I found some pretty decent gold wepons. Not all have been high requiremets either. Also found some pretty decent upgrades on som staffs. A couple +27 hale heads, but mostly the gold have a +5 defense on them, a very high amount of them for some reason.
But also a lot of armors(runes). So far though I think I have made more than I have spent on keys.
Obviously the chests in the higher maps are goig to drop better items. Even the Shiverpeaks chests in Grenth's are not that great. Some of the chest in the upper level missions have the best weapons actually. Hells Precipice and Abaddon's Mouth, I have found some nice drops in those chests.
I surely wouldn't be buying keys for Kryta or Ascalon.
But also a lot of armors(runes). So far though I think I have made more than I have spent on keys.

In Sorrow's Furnace, from a miner's chest, I got a gold max sundering longsword of fortitude. It was sundering 10/9 and health +25. All the rest has been cross-class junk that I couldn't use and wouldn't dare try to sell. I think the average merchant price for the chest items has been around 140g each. Certainly not worth the cost of a key and yet you never know when that really awesome item will pop out of one.
As far as non-green drops, I got a gold shortbow w/ +13% dmg all the time (of course -1 health regen) zealous 1:1 and health +20 or 21. I also got a gold armor with a superior protection prayers on it.

ive gotten at least 20 gold amour drops(un ided) also have gotten perfrect fellblade, flameberg, deadly cestas, horn bow, long bow, alot of staffs.
there are alot more but i got all of these from a sertain chest and they are all gold(sometimes purple) and always un ided and they are ALWAYS maxed out

Cautionme3: most chests in high level areas are like that. "Perfect" in your case would probably mean just max damage; I highly doubt you're picking up req. 7 10/10 +30's.

Got two superior monk runes that I sold unID'd for 8k each.
Also a few gold items, one was a max dmg longbow of something or other. Mostly I just get purples though. Useless stuff with mod combos that make no sense, like req. 9 fire magic, increases casting speed for healing prayers.

My best item from a chest has been from the first Shiverpeak Chest I ever opened when I first arrived in Grenth's footprint. It went straight to my Monk character!

i've probably opened more than 30 shiverpeaks and miner chests so far and all i got was crappy purple items and not-so-good purple bows and not-so-good gold bows

Keys gave me almost everytime staffs, canes, cesta's and wards. Although they where max damage and sometimes gold, they usually had insane cross-class req. such as 11-22 firedamage req. 11 div. favor, +12% regen of death magic if health under 50% and +3 armor. Or something like that.

is this items other than the green items i take it. Ive been getting more and more green items than i ever got gold ones. And there all good. THey have green weaps of every class and artifacts and so forth. The green items are awesome and mainly drop when your in parties. Ive noticed that the bigger your party the more likely your drop rtes get. I think there trying to base it on the number of players your working with. Hope this helps and promotes big parties

I've done ok. A superior vigor, a pair of +5 enegy > 50 health wands, a nice 5/1 vamp hammer.
We should make a list of what item types drop from what chests. The shiverpeak ones seem to give reasonable odds of finding a max summit axe or warlord shields.

So, I tend to think that certain chests drop certain types of items. It would be neat to map out the chests and particular drops that people have gotten, and maybe we'll start to see a trend.
I have gotten some nice summit gear north of Granite Citadel, and nice Mursaat stuff South of Thunderhead. This really makes me think that the chests are area & enemy specific with the type of drops you get.
I probably spent close to 70K on keys, and unlocked a ton of runes and mods that I needed but nothing that was any better than my good gold stuff. Still is kind of fun taking a gamble.
Has anybody farmed the chests in UW or FoW?, I haven't spent any time down there post-update and am curious to see what those are dropping.
