Thoughts on SUMMER UPDATE release date

Hi all,

With ArenaNet announcing the release date for the Summer update as the 7th September, I was wondering what people's thoughts were on this?

Do you think it has taken too long to arrive?
Are you glad ANet has taken their time and not rushed through an update?
Are you not really bothered?

well, if i was a player who has been here from a start. I surely would been expecting SUMMER update to hit our puta's in SUMMER. so i might get frustrated a bit.

BUT, im a new player who even hasnt hit the lvl20 yet. so im only WOO'wing for incoming update, thus it doesnt actually bother me when it comes.

SUMMARY: Its a good thing the UPDATE gets thruly checked in and out before release. If it was launched in summertime like "its almost ok version of an update" it woulda been pissin off more people than its released properly checked and balanced, when its READY. Just rushy "gimme everything NOW!" people would yel their rusty panties out, everybody else gets the "delay" ok, understanding that releasing shit is destruction, while releasing GOOD is way to heaven.

It's released the day after my birthday, so I'm happy with the date

Hate to get technical with you guys, but summer doesn't end until the 22nd of September when Autumn begins. As far as I'm concerned there really hasn't been any deception. They made a broad statement for a reason.

If I had paid for it I might have a problem. But since ANet has no obligation whatsoever to produce free content like this, I think everyone who complains about it 'being late' is just a little bit spoiled.

Don't assume the US is the only country that has a summer, this update will arrive exactly when Arena Net originally said it would.

I was never concerned much about the update anyway, I'm still happily playing through the game.

It's not a summerupdate if it comes in September.

Paine... like 7/10th of september is summer... so how is it not a summer update?
And im glad that Anet looks out for us. They are trying hard on stuff that they arent earning money on...

Broad statements are ok, you are right there was no deceptions. But if I heard about a special offer coming this "football season", I would be a little perturbed if it hit Jan 31st, even if it was before the Super Bowl, and thus still an accurate prediction.

No problem though. I work for a living, so summer is no different from fall for me

For those that don't believe September is summer, these are the official season dates;

Perihelion January 2 01:00
Vernal (Spring) Equinox March 20 12:33
Summer Solstice June 21 06:46
Aphelion July 5 05:00
Autumnal Equinox September 22 22:23
Winter Solstice December 21 18:35

In other words, autumn (called fall in the US) begins on 22/09 (09/22 for US). Thus, as long as the summer update appears before Sept 22, then they haven't lied to you.

Well 3 months after GW realease that is good enough. Cant w8 to play, as am returning on the 9th, damn I hate to miss 2 days of this great new area.

Lets get the farm build going, so that when i log on guru you have a perfect thread of how farm Furnace solo



(P.S.... ANET, dont you keep track of time, why didnt you bring it on the 21th of september, that would have been a great summer update and would have gotten the flamers going )
