That may be the case now, Asrial and I compared on 1 collector before the latest patch and we both had received the same items with two different professions. I haven't gone back to check my list since the new update. Looking at my list and the updated version of Corwin Lucienne the only change I have is the name of the hammer. What does change with the collectors is the clothing items because that is very profession based. However, just because collector Kelsay gives you a headpiece and Mariena a ranger a mask does not mean they will have the equivalant for the other professions. That is why we're making this list and showing who found which armor where.

Can someone provide an instance of an armor collector that gives one slot to one class and another to another? (eg chest for rangers, boots for mesmers)

One of the problems I always seem to have is: when I allready have the necessary items the collectors dont mention the itemstats anymore, so either I completely have to guess what it will be or, if I visited the collector before, I remember the stats more or less, but never exactly (yes I should write it down ). I hope they patch this so collectors also mention what you get when you allready have the necessary items.

There's a collector out in the middle of the middle of nowhere (and I mean that just the way it's worded) that asks you to collect 9 items from creatures that can be pretty difficult.. and in return.. he gives you a bag. Yay!

If you go east from the entrance, you'll run across him on your path. He's after a bottleneck of hydra's, abominations, and tar behemoths.
He's asking for 9 Gruesome Ribcages and in return, he'll give you a bag. Anyone have him give you something else instead? I'm thinking it may be some armor.

A few notes about the items:
• I did this with a monk, so the monk armor is offered. If you visit with another profession, you will get different armor offering, of course. When I did this with a warrior, all the monk pieces are replaced by ringmail pieces and helms. I don't believe there is a difference between the same armor piece offered by two different collectors, but I could be wrong since I've never traded for 2 of the same armor from two different collectors.
• The same weapon, foci, or wand offered by 2 different collectors will likely be different. The difference is the intrinsic stat they come with. For example, the healing ankh offered by Kraviec the Cused comes with additional energy+15, energy regeneration -1, health+30. The healing ankh offered by Mourn Drakespur comes with 20% chance improved casting speed using healing prayer skills and 20% chance improved skill recharge using healing prayer skills.
• Although it is labeled a long sword, the long sword Cinder Linnwood offers looks like a rin blade, not a long sword that you find off monster drops. It comes with +15% damage while in a stance. I ran out of jade mandibles, or I would have found out what property spawns on the longsword that Uderit Ignis offers.

A few notes about the items:
• I did this with a monk, so the monk armor is offered. If you visit with another profession, you will get different armor offering, of course. When I did this with a warrior, all the monk pieces are replaced by ringmail pieces and helms. I don't believe there is a difference between the same armor piece offered by two different collectors, but I could be wrong since I've never traded for 2 of the same armor from two different collectors.
• The same weapon, foci, or wand offered by 2 different collectors will likely be different. The difference is the intrinsic stat they come with. For example, the healing ankh offered by Kraviec the Cused comes with additional energy+15, energy regeneration -1, health+30. The healing ankh offered by Mourn Drakespur comes with 20% chance improved casting speed using healing prayer skills and 20% chance improved skill recharge using healing prayer skills.
• Although it is labeled a long sword, the long sword Cinder Linnwood offers looks like a rin blade, not a long sword that you find off monster drops. It comes with +15% damage while in a stance. I ran out of jade mandibles, or I would have found out what property spawns on the longsword that Uderit Ignis offers.

In case you are wonderring, the exact stats on the earth wand given by the Topaz Crest collector in Skyward Reach just outside Augury Rock does it's listed damage and also has 20% chance to improve recharge on earth skills.
I'll try to get more Topaz Crests because I can solo drakes very easily... then I will list the other items I get.

Ginder Linwood's Storm Artifact gives 20% for both faster casting and recharge time for air magic.
John Verado's Cruel Staff gives 20% for both faster casting and recharge time for blood magic...
I'm noticing that the caster weapons offered by collectors are VERY VERY good... I had no idea you could get perfect staves from collectors.
