Shader model 3 does not make any difference at the minute as there is no games that support it yet, also the new x1000 sereies if card from ATI...
As far as I know there are no arena'a at those places.....
As your PC was bought ready assembled as a package then the psu should be fine, a blue screen generally is either a hardware issue or a driver...
