Dear Guildwars Santa

My name is Tyson The Slayer, I have tryed to be a very good N/M this year , There is a number of good things that i have done this year.

1st I always try to help out my guildmates that are new to the game, even if it means leaving a mission group to do so ( Srry leaveing the mission guys )

2nd There are Always beggers/noobs in the game who are asking for money or weapon or a free run, so i comply by giving them a few "K" or some of the many max dmg weapons that i get wile farming. And i try to give people runs even if i think i can't do them, but suprizingly i end up completing the run without dieing

3rd I was honest and paid the runner i was with unlike the rest of my group who scammed the runner and left him/her crying for money.

I could always use 100k for the odd weapon or piece of armor, just no lumps of coal in my stocking this year plz

There will be a plate of your favorite cookies w8ing for you at my house when and if you drop off the 100k to me.

Many Christmases ago and sometime during the Guild Wars, there was a monk who lived in Ascalon City. This monk was like any other monk, purified and loyal to Dwayna. The month of December had befallen Ascalon quickly that year and the monk felt that something was missing. "Ascalon needs something...something merry," the monk thought to himself. So the monk went on a quest to find the perfect something (for he did not know what it would be) for Ascalon. The monk visited the Ashford Abbey, Wizard's Folley, Fort Ranik, and even braved the depths of the Catacombs to search for the perfect something.

During his trek in the Catacombs he became lost and disoriented in the underground labyrinth. He wandered for hours until he saw a strip of light poking through the ceiling of the tunnel. He climbed out through an opening and found himself in a frozen land unknown to him. Night was falling and now Christmas was one day closer. The monk took shelter in a nearby cave. There he started a fire and took out some meat he had stored in his belt pouch and cooked it for dinner. Soon after dinner he lay down to rest and catch some sleep to continue his journey the next day. "The perfect something..." he mumbled as he dozed off into dream land.

During his dreams the monk was visited by a Vision of Dwayna...wearing a cute Santa hat. The Vision of Dwayna spoke in an elegant voice to the monk. "Search for the Jolly King!" whispered the Vision. The monk nodded in his sleep and the Vision of Dwanya faded away into the night.

The next morning the monk set out to find the Jolly King, who happened to be related to the Mad King. The monk knew nothing else about the Jolly King but he still endeavored. Stomping through the snow in the frozen tundra he came upon a sign. An odd sign, cane shaped, red and white. It read, "To the Jolly King's Workshop" and pointed South to a pass through a valley. So the monk entered the pass and for the first time in his journey, he felt uneasy. He felt as if someone or something was watching him. The monk, wanting to get out of the valley as quickly as possible, started to run. Breathing heavily he turned sharply along the valley wall and smacked right into an boulder elemental looking monster. The monk was knocked onto his back and was frightened at the massive red and white striped elemental. The monk's tension and fright quickly died as he realized that this elemental must be under the power of the Jolly King as the Mad King had candy corn elementals under his power.

The monk's new companion led him out of the valley and into another wide open frozen desert. But in the distance the monk could make out smoke and a green building. The candy cane-esque elemental guided the monk towards the building. The monk came upon the doors of this grand building, which smelled strongly of peppermint. The doors parted for the monk and was greeted by a tall and plump man wearing a red and white outfit, it was the Jolly King himself! "Ho ho ho! I have been expecting you, brave monk! Come! Let us come out of the cold and have a drink by the fireplace," boomed the Jolly King.

The monk soon found himself in a luxurious and cozy room with two large chairs and a coffee table accompanying the blazing fireplace. The two sat and the Jolly King said, "I know that you seek something that Ascalon seems to need this time of year. And I know that you are one who is pure, just, and have a heart of gold to brave the dangers to reach me. Therefore, as a reward, I shall grant you what you seek. I shall deliver to Ascalon, the perfect something." The monk was delighted. He had found the perfect something and had achieved his goal for Ascalon. "But!" boomed the Jolly King, "I need time to prepare this. You must return to Ascalon, and herald my coming to all of its citizens. You shall gather the masses and prepare them for my arrival. And on Christmas Eve at 11:59pm, I shall arrive with what you seek and bestow it upon the Ascalons."

