I've just tried the original build (page 1) and it's really great for farming hydras. But i wonder why you have both energy and life bars above your skills. do you just use the keyboard to spam skills or did you find a way to get rid of the f***ing mouseover skill description ?
PS : and by the way, don't you get awesome stuff farming mango hydras ?
PS 2 : omg how can you farm these manhgo hydras ... there's always this stupid phantom blinding me...

ok every single build i make resides around the fact that i have done both 15 atrreibute quests , and almost all builds i make always have 2 of these (supirior tactics, strength, axe, sword) so my health is like 400ish
Max Vigor
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa . Now I know I've spent far too much time playin g as my Ele lol. Thx for this absolutely wicked build I can now farm and actually find some decent items and perhaps make some $ at the same time .
Max Vigor
Thx btw

Nice build. I tried the axe variation with a couple mods. It worked great. However, I don't find Hydra farming as rewarding as Griff farming. All I got were some claws, of course, and a few blue wands and staffs. Maybe I just have a bad couple runs, but I think I'll head back over to the other side of the desert.
Battle Torn
Yeh... too much effort for too little reward. This build is good for a break from the norm, but you wont make 60k in 4 hours like you can Griffon farming.

I just cant get this to work with a sword.

As soon as I grab riposte from either CopperHammer mines or Fishermans haven or get a good enough party to cap it from the krtyan bird people boss.

Where do you get defy pain?
And what level would you recommend to do this?

Just fyi I think Defy Pain can be capped directly south of Beakons Perch in Lornar's pass. A good warrior should be able to cap this skill solo. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes. The location of the monster is "up the hill" (make a left out or Beakons) and nested on top of some rocks. You can also cap Life Barrier here and some ranger skill. These bosses are scarcly known about, I've never seen any mention of them anywhere. Beats the hell out of capping in the zone between copperhammer and iron mines! deve8uk
OK Ive percivered but I cant do more than 3 Hydras and 4 griff.
10 healing 12 stre 12 tac. just cant seem to get it any higher than that. I did et a decent sword and a gold bow. but god sits hard going. 3 at a time. guess its better than Ettins Ive just tried and I cant get stre or tactics anywhere near that high. how the hell are yoou doing it? deve8uk

And what level would you recommend to do this? Goto copperhammer mines. head south back towards droks. there is a Prinisol Oakhamer or something like that. I have seen it spawn in a couple of differnt places around there but all before the next portal. Dark-Legacy

I capped it off obrhit blackwood outside the iron mines of moladune, Took me roughly 4hrs coz i did'nt know he spawned it different places i kept going to the same place and found some other boss instead. When i eventually realised he could be somewhere else i travelled all the way there to find out what? Yip you guessed it, He had spawned back at the place i had been looking all along! holden

Please refer to post #137 for a better place to cap this skill. You should only cap it outside of copperhammer if you are a glutton for punishment Dark-Legacy
So which build is more effective, Thailli's or Dont feel no pain?
FatalPromise
I can't handle the damage from their fireballs/meteors. I use the griffon farming build, with an axe. They do tons of damage with fireball and meteor, thats my only problem with farming hydra's

bring doylak sig. with watch yourself, vigorous spirit, live vicariously and defy pain you should be ok. you'll need bonnetti's or balth aura for energy. its hard for sure but shit they are hydras
look at don't feel no pains build on page one Ado
Defy pain can be capped very easily in lornars pass starting from beacons. Problem is that he doesnt always apawn there.

Leave Beakons, walk a bit, hold ctrl down, see the name of the boss.
If its not the boss rezone. You don't even need to aggro any monsters to do this! Should take no more than 2 minutes to get him to spawn Any way you look at it, it's the better choice deve8uk
Hydras are fine now, well as long as its just the 3.
Griffons and Minators just kick my ass. Griffs get me below 50% Health and its lights out. Just cant get enough strikes in to heal. Anyone else having this trouble or is it just me. G_Bones
For those of you having trouble with this build, try this one instead. I use:
Balthazar's spirit Sever Artery Gash Galrath Slash Final Thrust Mending Dolyak Sig Healing Breeze With my Zealous Fellblade, using both enchatments I actually have a -1 energy degen, but it STAYS maxed in battles. Healing 9 Smiting 4 Strength 11+1 Swordsmanship 10+2 I also use a defender, so the strength covers my shield requirement. This build will handle up to 5 Hydra with no problems at all. 6 is iffy, and more than 6 is a death sentence. Luckily, if you die, you can easily overcome death penalty, as each Hydra eliminates 2%. The trick to making money isn't the Uber drops, it's salvaging basically anything worth under 100g. In an hour or so outside Augury, you will make 3k cash, but you can make 4-5k from selling the wood and iron at Drok's. Build will totally decimate Griffons, also. You can take up to 10 or so easily with this build. dont feel no pain
Yawn new discovery , my orignal build (yes the one on page 1) owns azure shadows so bad , i got a pic of me vs like 8 of them , its other pc lol , if u want to try , just go far east from port sledge alter the build to your liking as long as u have this template you'll be fine.
15 strength (+4) 10 healing 13 tactics gladiators defence flurry riposte doylak sigit vigerous spirit live vicarously balthzars spirit sprint Tpot Ace
ONE question, for hydras, how do u gather them without taking like e50 mins on walking...
dont feel no pain
dude , if there are say 2 groups of 3/4 close together i run and try and catch both groups attension in less than 2 secs and then do doylak and wait for them to come in , u should had taken some bad dmg , but by the time u get vigerous spirit up and flurry away your healing will overcome thier dmg , and then do defy pain and keep it up. some points on the run u will have a chance to gather 3 groups of 3 or even more , but its gets more dangerous at the start of a fight with more hydra.
SirShadowrunner
Hi everyone,
Sounds like Hydra farming is getting more popular, it is a nice break from the Griffins and ettins, which I find kind of boring compared to taking on hydras. I use the original build from Don't Feel No Pain and can take on 5 or 6 hydras with alot of fun fighting, have done 8 a couple times and lived, but that is alot of meteors coming at you. The run I make is to clear out heading east to teleporters, teleport down, then head back west, you will have your inventory full before you get back to Augury Rock, usually make 4-7k per run, and takes around 50-60 min. Oh and bring a bow to pull, they will come to you real fast..... dimirpaw
Very nice build! I'm making like 10k a run on this, takes around 40mins though. My only problem is taking on more then 6 hydras, the vig spirit cannot keep up with the damage in-take.
I'm using a Knight Set, and Plate Helm, I might change it to a Knights Helm for the reduce damage. I'm going to make a video tonight with this build, since it rocks! XBC
So what would you say is a good shield/sword/armor pieces for this farming build?
Argen
I personally enjoy Hydra farming with a 55 point necro... nice and enjoyable. Walking to the Griffons just takes to long!
toric brightblade
well then, i tried the build. it is a good one, but i still say that the solo monk goes faser. i compared the two, and the winner was the solo monk becuase:
1. it can aggro like 15 at a time 2. they all die at the same time, making it much fater with more. 3. solo monks pwn! theres my two cents toric brightblade

That im aware of theres points on the body that get hit. So having a full Knights armor isn't a bad thing. Then again this is something people having been fighting about for some time. None the less the reason I'm using full knights is because it looks cool and so does my plate helm with it.
"3. solo monks pwn!" Yea they may "pwn" but people who have like 2/3 level 20's arnt just going to delete them for a solo monk. (Well for those that dont have one that is.) I might make a solo monk sometime but I find it kinda pointless now, since UW doesnt really make it worth it. (Only reason I would use a 55 Monk) |
