Why do People waste Money on 15k or FoW armor?
Dr Strangelove
Well, I got the money just by playing normally, so why shouldn't I buy it? Besides, I get compliments all the time on how nice my 15k studded leather looks. Should you buy it instead of a skill or a sup rune? No. Instead of a 10/10 sundering fellblade? Sure, why not, not like you were using all that cash for anything else. On another note, it's nice to have a challenge and a goal to meet once you beat the game. For me, increasing my chance of 10% armor penetration by 1% or increasing my max life by 1 just isn't that entertaining. Looking snappy on the other hand....

Well look at it this way...its variety. I mean i know there is not a huge amount of different armours in the game but its nice to see people with different armour isnt it? I really dislike bumping into people who look identical , makes me feel as if i came off a production line...Another thing is it gives something for those players that have done everything to work towards. I however think that people who combine different types of armours are the better ones, gives a fresh look that is o so hard to find in GW armours.

The bottom line is that it's a nice, rewarding avenue of spending the accumulated amounts of gold you build up while playing. Also a great goal for many to work towards. So no flaming needs to be done toward those who choose to save for 15K/FoW, or those who choose to be satisfied with Droknar's. Personally I have 6 PvE characters(one of each class), and 9 sets of 15K, 1 set of FoW across them all, so I obviously support the goal of saving for expensive armor...gives me something to work toward and keeps me playing! Nothing more needs to be said.

Whoh, threadomancy ... but here's the two types of posters in this thread:
Fashion > Function
Function > Fashion
Picture someone dressed in Gucci talking to someone dressed in Goodwill clothes
Gucci: "Wow, what awful clothes. My outfit costs $6,000"
Goodwill: "Wow, you spent $6,000 on clothes? What an idiot."
As you can see, this argument will most likely continue until the end of time itself ...

Because I like the way it looks, and it's not like we're talking about real money here. Most of the higher tier stuff in GW is built on vanity projects, if you don't care about how your character looks you're going to be very bored.
