Maria, I thinks its the resolution problem... like on mine too, you cant really see the evil grin, but the original one was lot bigger. And screen colours are different too, etc. etc. I like how you used a weapon, and DONT worry about elimination, youre past shots were too good to forget!

Oh no! We aren't posting scores with the Evaluation post anymore like we use to, we are posting them on the eliminated/motw post. The reason for that was because in case of a double elimination, it wouldn't be dreadfully obvious which two contestants are off. Plus it makes things more suspenseful, like Malefic said in an earlier post, you have to guess who gets what from the comments like on the show.
Overall, we were pretty disappointed with the outcome this week, so we wanted to stir you guys up, we thought about throwing our first double eliminated, but, we decided to hold out on that. One thing that is definitely bothering us is that we have yet to see consistancy in anyone. Everyone has shown good stuff, everyone has shown ok stuff, and everyone had some disappointing shots. Ultimately, we're going to be looking for someone with the strongest overall performance...
And as for everyone complaining about resolution, thats is never a problem, i save and send both of the full/cropped pics to the judges as they came to me. I only reduce them so that i wont flood the thread with bigger pictures. So resolution is not a problem, unless you just sent it that way to us.

Well it would be nice to see the scores along with the comments, beacuse it would either give you worry or take your worry away, But it does make for an intresting thought on what the scores are. In fact, as silly as it sounds, I've been thinking about it a lot since I have seen the comments. and I've went over them again and again, Trying to figure out who's up for elimination and whos up for MOTW.
But i have to agree with Geishe too on the consistency thing. I think i learn a lot each week just by reading the judges comments on everyones pictures. And after i read them, I know more about what things are good to do and what things aren't good to do. I think the further this gets along, the better everyone will be.

Don't get me wrong! The consistancy factor isn't necessarily a bad thing, I love the fact that there has been no CLEAR choice winner. But at the same time, its also like who's the candidate that will be eliminated? I think everyone so far are on equal level of performance, everyone has done something great, something bad, and something in between the two. Just because it so happens that this person's performance this week wasn't strong and made them be on bottom two, doesn't mean that they wont dazzle us the next. And looking at past week performance, everyone has been pretty on point. So really, who gets eliminated? I can't exactly judge personality, and I feel past performance has been relatively equal among everyone...You guys see what I'm saying?
I would love to give everyone a chance to improve, but somewhere down the line, its going to get to the point where the slightest, most insignificant mistake sends you to bottom two, and whoops, these goes a double elimination time.
And I don't like how everyone is saying this was a hard shoot, I will never give you something that I haven't done myself. And I'm not saying I've done everything perfect, but the pictures I manage to pull off are decent enough to give me an idea of what I should expect. For this week, I took a picture with the five main gods, and I thought I did pretty well. For balthazar, I used Inferno skill which creates a ring of fire around your character and then after you cast it you land in the hunched over battle stance kinda thing. So with the ring of fire effect and that battle pose worked really well for the god of fire/war. For Lyssa, I manage to capture this part in a dance emote where my hands were about to raise up in symmetry that worked really well. and For Dwayna, i borrowed the paragon wings, and pulled off something nice as well. I only posted Melandru/Grenth because those were simple jump emotes, and I didn't want to give you guys too much thought about it, cause I know alot of you are creative, and this week was just not where I wanted it to go. And I know anything I can do, you can do as well.
So do not say something is too hard, don't fall into Smellrose's "perfectionist" personality, and feel that you need to cry and make excuses for every little mistake you make, cause its not coming off good. The whole my divine aura is getting in the way, oh the resolution of picture was blah, and its just too hard, my screen made the picture look lighter than it is. No. None of that. As much as I like the fact that you guys want to defend your pictures, just don't overdo it where it becomes a bad habit, where you become the next Smellrose. lol I'm not trying to be mean, i just want you guys to approach the situation as "I didn't perform as well as I could've, I will do better next week" rather than throwing excuses and making a hissy fit out of it. Again, I'm not trying to make a big deal of it or lecture you guys, but I know guys can do much better than what we saw.

I'm pretty happy I wasn't up for elimination, +3 I will never doubt you again.
I spent 3 full days of frustration trying to get a shot. From getting a good location to dealing with so many clipping problems I just got fed up and submitted something I wasn't happy with. Well I payed the price and will try to keep my frustrations to a minimum for the next shoot.
Oh, and sorry judges for the excuse train, I have a habbit of that and will try to honor and respect your judgements, because thats what you are there for.

