Point Blank Shot doesnt seem to get the damage bonus from Read the Wind... Why is that?

Does this spell and the ones for the other elements work with melee weapons? Or do they have to do that specific type of dmg before it works?

my W/N builds use Vampiric Gaze and Touch... everything else seems aight. Definitely use bonettis.
