I just did 2 runs and rezoned twice on the last run because it was a good spawn. I didn't have any luck in getting a IDS. The only problems(still not too hard) is when there are two Trolls. You just have to watch the skills that they use and watch for the intrupt.
The Ice golems are not that hard. The only Signet that gets slowed down is Dolyak sig. I don't even drop to a low enough health to use healing sig.
If any one want to see my armor/weapons/skills let me know I will get screen shots.
Also I always keep Watch Yourself!, Dolyak Signet, Elemental Resistance going at all times.
And Just for the record I don't need to use the Denravi Hex Helmet but if it can work for you go and get it. Dolyak signet doesn't even have a cast time so it can't be slowed down.

Cheers dude great vid. Tried once but the giants decided to mob up in the valley bit before you get to the cave. Nice and easy when you get going.

Like the title says, this is a great guide and very helpful (music wasnt bad either), i used the exact same skills and followed what you did and can kill all the imps/avicara/trolls and ice giants in the cave. Only problem is, after 23 runs that i have cleared out cave, i have gotten NO Icy Dragon Swords 
Youd think after all that time id get one... ohh well im off to try once more, thanks agian for the guide!

Ok well im still pretty new to the game *cough-49days* But yea ive been trying to solo run this run like 10 million time, I can get past everying and not even have a dought that i will get to the imps. Theres only one problem, Once i get there and I used my W/Me spell Elemental defese it works for like 2 seconds, and dissapears, and this morning i think they took out the trolls and seige. I always die here, what should i use to not die from the imps? that is if any of you know.

ele resistance disapears? are you using any other stance on top of it like sprint? stances dont stack, if you use sprint, resistance ends.
all you need to survive is right here in this thread: dolyak, watch yourself, ele resistance, platemail set with knights boots, crimson carapace shield, major absorbtion rune and take a weapon with +7 armor vs elemental to help out.

The ice imps outside the cave do drop IDS, I got one from the second imp I killed outside the cave on my 6th run using w/me build

First of all I would like to thank Kapper for this great Thread, but I have some problems with the Ice Imps.
The build I use:
Sprint - Flurry - Galrath - Final Trusth - Hundred Blades - Healing Signet - Dalyak Signet - Watch Yourself
Attributes:
Strength 8 + 3 : 11
Swordsmanship 11 + 1 : 12
Tactics 12 + 1 : 13
Armor:
Full 15k Gladiator set with Ascalon Helm
+ superior vigor
+ superior absorption
-> The collector shield +45 HP stance / -2 stance
-> The collector sword + 15% stance
When I'm running, 2 things can stop me: Heretics and The F*cking Mesmer Boss
Any hints on avoiding these ?
When I'm at the imps, i have problems maintaining my health and attacking at the same time so I just die...
If anyone can help me, has hints etc. feel free to help me

Heretic in Tasca's Demise ? It is no problem if you die there. When I ran, I often died by them , but then I ressed at the res point near the portal to Mineral Spring, so I can easily run to portal. 15% DP is nothing, don't worry.
I think you really need Elemental Resistance. "Watch Yourself!" and Dolyak is not enough, especially when you use Healing Signet ( -40 armor). Of course it is better if you have +5 armor on your sword, it helps to reduce damage. Elemental Resistance is stance, so you can't use Flurry, just swap it for another skill. And remember to use Healing Signet when you have at least 2 defense skills on you ( Elemental Resistance and Watch Yourself/ Dolyak Signet).

I know you can swap your second profession, but if I change again to Monk, will al those skills be still their. I mean, will I lose skills or anything else by switching ?

No, you will keep any skills for any class that you have unlocked ( learned) with that char.

I went to mineral springs with henchies to cap Shield of Judgement (got it), and decided to try my luck with the imps, got one on the first kill . I also got my new 15k glads infused that day... best drop i've ever had.

I wonder if it's possible to kill the ICE BEAST, it's just invincible with his mist form . Any hints ?

Sometimes the Stone Summit on the side just before teh gate into mieral springs get in my way, and they kill me before I can get in. Other times the giants kill me. Am i doing something wrong?

Destroyer, if you have enough attack power you can just swith an attack skill for Balanced Stance, that's what i do.
And for the stone summit: The heretics slow you down. I always get 15% DP when entering Mineral Springs. It's just normal.

Ran it and 18 imps, a troll and a siege golem later, got two IDS, without favor.

Well i have made like 600 grotto ice imps runs last weaks, and they DONT drop IDS. Tons of wands , artifcacts and hearts and some money but nothing else....

I don't mean to bash on anyone, but honestly people, I don't quite understand how hard it is to follow the SUPER simple instructions he layed out for you. I literally read this post yesterday, spent 5 mins reading his post, got the video, and did the run.
I don't even have armor on my sword (just a 15^50 fellblade), I don't have any superior runes, all minor ones and a major vigor, but i did get the Leuitenant's helm. Personally, I didn't really need it, but it does help.
I did the run twice, first time got to cave, died because of my own stupidity (no big deal), did it a 2nd time, and no problems, I killed the Trolls, killed the Golems, and Imps. No IDS, but very happy to see a successful build.
You have to make sure that you have the right attributes setup. Ele Resistance on my build lasts about 40 seconds, and it takes only 20 seconds to recharge (and I have inspiration at 4 i believe), so there should no issues having it up all the time!!
Simple Rule: SPAM Heal Sig, Watch Yourself! and Dolyak Sig whenever possible. The way I look at it, it's better if it takes you 3x as long to clear the cave and stay alive then to be in danger of getting killed because you get interrupted on heal sig when you need health.
The ONLY two things I would definitely have would be a Zealous Sword because it helps a lot in always having energy, but it IS possible to do without it, and i would swap an attack skill for Balanced stance to get past the giants easily (but I did without it).
I consider myself a noob/amateur player (even though I'm a quick learner), so if I can do it on the first try, SPECIALLY with such a great clear video and instructions, I don't see how anyone else can't. Just my 2 cents....

Wow, ive spent at least 70k on this build, and got everything almost exactly as you do (down to the mods on your swords, except mines a flamberge and req 9 not 8) and wasnt succesful up to today, when i found out what shield you were using, got 2 bleached shells and got it from the collector. I have succesfully cleared both parts of the caves of ice imps, plus 3 trolls and 2 ice golems. No IDS dropped, but Im now happy to see that the build works! Cant wait to get on tomorrow ! thanks much for making such a great vid and guide! :P

Great guide, really works well, but only problem i had is that, when i made the run, get to the cave, its impless.... i did run 2 times now and not a single imp to be found so is it me or has anet done sumthing again?

Ah nvm sorry for the post, i found out why cave was empty... I( had defend droks quest on, i turned it of, did the run and found IDS on my first run
