+15% Dmg (always) mod without negative mods?

What do you think? Is it a bug, or just a really rare mod?

Lately I've seen a couple of +15% Dmg (always) mods without a negative mod. I'm not sure what's up with these mods, since they're really rare. I don't really think ANet would make a mistake in something like this, but you never know..

They used to spawn a while back, but I heard that they made it impossible for them to drop anymore.

Hmm, so the ones I've seen were probably from way back? Since that would make them endlessly expensive

A lot of those "perfect always" have a negative....

Something along the lines of a -5 energy, most of the time. The damn marketers in the Ventari's sell forum consider it seperate, apparently.

Yea...I'm sure you did...since they don't drop anymore...AT ALL.

What a BS'er.

...that is more believable. Although, that thing would be worth so damn much, I would be scared to sell it if it was mine. Actually I'd probably just customize it.

I'll stick with my req. 9 12% > 50 Dwarven Axe for now.

If some one has a small third world country available for trade, I have a max damage, 15% no negative mod dwarven axe.

Considering the fact that iQ held the halls for seeminly millions of hours each weak back in the summer, I don't doubt that they had some really nice drops. Such an axe would be perfect, and Zrave Nefastaru would probably offer unlimited amounts for it.

Since you need screenshots to believe... Not really looking to trade them though.

The ones without mod don't drop anymore, only the first few weeks of retail.

Not a big fan of how any of the "rare" axes look except for the Dwarven axe, which is by far the best looking item in the game. Serpents are mediocre, and Sephis axes are just ugly.

Wow. I wonder if you were to replace the zealous upgrade if the negative energy mod would return...

Probably not worth trying to figure it out.

Those are photoshoped. Notice the fuzz around the descriptors and lack of fuzz anywhere else.

Nice but not nice enough v. The 3D animator!

Unfortunately back then rare items didn't drop, just a single sigil.

-edit-
And I doubt those are photoshopped. The blur is just the JPEG image degredation, and what you see are axes with 15% damage always with a -1 energy as its penalty, which simply got overlapped when he put the Zealous Axe Haft on it, so rather than turning into -2 energy regeneration it stayed as -1.

I tried that with a Long Sword that had -1 energy regen, and instead I got two -1 regens, which showed in the description and affected my warrior. So am I missing something or is there an actual way to do this...?

I doubt those are Photoshoped. The fuzz that's around the letters is because it's a low quality jpeg image and fuzz always happens around the shapes in a low quality jpeg.

Try it out youself, take a high quality image, open it in Paint and re-save it as a jpeg. Since Paint saves jpeg with biggest compression you'll get a low quality jpeg with fuzz around the shape edges.
Same thing will happen if you save t out of Photoshop on the lowest quality.

^ Correct. It just LOOKS like there is no penalty. But it's there. If you changed the prefix of that Dwarven, it would still have -1 energy regen (which sucks, unless you have Zealous of course). So yeah...never touch that mod, it'll ruin the Axe.

Both Dwarven and Sephis are ugly if you ask me. Though, I've got the most expensive axe taste:

A sickle.

Yeah, too bad there aren't any max ones (sickles)...

Sickles are pretty nice, though. I prefer the Dwarven look, though, Sickle would be my #2 aesthetic choice.

Don't get me started on the Shovel Axe...err, Sephis Axe. Looks like crap IMO. And the character holds it waaaay too high up. Think very high choke on a baseball bat.

I'm confused...are you correcting yourself here? Meaning that you meant to originally say 15% always/no penalty instead of 15>50?

If so...I'd have to see it to believe it.

Hiya, sino...remember me? lol. I've been away too long. Just came over here to see whats going on. I'll be back to GW in a month or so

For all the non-believers out there, 15% always non-negative weapons used to drop early on in the first couple of weeks in the game. I myself had a 15% always non-neg longbow

I have seen a +% damage weapon with no drawbacks. I took a screenshot. Yes, I've been a Photoshop user since version 4 and I can doctor up whatever the heck I feel like at this point and no-one will be the wiser, but this screen is for real, trust me.