The monk agreed, and he was arranged to be transported back to Ascalon City by catching a ride on one of the Jolly King's guards the next day. The monk was given a room and he dozed off again.

The next morning the monk was shuttled back to Ascalon City. There he did what was requested of him. He notified the town criers and roused up the people. He went as far as Duke Barradin's estate to tell the duke himself of the Jolly King's arrival on Christmas Eve.

Finally, Christmas Eve had arrived. The people and their children were all awake. Whispers and murmurs ran through the crowd. "Would he really show? Would he really have that perfect something the monk said we needed?" The time was near, the Jolly King would be here any moment now! And at exactly 11:59pm, Christmas Eve, the Jolly King appeared to the masses in Ascalon City, bearing a large red sack slung over his shoulder.

"Behold!" shouted the Jolly King! "I have come because of the bravery and goodness within this monk! As a reward, I shall, within my power, grant you your Christmas wish!" The crowd cheered in rejoice! And the people each told the Jolly King their wish and he granted them.

It is 10am Christmas Day. The Jolly King granted all the wishes he could. The denizens of Ascalon received, gold, clothes, new armor and weapons for the soldiers. "Alas I must take my leave!" cried the Jolly King. "As my final gift I shall bestow to everyone of you, a Santa hat! Customized for you, and you only. It is proof that you have seen me and should be worn every Christmas for it shall bring joy and memories of this day! Farewell!"

So the people received their hats and rejoiced. And the monk retired to his monastary, content. For he had brought the greatest Christmas gift ever, happiness.

Dear santa

Well......My name is Oz, Short for Ozeki Sakki lol

i am sure alot of other people have done alot better things then i have but I did my best

Hmmm, the first and greatest thing i have ever done is trying to farm for gold and buying my guildies each a greenie lol [no idea what i am doing, maybe jus for fun =O] , because i knew there wont be a santa coming to LA and giving us each a greenie ;D [but maybe there WOULD be one but hey i am not a psychic ]

well.......of course i have helped countless guildies and friends and even strangers that i met in old ascalon, i have ran people all over tryia for free but what i think is trully wonderful is sticking with my guild all the way and not be a coward by quitting the guild, even though there aint many members online at several times, and several of my good friends quit the guild i still hang on, and with my help we finally manage to be a stable guild today
[trying to win some HoH now XD]

i am just another ranger girl in tyria and i guess thats it =(
well i dont expect a reward out of this but i hope you would read it!

Dear Guild Wars Santa,

I've been a good girl this year (Well, except for the time I strip /danced in a private zone for 1k, but I donated the money toward my GuildHall). I became leader of a guild, which has since quadrupled in size. I'm always willing to help out my fellow Ascalonians, whether it be price-checking, build-checking, or just randomly appearing in low-level districts to help guildies with quests and taking along people I don't know. I sell all of my items at fair prices, and I teach people how to use TeamSpeak.

I've endured several hardships this year on my trek through Tyria. First and foremost, I'm a real girl. This has meant endless propositions, catcalls, and even some sexual harassment, both for me and for my player. Second, a practical joker offered me 100k on Halloween in a trade window, then pulled it away and said rude things to me for no reason. I've introduced my husband to the game, which is fantastic for the community since he's an avid player as well. Sadly, the amount of time we spend playing together has affected the amount of time we spend *playing* together... A small plus of this is that I've done my part to fight the overpopulation of our world.

I try to be a good Elementalist...I've never spammed fire AOE spells, and I always include Necros, Mesmers, and Rangers in my groups. I follow called targets (and sometimes even call them for my party), and I *never* quit mid-mission or quest, even if the party has no chance to finish it.