EDIT: I know understand why I got that score through contact of LadyNilene. As she has said, the comments are edited, so I missed the point on what the judge said. It was my fault entirely on that specific shot.

To be told one thing that foreshadows dislike of your shot, and to be told straight in the face what to change are two different things. Trying to allow contestants guess what was wrong with their picture was the case that happened to me, and I got defensive and demanded an entire description of how to improve. LadyNilene was patient with me, and told me exactly what was disliked about my picture, and from that I know what to improve on.
My apologies for my farce, but I do like to tell all contestants that if you ever have any doubts or concern, do not be afraid to contact LadyNilene, she WILL tell you what was missed in the comments.

I have noticed that some of the competitors have the aura on the hands and the judges are looking at this and( kinda sorta) using it in the evaluations. But it doesn't seem so fair... not all the competitors have the aura. I personally think the judges shouldn't look at the aura if its in the picture and just believe that it isn't there all together. It just doesn't seem to fair to me.
And that magazine cover was kinda bad :X sorry to say. But where is the statues head. It was rally the gods assignment but the cover doesn't even show the head of the god! Just my opinion on it.

There's usually one plus size model in the competition, and you have to use those extra curves to your advantage, and for Christina on Cycle 4 who had small/skinny lips, they told her to stick napkins in her mouth to componsate. So when you do a screenshot, you just have to take it into account and componsate for its presence. It might be silly for us to expect alot, but thats how it is. And I think both of our divine aura people this week did a good job of effectively using their aura this week.

I even just noticed that I forgot to add Malefic Mistress' name on the bottom! I have no talent what so ever in photoshop. So i'm not expecting miracles lol And as for the statue head not being present, that's not something you should say. I'm allowing our contestants to crop their picture any way they like, so what if someone cropped their picture sideways and wont fit perfectly? You see what im saying, whatever I can squeeze in, is what gets in. That's all there is to it lol Trust me, its not rocket science, I throw it together in a minute, so it wont look great, wont fit perfectly...but it is what it is, and until i learn photoshop more, which i wont lol, thats how its gonna be, unless someone wants to volunteer and do those...lol but whatever
As for Geishe, I understand your frustration, but you have to realize that what I post is completely edited. Trust me, more was said, and more was debated than what you see. I try to post the gist and main point of view of that judge. You might also want to take into account that maybe that particular judge just liked another person's picture better than yours. Not all of us are going to have the same opinion, and as you can see, none of us had the same scoring. It could just be preference. And please, be careful with what you say in the thread, as I can assure you ALL of the judges read the thread, I just made sure of it that they were not to post. I'm a little surprised with this, right now, you're coming of as I did the best, I should've won, why wasn't my score higher??? Sometimes, you just have to show humility and just accept that maybe a judge just felt that someone else did better. You can't expect that if one judge rated you a 10, that you will get 10's with all the other judges, you just can't. I'm not psychic, so I don't know what goes on in the minds of the judges when they each individually do their ratings, but i can say that from the feeling I get on deliberations, and the scores that I get, everything pretty much matches up.

l O i think you understood me wrong. i meant no head in the magazine cover. im sure she cropped it with the head. the magazine just looks odd with a bathazar with no head

Alright guys, welcome to our fifth week of competition! you guys have worked with uncontrollable animals, you've worked with giant statues...so what could be next...?
Looking at our 5th week banner, can you guys guess what our next assignement will be? Maybe? Well if you haven't figured it out yet, you are going to work with the most self righteous species there is, the male model!!!
(From left to Right, Zalera The Reaper / Chad The Paragon / Brother Eratoi / Andy The Tactician)
Rember, as part of our set rules, you are to NAME any of the people that you used in your shot.
You are to work with ONE male character to construct a screenshot. You can use your friends or random people that just happens to be around, I picked up Chad and Brother just randomly, so if I can do it, you can too! lol
Also, keep note that you are the star of the shoot, so try not to let the male model take control of your shot! You might want to select backgrounds that will contrast your skin/armor tones and compliments his, or whatever. Just make sure you are the dominant presence in the shot!
Remember the rules and guidelines...other than that, good luck and have fun!!!
