will all have to wait to find out

My guess is that Sorrows Furnace will be fit in after Iron Mines and before Thunderhead. It makes sense to me that the upper level mine mission that we have would lead to a nice deep mine

The Guild Wars game follows a story line. It would seem probable that the add-on would be an extension of this story. It seems therefore likely that you would have had to have finished the storyline before you could play it. However; supertramp is probably right; that would limit marketing and cash revenue; so i guess probably not.

I'm in agreement. I think this is just going to be a "high end" zone for people who communicate well, and understand how to coincide with eachothers builds. Some of the requirements, I'm guessing, are that you be infused/ascended at the very least. I doubt that you will have to have completed the chapter 1 storyline, because adding more story between chapters 1 and 2 doesn't makes sense. I'm just going to assume that this will be another zone that we can enter that doesn't have any relation to the plot line... or perhaps it could be leading into what is to come?

I think you can get to one from Drok , (isnt that 'shrine' thing with dragon bones new?) and maybe another from The Temple Of Ages , ( you have to be ascended to goto places from there and there are unused shrines that would take us new places)

As far as I know, free updates wont have new storyline (apart from that little stories in the 24 new quests). I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere (maybe in guildwars.com) that. Also, they call the non-free updates "New episodes". That sounds to me like the main storyline will be continued only then.

And, maybe a bit out of the main thread: I tried to search for this (thats how I ended here lol) but its seems a bit complicated (If anyone knows what terms to look for tell me heh). And I thought it doesn't deserve a new thread, so:

Do you think there are lots of people who has ascended & infused characters but not ended the game?; not even reached the Ring of Fire islands?

I haven't, I'm still in Thunderhead Keep mission. I say this because I read a lot more about UW/FoW/Southern Shiverpeaks/Desert than about Ring of Fire.

Anyway, I hope you can access the new areas without beating the game
