I restarted my Mo/E as an E/Mo for these very reasons. I've about had with with all this whining about monks.
Being a crutch for people who won't learn how to play the game is not my idea of fun at all.
I'm also sure I'll tick off more than my share of people when my Elementalist is a Healer/Water Mage later on down the road. I can see it now.
"U ELE. U NUKER. NUKE B__CH!!!!"
"WOT U USING WATER FOR? U STUPID?!!!1"
"QUIT HEALIN' I NO MONKS DEAD BUT U NOT HEALER."
"AHHHHHH I DEAD! REZ ME REZ ME U DUM NOOB!!!!"
I've held my own on Perdition Rock with my guard warrior, Devona, the two hench monks, and a human player Elementalist. That's right 5/8 and it took the Healing Hands monk boss to finally butcher us when a bunch of golems ran around to join the fun.
For the record, any alternative groups out there that actually can think beyond UBERTANKERHEALERNUKERLAND can feel free to add any of my characters to their groups.
And as far as disrespectful players are concerned, I think smiting monks, trappers, and non-fire Elementalists as well as all Mesmers are among the most disrespected players in the game and if any ever want to add any of my characters to a team, I won't bawl if we actually try to play without monks.
SALUTE to everyone who actually tries to think and try something new with their characters.
Monks, most valuable classes?
