Have Greens actually affected the prices of axes so badly? I remember selling a req. 10 14^50 Summit Axe for 18k + 1 ecto only a couple of months...

FYI, these are the staves that would fetch around 40k and above if you do find such a drop: MAX DMG STAFF (any profession or requirement) Halves...
Staff - Merchant or salvage if you have the patience to sell almost perfect mods. Other 2 - Merchant or sell for ~1k in Ascalon
16/20 are still good stats on a rod. 50k seems to be a good starting price for a requirement 8 with those stats.
