i used to farm a boss right near there and near remember seeing it....maybe it is new item or something
Umm a tome is dropped in hard mode if you don't have hard mode you can buy from another player, but if your fairly new like your post says...
buy it from a skill trader or use a tome

Besides that the gwen titles are some of the easiest to get

push back all the heros except 1( for drop reasons) when I did this I used a BiP hero to recall back to so my energy could fill up faster
umm when you do the quest dont accept the reward rather abbandon it and take people with you when you redo. rinse and repeat as needed.
