you do not even have to die once to kill him. But Yes 130 Hp dervish drops him fast and is a quick run to kill him and the warrior and ele bosses...
I farm the same places I always have before Hard mode. the only differance I can see is that it seems as the bosses drop dead fast in hard mode...

Also gold item prices should drop as well as I my self have had over 12 Dead Swords drop on as little as 6 runs. Granted most were not max stats...