Please come visit me, Guild Wars Santa. I'll continue to be a good girl, and leave out some Dwarven Ale by the fireplace for you!

Your favorite girl,

Jaana

Dear GuidWars Santa

I have been good this year and not scammed anyone! I have gave people free runs to Forge etc. The greatest thing I ever achieved in Guild Wars was when I acsended after many tries of trying to defeat my mean harted soul. I won and became a Man in GW. I have helped many Guildies and been a friend to all fellow players. I love the community.

Thanks,

Dear GuildSanta,

I was a good little girl, I gave Gwen flowers and bought her a new flute and a cape.

Later I helped to feed the orphans, and helped this guy in a crown fight off char.
He said he was a prince, but the King said he was not his son O.o so I dunno.

I have helped straglers and settlers find places safe to stay.

Now this Reaally BIG Dragon is sending me out on these missions. I sure could use some extra gold to buy a new Axe.

Dear Santa,
There was once a new mesmer playing in the Ascalon arena in pre-searing armor. He was constantly getting shunned by his teamates until he found himself in a group with a Ranger named Eladain Windshear. Eladain was amused by the enthusiasm of the young mesmer and coached him along in the ways of basic pvp. Eventually, Eladain discovered that the mesmer was not only a new player, bur that it was his birthday too, having just started after recieving the game for his birthday. So, wanting to help the young mesmer and encourage him to further explore Tyria, Eladain gave the young mesmer anough money and materials for a new set of armor from ascalon to help defend against the evil charr. Looking at the newly outfitted mesmer, Eladain realized that while he would be aptly defended against hte charr, he would not have a way of driving them away. So searching in his storage, he found the perfect weapon for the mesmer, one that Eladain had forgotten about, and gave him a brand new Vokurs Staff. A happy birthday indeed to the young mesmer.

It would be nice if Santa would leave me something for this good deed (and the countless other freebies I have given away) so I can repay my girlfriend, who has sacrificed her globs of ectoplasms so her vain boyfriend can craft fissure armor .

-Eladain Windshear (true story, honest)

Dear G.W.S Clause,

I write this letter not for myself but for a few others in my guild, we have a lot of new members who need to be taught a lot about guildwars, and we do our best to give them equal footing as far as the rest of us go. I write you this letter asking for presents for the rest of them, I myself do not need the money I have several pieces of fow armor, and good weapons and green, it was a hella lot of work, but with the help of my guild mates I have become a much better player.

I could say I help people, or have given away free items, or ran people for free, or answered a million questions, but most of us do this anyway for people in our guild, it what's being in a guild is all about. We do not expect anything for what we do, except a little respect and help when we need it.

Though this gaming year, playing Guildwars has been hard on a few of our players, they have little gold, barley pickup any greens, or good gold that would sell high, or even really good items that would improve their game play. Much ecto, or shards have never dropped for them in the T.O.A areas, we do give away a few here and there, but you can only do so much for your friends, when you yourself are trying to get all these things as well as everyone else.

Many feel that they are no good for this game, they have no money or very little and can't expect everyone in the guild to support them 100% of the time, so I ask for your great generosity in helping some unfortunate members of our guild, it would make them happy at this time of the year, and would also keep them playing with us, we have lost a lot of members dude to troubling gameplay,or the fact they never get anything worth keeping or selling, sometimes it's frustrating for even the best of our players, so I have no stories of heroic deeds or acts, no tales of great kindness, but I write to ask that you help a few unfortunate friends at this time of year, I know it would brighten their holidays.

