The Future of Hydra farming my w/mo riposte build
dont feel no pain
Me updated = 27/10/06 - after nightfall update
Dont worry .... be happpy
loook look no changes to build... no changes by nerf
only a better dealy riposte!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
found this build very effective, and cheap... it requires no fancy axes/swords, you could do this build with a 1-2 dmg sword
ok heres the build
Armor
platemail/weaven/dragon (90 armor)....
sentinal (100 armor) if trualy the best ... if you've got factions
Runes
suprior/major/minor vigor
suprior tactics
suprior strength
your helm should be +1 strength too
you should had done both attribute quests
Attributes
8 healing (yep your healing source, if your having a hard time lower your tactics and inscrease healing)
15 strength (11+4) (this is for defy pain + doylak sigit, with 15 strength you will have
14 tactics (11+3) (your dmg output, the higher the tactics , the faster your kills)
Skills
Flurry (this will inscrease your adrenaline gain + healing)
Riposte (your primary dmg.. spam it like an idiot)
deadly riposte (your secondary dmg)
defy pain {elite} (your savior keep on at all times when facing more than 3)
doylak sigit... = god...lol... keep on at all times when fighting hydra
vigerious spirit ... its required after 3 hydra
live vicously (keep on from when you leave augury... then forever)
balthzars spirit (same as live vicously)
the ideal (not neccary setup)
furious sword of warding/defence is your best bet
good 16 armor sheild (if rich have + armor vs fire)
ok once u leave augury rock at north exit spack blathzars spirit on and live vicasouly.
dont worry about energy when u run into the hydra with even 0 energy it will be fine.
as soon as u run into a group doylak sigit before fireball/metoer hit u (u should know when after a bit of farming) once or if u have 5 energy cast vigerous spirit, and by now they should had started to move into you and you health should be around 1/2 or 3/4 depending on the size of the group you faced.
start slashing away at the nearest enimie and do defy pain and then flurry and then spam the hell out of riposte and deadly risposte.
Flurry is very important, without it you have less healing over time and less dmg given out, you should be able to keep it on at all times with 4+ hydra
doyalk sigit should be on at all times too, and defy pain
if riposte/deadly riposte kills the hydra you are slashing instantly change target to keep the healing + adrenal gain going. and continue. this kills them nice and fast and if you do it right your healing>dmg and you will build yourself up to like your max health.
takes practice but you'll get the hang of it
the normal design of teh build
15 strength (+4)
14 tactics (+3) = (if your beginning try with 11 tactics (+1) for higher health)
8 healing
flurry
riposte
-blank-
*elite* = (defy pain/healing hands/gladiators defence)
doylak sigit
vigerous spirit
live vicously
balthzars spirit/sprint (if you take sprint you must take a zealous sword)
will mainly work on....
grawls =====(blank = watchyourself, elite = gladiators defence)
griffons =====(blank = watchyourself, elite = gladiators defence)
trolls =====(blank = watchyourself, elite = gladiators defence, swap balthzars spirit for sprint and take zealous hilted sword)
azure shadows =====(blank = watchyourself, elite = gladiators defence, swap balthzars spirit for sprint and take zealous hilted sword)
enchanteds =====(blank = deadly riposte, elite = defy pain)
hydra's =====(blank = deadly riposte, elite = defy pain)
mangho hydra's =====(blank = watchyourself, elite = defy pain)
sand giants =====(blank = deadly riposte, elite = healing hands)
turda giants =====(blank = deadly riposte, elite = gladiators defence)

Just want to say i tried the build tonight and it works amazingly. I'm surprized how user friendly it is. I think i took down 5 at a time with only like 5 min of practice with it. The hardest part of it for me was capping defy pain
i give it a thumbs up

oh yeah btw what kind of stuff do u get from hyrdas the best thing i got was a blue dye
dont feel no pain
i've got black dyes , mainly ele stuff i got like tons of staffs and wands and a few weapons , but i enjoy farming with it and it works other places as shown above. some serious practice and u will be able to take 10. love the fact that the more u hi the more u heal, and gain adrenaline for riposts , so it's balanced.

how long dose it take for you to kill a group of hyrda's
dont feel no pain
quite fast , realy fast......
emm 1 min for like 3 hydra
2 mins for like 6-8
Ye new update in the build:
if u want to take on the mangh hydra use watch yourself insted of deadly riposte.
and if u want to take bigger groups of hydra 12+ do that on them too.
u only get like once chance on the run to get that many at once.

