show me your ... interface
ayb
couldn't find a thread on this already, so here goes: show us how you have your interface set up. simple. and for the love of god lets keep the ss size reasonable, if youre going to insert it in the post.
Xomah of Denyle
Nice!
I use the default one. This one looks way easier to navigate though.

I now have mine where everything is all centered like Hud on fighter jet.

Not a good set up for a monk. I have my skills next to the team names, so I can quick cure. I also put enchantments/hexes near by so I can tell my teammates when I have hexes, blinds, cripple...etc on me. Works great and I will take a pic soon.
I also made the enemy skill larger so I can see exactly what they are doing to me.

when i play my monk i use 1-8 for the kills and F1-F8 to target party members.

i use 1-8 for skills regardless of the character im playing, since a) i used wasd and it's right there, and b) my skill bar is down in the corner.
what ill usually do in the rare pvp matches i play is stand directly behind an elementalist who will run ward against melee/elements then kinetic armor on himself. anyone who happens to notice that there's a little healer behind him i'll just pin down em and kite like a bat out of hell.

What... did that have to do about anything in this thread?
Calrisian Nantos
I believe he was responding to something someone said about liking his setup
Also you dont need photoshop to resize, just use mspaint

Plain a simple
Kamatsu
Here's mine - I've moved things around a bit and re-adjusted their shape and size to let me see at a glance all the important stuff without getting too much in my way. Pretty basic and simple, but it suits me just fine.

Easier when everything's on one side; your field of view is easier to manipulate, your eyes don't have to dart across the screen. Note the somewhat perhipheral placement of the status bar, and target action monitor, I personally find that this dramatically helps my reaction speeds, particularly for interrupts and other reactionary measures, such as cancelling a spell mid-cast if diversion is cast on you, et cetera.
Though, one thing you can't tell by the screeny is that, unlike most people I know, I play guild wars with the sound on and rarely any music, maybe at like 3% vol, mainly because I pay much attention to sound in the game, many critical skills can be readily identified by their sound effects, and I find it really helps my game to be at peak awareness.

blah. mp3s at full volume, in-game music to 0% and sound effects at 50%. sound is meaningless in this game. icon/avatar over the players head / skill monitor are all you need to pay attention to.
Asplode
Well you may be comfortable playing that way and I'll admit that most important happenings will either happen from your field of view, or from your MT, so sound may not be that crucial for you, but sometimes your opponent may unintentionally telegraph his next actions via sound cues, giving you that much extra time to react and maintain the upper hand.
Arri
I pretty much use the default interface, just moved the XP bar to the health/energy bars, thats it hehe
Im pretty much used to using default interfaces in any game

no sound here either ... only sound effects. I agree with asplode on this.
Maxiemonster
Hmmm.. Strange.
I haven't seen anyone without the item set bar minimized (you can make it a couple of pixels small) so it doesn't get in the way, try it It's nice.

Well I play warrior and monk often, both classes requiring a large amount of area survey, so I consolidate my interface to one part of the screen so I have a large, uninhibited view of the battlefield.

I still use the default >_>

Well here is mine. I like having most everything up the one side I only have to glance to the right to see everything.
ChoKILLate[FDG]
I am using a modified version of this:
I have lowered the target bar, so that I can see exactly what skills they are using and can interupt them. I have also moved my enchantment/conditions over to the right closer to my skill bar. I do like the clean look of Kamatsu's interface though, and may change mine a bit.

I like to keep things close together so my eyes don't have to wander all over the screen. It also makes it easier to compare relative health and energy. I've managed to do this without having it confusing or cluttered (for me).
I find the parallel health bars and energy bar useful for energy management when using skills like, Vampiric Gaze, Vampiric Touch, Ether Feast, etc.
I shrunk the skill monitors and put them to one side which is less distracting but visible. Also my skill monitor is parallel with the enemy's monitor so it's easier to compare.
The experience bar is also shrunken and tucked into an area where it doesn't draw attention - I don't use it much but it's still nice to have around.
The vertical effects monitor looks less cluttered than if it were horozontal - as that would visually clash with the skill bar. Even with a stack of effects it's still not as intrusive as one might think.
The "trade" button and "drop item" buttons (not shown) have been moved to the space to the right of the skill bar - they're actually on top of each other since I don't imagine having to need both buttons at the same time.
Asplode
Updated my interface with the patch changes.
Basically, I just moved and adjusted the skill monitor to accomodate the new second display for stances, shouts, and insta-skills, moved my own progress bar to juxtapose to the monitor, and moved the drop button on top of all that, and then moved my maintained enchantments to hover just slightly over the skill bar (Helps greatly with using holy veil). I kept my skill bar and health/energy display default for simplicity sake, but moved EVERYTHING else.

I have tried many different set-ups, and I still think that the default is the easiest to use *shrugs*

This is how my skill bar normally looks when versing casters:

and... i don't have those cool little buttons like some of these pics. i'm guessing it's this greyed out area in my options...

Stubey77
how do you change your interface?
Asplode
On the bottom left corner's the "Menu" button, scroll up to "customize" and under that window, click "customize interface". It'll turn all the little windows into moveable, resizeable rectangles.
Mandy Memory
this is mine (tis cropped) the exp bar originally was there for final thrust (marking half health) but now that my w uses axes....tis just there
Asplode
Oooh marking half health, that's pretty clever...
...only problem, of course, being that "half health" in GW is very bugged because the calculation for "half" apparently happens before runes, or sommat, so "half" can be something like 45% or like 60% depending on what you're wearing.
Either way, an approximation on the interface would be useful.
Thanks for the idea.
