I just did a quest in the mineral springs and every item that dropped from a chest was purple or gold. Very nice! Just make sure to purchase a key or two from the merchant before you enter a zone or you wont be able to open a chest.

I got this "Stinger" Ivory bow from G. Thornbeard boss (ranger)
*It can't be dyed. (meaning doubleclicking a dye wont even use up the dye on it, it wont let you)
**ranger boss was using psn, so that's why (mod)it turned out to be.
-If anyone else has gotten this, plz post if it has different mods. (if not it means there's only 1 specific item for a specific boss then.

Well as for the Smiting Rod having Prot att's....that's just the same old GW item drop for me. I constantly find/found items like that - my Fire ele would find something with nice buffs having to do with casting speed etc. but the requirement would be AIR or Water?? Never found anything that was specific to one att or pertaining the the main att I was using for any of my builds.
But I am interested in the mod-ability of the new GREEN/Boss specific drops.

OMG! I just found a really kool mini sword! 
It has some really kool weird writing on the side and lights up blue when charr are near. Something about it being called "Sting".

Interesting stuff. Keep them coming. Am I right in assuming that the stats on these aren't random? Obviously all greens are maxed, but what I mean is, will Thornbeard's Horned Bow always have those particular stats? Or could it be (for instance) zealous + enchanted 20%?

That's what I'd like to know. I haven't seen any green items I've got. So I don't know yet I guess they're not random though, since they're kinda fitting to the boss dropping them.

I've only seen 3 items that are really good, the rest isn't that great. The green items aren't as great as I expected them.

Something useful... Many attributes required for the dmg and the boost for Skill recharge/Faster Casting don't match, many aren't maxed, many are possible to get in better/the same forms from collector's or golden items.