Hmm it would be cool if you could fit hundred blades in there because look at it this way-- if you're getting all this health from constantly hitting hydras you would swing twice which would give you the health you normally get with two hits and then you swing once at every target.
If you have 6 hydras on you it goes this way:
Vigorous Spirit adds +10 to health regain and let's say Live Vicariously gives you +15. That is 25 health regain on one hit. Now 25x2 (You hit Hundred blades) that's 50 health, then if you 6 hydras INCLUDING the one you just hit 25x6 is 150. 150+ 50 = 200 health stolen. If you don't hit the target you just swung at twice you have retained 175 health. That's alot of health taken away. The higher Liver Vicariously is and Vigorous spirit is, the more health you will steal.

dont feel no pain
well defy pain is a must on big groups
Longasc
You can also do this with Gladiators Defense and / or Healing Breeze.
Defy Pain, like Endure Pain, can be a lifesaver, but if you forget about a superior rune, you can really ignore it. It should not be necessary.

Battle Torn
I tried this too.... works a treat and easy to use. I had a little prob with the energy managment so I tried healing breeze and not vigerous spirit and mending (with vamp sword) and not deadly riposte cos for some reason I could take larger groups this way. +8 +3 -1 each hit using live vicariously and vamp mod with flurry was a good +10hp each hit and breeze between riposte was good regen combined with this and I could take em down pretty quick too
good job
ps: where are those mangh hydra at?

Capping Defy Pain? Where is the easier place to get this? I want to try out this build tonight....and YOU really have NO points in Sword?

Oh...what kind of armor do you use? Defy Pain can be captured in the Frozen Forest from Obrhit Barkwood. I'd suggest starting from Copperhammer Mines. Points into Swordmanship don't matter because you don't use any sword attacks.
I suppose the armor doesn't matter, as long as you have a piece of Ascalon/Knights for absorb. It looks like dont feel no pain uses full platemail + Ascalon boots.

I will share any findings. you have 1 point left over (which i put into smiting :wub
im using his build now, its pretty good
it definitely takes some getting used to. i need to remember to save adrenaline for defy pain cus i always die.
anyways, so far ive made around 5k in cash from drops, a lot of xp and my first 'good' drop is a fiery spatha. lol
i would have more if i didnt disconnect 5 minutes into the trip
thanks man. this build is pretty sweet

hmmmm i can think of any other ways of improving it but putting watchv yourself on insted of deadly riposte that will make it a bit better with defence but kill slower emm.........

nice build!!I wasn't a beleiver until about 10 minutes ago.How does it work in GvG or have you tried it at all?
dont feel no pain
i dont think it would work in gvg ROFL
Hiryu
A little slow for my tastes, but very easy to use.
Plus you can get most of those skills early with a Drok run. Props.

You wanna laugh on the floor but you dont have a clue if it works.Hmmm...sounds like all you do is farm.
dont feel no pain
i know how gvg works and i do hoh aswell as farming and it just wont stand a chance in gvg or any other pvp when it's anti melee

dont feel no pain's right. It wouldn't stand a chance in GvG against any half-competent team. Don't even bother trying it.
Only absolute idiots target self-preserving Warriors in GvG/PvP. Especially if they can't do any good damage. This build can't do damage unless the enemy "attacks" you --- ie: tries to harm you using a weapon. Even worse, the skills Riposte and Deadly Riposte only reflect damage back at the enemy when you're standing right next to you. Who cares if you have a ton of armor if the enemy doesn't bother hitting you because you're not even a threat? This build isn't even suited for flag running. Plus, armor ignoring spells and conditions will shred this build. "Obsidian Flame in 3...2...1..." = dead W/Mo.
The build was designed specifically for farming, so it's not so good in other environments... sorta like how an Invincimonk in GvG isn't so good.

It's called BE CREATIVE. Take out Defy Pain and replace it with Watch Yourself, then add in your Hundred Blades. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure this stuff out. lasteele
either way i still give you props on your build for farming. Its one of the best i have ever seen. You have any suggestions on a KD W/MO farming grenths and sorrows. This is my my build as of to date:counter blow
