Is 2 GW accounts worth it?
samtheslayer
Well now im faced with a dillema, i have 3 pve characters w/mo, r/e n/me there all great and i have 15k/1.5k armor for all of them and good weapons all customized. 2 of there armors are dyed all black and one all silver. i love each one to death so i couldnt possible delete one to make room, the last slot is my "pvp slot", and i switch out my fav. pvp classes regulary.
and ive always wanted to make a E/mo pve and a mo/w, its only like 35 bucks here where i live and i thought the extra character space could be usefull, so is it a good idea?

Who would waste another 50 bucks on this game?

Sure why not, if you really enjoy the game enough to consider buying another account, it's totally worth it. You also get the benefits of being able to run two guilds at the same time.

I did bought a second account. I dont regret it at all.

With games that charge a monthly fee, I have never understood multiple accounts for the same person. Luckily, Guild Wars does not charge a monthly fee, so you pay only once and play your new characters forever. I currently have two accounts. I love the extra storage for both money and items, and I don't have to delete my old, well-worn characters just to play a new flavor in PvE. I also enjoy the challenge of playing on a new account from scratch. For me, the extra account has been well worth the money.

Don't listen to the jaded people who have played through the game but no longer enjoy it for one reason or another. If YOU like it still, if YOU are still having fun, if YOU think it'd be worth the money, if you indeed HAVE the money, then you should get the second account. I wouldn't go buy a full version, though. Go over to NCSoft's site and buy a CD key. That's a much cheaper option.

ooh i didnt know of that alternative ill check it out right now thnx bro

Gack....$49.99...
If you can get a full CD version for $35, go for it! Much better deal for you.

I'm not telling you to do one thing or the other, but I think you should think this through more thoroughly.
Consider that if you buy another copy of the game, you will have to buy two copies of each expansion. Also it is worth considering that the character slot issue, like anything else in Guild Wars, is not set in stone and can be changed. It'd be a shame to have an account that you are only using two slots on. There is nothing wrong with Heals or Area of Effect Spells, but they are not so fun that they warrant another account.

how much is it for only the cd-key?

Theres one reason I dont think you should do it: Unlocks.
Unless theres a system that allows you to link accounts, you're going to have to unlock everything over again.

I have 2 accounts. Its worth it to me, I have one character of each primary professio and still have 2 slots left to play around with PvP characters when I want.

Hasn't been a big deal for me, you're only talking about the PvP portion of the game.

I bought another copy to use as mules but i also pass on anything which may need unlocking on my new account which i find with my main.
With my main characters being polished for the 7th, if there's a time when i needed that extra space...it's now.
Here's my setup for my accounts.
1. Ranger
2. Warrior
3. Healing monk
4. PvP slot
5. Protection monk
6. Storage necromancer
7. Storage Mesmer (with droknars armour )
8. Empty (soon to be storage ele.)
If storage or not wanting to delete your characters is your concern...buy another copy. Life is so much easier.

Its a very personal decission. The only reason for me would be: To use a high level build to rush a chr. from the 2nd account trought the lower and medium maps. For the rest there's not much to gain:
Storage? There are no elite items, once you have the best sword/axe/rod/whatever its done. Just sell whats imperfect and you never have a storage problem.
Professions? Sure, if you want to try every primary profession seriously you need another account. But its more likely that you want to stick to 1 or 2 and switch secondary professions at regular times.
The drawback of buying 2 expansions is also there. But if you can miss the money, why not? Just do what YOU feel is right

Or you could take the risk and buy one from the many ppl in LA selling their extra accounts. Only 90 ecto, or about 100k in game cash for one account.
I have to admit, I was weary that it was a scam when I talked to this guy for like 1 hr trying to negotiate the trade. (about 70k in dyes, and 30k+ in weapons), but he didn't seem like the scamming kind, so I went and trusted him. Paid 100% after I got the confirmation email, and after i traded him my items, he clicked his corresponding confirmation email. And bling! I got a (I think) collectors edition account for GW! Woo Hoo! Its so awesome...
Now I just need to figure out how to make my hands glow.

Bad idea because you can earn the skills you need from the other classes through faction with your PVP character. Not all the skills are worth getting anyway, so it's not much of a loss. If you have more than one, you'll have to unlock everything 2 times... it's better to unlock what you don't have with faction or by swapping secondary in desert.

...FFS, people! He isn't worried about unlocking everything again! The second account would be strictly PvE. If he wanted to make a PvP-whatever, he could just use his PvP slot on his existing account!
Alias_X
The game is made to be beaten with a single account, so I think you should only use one. What is collectors edition account? Whats that supposed to mean/?/

you get divine aura, which makes you glow when /dancing. and...yeah

Personally I don't think it would be the best idea. There is the point that Sanji raised about buying two expansions and additionally a lot of people want more character slots. The chances of more character slots appearing in an expansion would be pretty high to me. You are willing to buy another copy of the game for these character slots, I bet a lot of people would be willing to buy an expansion just for more character slots. Arena.net is smart enough to capitalize on this because it would be a major selling point.
Will you enjoy spending the $35 on two more PvE character more than buying another game to play around with until the expansion arrives? You could buy 2 DVDs you really with around $35 too. Personally I think it would be best to at least wait to see what happens with the expansion. Arena.net has heard the cries for more character slots and they have their notebook of "Things that will make the expansion sell like hotcakes."
Just look at all your options and see if you really want this second account before you go for it.

With a second account you can join more than one guild - use your imagination and you can see 15 ways to exploit that to your advantage....
... errr... not that you should ever do that ....
... just a little food for thought ...

Sounds far too suspicious/dangerous if you ask me.

1) Sorrows Furnace is comming out, and he may have wanted the extra money for it, or something...idk.
2) 1 million online goes for 90 dollars. Or at least thats what my idiot friends paid for it.
3) An account on ebay goes for 30 dollars.
4) This guy said he had 3 accounts
5) Not only did he have password for the account, he also had the password for the email address.
IDK, seems legit to me. Or at least I hope it is, because I have no money left on my account...just a few fur squares in an empty storage.

I have 2 accounts and the way I see it is like this.
My Primary account I unlock everything and keep a space for PvP.
My secondary account is PvE only I dont bother unlocking skills since PvP is not the aim here.
This now allows me to have 1 of each primary class.
(Fin with all but Mesmer, and Monk is half way)
This also allows me to play around with INTERESTING combinations of character classes, that are unusual but could be fun to play.
Ive found that some character class combinations are great fun to play although they are not the most powerful. What they have taught me is how to stay alive. Try keeping a H2H ele alive.

It's you're money, you decide how much it's worth to you.
I personally wouldn't. I don't think GW really has enough content to warrant two accounts. Don't get me wrong, I like the game a lot, but it's certainly not the most enormous game around. I too find four slots to be a little constricting, but I wouldn't be prepared to shell out an extra £35 just to have enough space for the other two characters I want to build. Although I know people who have multiple accounts for games with a monthly fee which I think have enough character slots with just one account, so it's up to you.
I would suggest that you simply use the money to get drunk, however. Then you won't care about only having four GW characters!

If I were you, I'd just wait a while. Within (maybe) 6 to 8 months chapter 2 will be released which (should) include 4 new character slots and possibly 1 or 2 new classes, and extra storage.
However if you can't wait that long... how much is the cash worth to you? I'd blow 50 bucks easy on a Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend... to pick up another copy of guildwars for 50 bucks (or a random game as I sometimes do) is nothing.