Thank you very much for all your kindness and generosity.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

Sincerely,

WarRaven
---------------------------------------------------------
I just like to take the time out to wish everyone around the world, weather you are celebrating the holidays or not, a merry x-mas, and to be as nice as you can to people this time of year, and to give your prayers and thoughts to, any military unable to come home from the "war", to Katrina victims, and anyone else who has had a troubling time this and past years, I hope the new year brings you fortune, success, and prosperity.

this is why im looking more into creativity than anything.
some of these are really good, i could tell you which is my current fav, but that would be like telling someoen thier present, and i'd prolly see a lot of copy-cats.
i have recieved a few questions about the system, so i'll clear it up.

i will chose what are in my opinion the top 10 stories.
then, in the order they are posted i will give them a number, 1 being the earliest one of the top 10, and the 10th post being the last.
i will then use the handy-dandy in-game GW emote three times; /roll 10
the first winner will be the grand-prize winner of 100k.
the second roll will be /roll 9 (as the 1st place will be removed to keep from winning twice)
and that persons number will be the second-place winner.
then i will use /roll 8 to determine the third place winner with the 1st and 2nd place prize-winners removed from the stack. after each roll the entries will be re-numbered so an "empty" slot cant be chosen.
after the third place prize-winner has been determined the winners will be listed and the remaining 7/10 chosen entries will receive the runners-up award of 10k each.

Dear Santa,
It's me again, Faeyn Miso. I have been very good all year....I passed my Beta tests and was able to graduate through the Ascalon Academy after healing my comrades through and continuing after what we call the searing. You should be proud of me..I have been a very helpful player and guild member. I once started a guild of my own, hoping to help other players through the game, giving little tidbits of advice when ever needed and even helping my members achieve mission assignments and obtain their armor to ensure their future successes. When I felt my services there had been sufficient, I informed my friends that I must move on, but that I would always be around to continue giving advice whenever necessary. My husband was kind enough to invite me into the guild he was in, and they have become my very best friends. We have had some hard times lately and a few friends decided that it was too much for them, they needed some time and space. I supported them in their decision and again, told them I would always be around if they needed me for anything. Like I said, our guild is having some problems and the leader is feeling like everyone is against him. I know this is not true and feel that our guild will remain intact, however small. I have decided to stay with this guild and help salvage it best as possible. I even stayed up till 2am talking with our leader, just listening, and giving advice where necessary.

How can I forget to mention my bestest friend no matter what..Charmin. As a monk, its very hard to keep everyone living and take care of your pet also. As such, I must leave him at the tent. This made it take a long time for him to grow and gain experience. But as our guild mascot, he has come to know the world and has stayed by our side at all times accompanying us on our guild missions. Everyone loves him and is honored to meet him. He represents our guild in that he can tear you apart on the outside, but on the inside he's the greatest bear you'll ever meet. I take great pride in taking care of him and even took time out of my busy training to make sure that he himself got the training he deserved. His race is slowly being killed off by the wolves, and I make sure every day that he survives. He has taught me responsiblity.

I also have helped a personal friend of mine in the game by offering countless resources to help her make her way through tyria...it can be a tough place at times. I am never into anything for the money and feel that if someone needs help with anything and they rightly deserve it and will not waste my hospitality, I give freely. I have even given people some very rare items at the drop of a hat.

I only think I should receive a gift if you feel it is right. I know there are other ascalons out there still suffering from the searing that could use this more that I. I promise that if I receive this special gift, I will gladly share with anyone.

Please remember me this holiday as I will be thinking of you also. Safe travels and...what would you like me to leave you this christmas? I make an excellent Pumpkin Pie. I will have a special pie just for you.

