Been having a few issues with vanquishing the EOTN areas in HM with my Ranger aswell but i found the following to be somewhat helpfull... 1.)...

If it says you completed the quest then follow the green marker on you're map, just remember to select the quest to get the green marker....

To be honest i see no problem with "Power traders" unless your poor in which case its not their fault they ask a high price for an item...
