I tried that IW Build for Kunvie, and i dont have a clue! how the hell you managed 2 get to him!! i die all the time! its impossible

actually there is no rez zone over there by kunvie. 
those carp r only the first obstacle. ill see if fraps will cooperate for me and ill do a fast vid. if u can cant understand my directions.
1. at the start rez point run towards the carps before u get in there aggro run back towards the rez shrine and run past. if your side has control of the shrine the gaurds will attack them. if your side doesnt the carps will stop just short of the shrine and stay right in front of it.
2. theres a a few patrols but they r easy to manage just stay to the far left and run when the grasppings leave.
3. u may have to run past the first group shirokens due to a pop up of outcast assasins. just go for the second group of shiroken as the first group will usually kill the outcasts if they fight.
4. once u clear the 3 groups of shiroken the fun begins trying to get kunvie to draw out away from other grasppings and carps. just watch there patrol patterns and keep PS and SB up at all times. he can hit hard thats where the DP came from
like i said hopefully ill get a fraps vid up soon for u guys.

This dude got it in his head that the 55 iw build should be a spirit bond build >.<
As to mor I havent had any issues with mana...I think it's all about timing. If a visage is up when you draw agro the sins mana should be drained to prevent disrupting stab, the agro is where IoW comes in handy, have Mor up then I cast visage>PS>SB then agro and recast SB and ps before the sins can group around me then MoR and the second visage. Perhaps the lack of FC is the difference, 1/4 second PS becomes .16 and SB becomes .66, the total casting time for both together is under 1 second.

[/QUOTE] no need for that i have been playing GW for a very long time and was one of the first to come up with 105/55 monk builds for UW plus ive beaten prophicies with her as a 55 when ppl said it really couldnt be done. i look for the hard stuff to do. just my way of farming. lol when i do spider cave i head to the front and clear the abysalls and rangers lol. ofcourse all those RTS games helped to pick up on the small details of things.  by the way youtube's giving me probs loading the video any ideas of a better place to host it would be appreciated. just shows how to get past the carps. i thought that everyone alrdy did the shirokens on the back side also. so i wasnt worried about doing anything on it. so srry if the vid isnt that good. but i figured id try kunvie and it worked you'll just have to figure the part of getting him on your own guys. however ill give a hint- thats why i have conjure nightmare on my bar. if u guys ever need a question or something im on one of my 2 accounts in game. didnt solo hells i used the exact same build though that i do solo with when i did that.
 and i havent done it in a long long time before anet nerfed a lot of things. oh and by the way u can also kill Merki the Reaver too doing the run. hope u guys like this pix too.

First of all, grammer is your friend. Im not entirely sure what your post MEANT. And claims of "Ive beaten prophecies solo when people said it couldnt be done" and then on your very next post admitting to the fact that you have not, at least, solo'd Hells Precipice does little more the label you a liar.

i didnt say i soloed with her. i said i beat prophicies as a 55 monk with the same skills as a solo monk. sorry if u got confused on that but nowhere did i say i soloed and beat it.

Wait, so you were bragging because you, amongst other accomplishments, beat Hells Precipice with, what, Henchies? Players? While you, a 55 monk, remained subpar?
I dont think many people will say thats impossible, but most will agree that its something you probably shouldnt do.

back to topic heres a pix of merki's sheild drop. u can solo him but if u see a reef lurker close attack it and bring him with u when u attack merki's its for the extra energy from its attack.

Getting to Kunvie and solo'ing her isn't impossible. I've done it on my necro spirit bonder:

Well here's my contribution....
When your anti farm code kicks in on shiroken, you can go kill...... Silent ancient Onata!! (I know he drops a crappy green, but it's fun anyway) I bet you can solo the whole thing there with the right build... but the mesmers own me with diversion. I'm thinking of trying holy veil since that will reduce the diverson to like 2-3 sec, making it managable. If anyone figures it out, let me know. Melkorium
Yay someone else is taking the farm further and killing Kunvie. Managed to do it myself when I start adding IW in case any Shiro'ken didn't drop.

W00t got to kunvie! but the carp killed me! need 2 get to that spot, so they miss me :\ was just dreaming, cuz i got to it
OMG!!! i did it!! no drop though! its really easy, just getting 2 him is hard, i had 41%dp :P but i done him w00t he's easy now, no drop yet though

Can anyone help me with this - total respect to OP by the way. My Mo/Me can do the first group on the stairs but after that I get hit by shroud of silence and can't get Prot Spirit and Spirit Bond up reliably I don't wand anything I was thinking of using Holy Veil (although this means I will be down 3 pips of regen) and maybe Spellbreaker to keep this Hex off of me How does everyone else deal with Shroud of Silence ? Thx All Permasiel

So - does this mean the AI doesn't consider you a caster class if you have a melee weapon equiped and therefore doesn't consider Shroud of Silence appropriate ?

Noop... just Shiro'ken Assassins for some reason. If you want to test this run up to a group of Oni with your nifty sword/axe and see how long it takes them to cast Shadow Shroud.
The easiest (and most probable) way that ANet will nerf this is to fix the Shiro'ken Assassins.

I dont think they will for a while as it's really not horrdendously profitable, you can get messed up fairly often, and Mesmers are getting their chance to shine just a bit more

for those people having trouble to get to merki, pull the pop up outcasts to the first group of shirokens. the shirokens will kill outcasts.
once the pop ups are taken care of, you can pull merki without aggroing any other groups. still waiting for my first shield drop...