Dear Santa
After emerging from Ascalon Academy Gildor was confronted by many difficult task. It seem not one person required the aid of a necro to defeat the blood-thirsty charr. So he ambled on towards the shiverpeaks with the aide of his companions stefan and alessia. However after falling at the giant hurdle of frost gate this necro was forced to seek a greater power to aid him in his quest. That person (name will remain anonymous) helped our hero Gildor reach the fertile lands of Kryta. This person invited Gildor to his guild and Gildor went on merry adventures towards ascension. Alas all was not well when the evil man (anonymous) became a privelaged officer in Gildor's guild. However annoyed with the fact that no one would give him 100k he set upon the guild kicking all members from this merry guild. But the guild could not be saved after being crippled the guild disbanded. Gildor was let guildless and so was his friend at frost gate who vowed never to join a guild again. As Gildor travelled across Tyria with his minions he longed for a guild. He ended the the titanic struggle against the mursaat and was reborn as Gildor Axewielder. Gildor A also ended the mursaat and the evil Lich guildless. He decided to help as many as he could and create a guild with a sense of community. He continued running guildies and all who dare accompany them in jounerys from ascalon to augry rock and ascalon to droknars forge. However Gildor in his quest for FoW armour his treasury has become all but depleted and now the runs to droknars are filled with scammers it is now not profitable.

Merry Christmas

Gildor

I am nimloth32. I am still new to Guild Wars. I am a young and honest man. I never cheated my lover. I volunteer to help in churches, handicap center etc. Although i never got a green item before (because i am too new), i always there when my guild member need help. In this christmas, i wish to make it meaningful but it is the season of giving and receiving. In game, i always happy to help any new player. For me, classifying someone as noob is not right because in fact, all of us are a 'noob' before becoming an expert right? Thank you for having these kind of activity. It makes christmas a more fun celebration to be. Merry Christmas Santa (no matter you are a fake one or not ) !! Peace bro!!

Dear Santa, since I can't write a letter due to my (limited) writing abilities, I wrote a story instead.

It was a cold day in the snowy Shiverpeaks, the bittering winds tearing through what little comfort she had found in the now-dying fire. She had been wandering through the mountains, seeking freedom from the Charr, but what she did not know is where it was and how to get there. For weeks she had been chasing a death, disguized as a dream that she so foolishly signed up for. Her fur-lined armor provided little warmth , as its usually warm material was overwhelemed by the deathly winds. Nature's agressiveness had pushed her to the limit, but she was driven to move on, to live a life so many desired, and so few have. She came across a corpse of a wolf, which took a toll on her spirit as she recalled her pet dying in front of her eyes, by the hands of a Stone Summit. On the twenty-fifth day, Laria was pushed to the edge of her existence, trying her best to live. She had been hit with searing pain with the knowledge that she will probably never see her companions again. Suddenly, she felt a divine presence behind her. "Could it be a monk?" she thought, "It may be an enemy." She drew her bow before her, her vision impaired by both sleeplessness and hunger. "Nay, I am harmless, steady your hand," the red-clothed man said. She did so. "Who are you?" she asked, keeping a firm hand on her bow just in case he was hostile, not that she could shoot, with her hands impaired by the cold. "Why, have you forgotten me already? No matter, most people don't even believe I exist." "Who are you!?" she impatiently demanded. "What do you seek?" he asked. "I seek salvation from the devil's spawn, the Charr." she hastily replied. "Why are you seeking something that has been so near this whole time?" he calmly replied. "A salvation? Here? Hardly, unless you call being frozen to death or being killed by a group of renegade dwarves a 'salvation'." She had neither the time, patience, or energy to deal with this man. "Fine then, suit yourself." the man said, as he disappeared in a divine light. She felt herself sink. She felt as if she was about to die. Laria closed her eyes, expecting to see Grenth judge her when she had opened those forsaken eyes, but however, she had not. She had opened her eyes to see a tree nearly half the size of the Great Wall. She observed her surroundings. The buildings looked strange, unlike Ascalon's charred 'masterpieces', they looked...peaceful. Could it be that she had made it to Kryta? "Hey Laria, I was wondering when you would show up! Devona and the others were worried while you just wandered off," Cynn's scolded the younger Ranger. She looked up to see a silhouette of a wooden vehicle, driven by flying deer, its passenger a man in red, all 3 moving silently through the black sky. and somehow, she felt as if she knew the man. After that incident, every twenty-fifth of the coldest month of the year, she told this tale, and how to treasure life. She had found true freedom.
