Will nightfall offer enough stuff to entertain us?

So, tell me, how do you post from the universe next door?
He already posted that Anet lost big time on Factions in another thread.

Obviously he has no idea what he's talking about, he was referring to NCSofts earnings - and if he read that properly sales were UP by quite a margin, the reason NCSoft lost money had nothing to do with Factions - this person is clearly wants Factions to seem like a financial failure and that Anet is going downhill - but he can live in his own parallel universe if he wants to i just wish he'd stay there for good.

Ok, firstly, No. Nightfall will not offer enough stuff to entertain us. It will offer enough stuff to entertain a good portion of us though. There will, as always, be that annoying few that keep buying chapters, even after swearing "I'll never buy GW again, EVAR!!!" and keep saying that it was too short, not immersive enough, no level cap raise so it ish teh sux and so on and so forth.

For the average Guild Wars fan, nightfall will probably please you. If you're a troll, you'll hate it, just like you hate everything in life.

Now I remember reading in an interview somewhere that the Factions Team started work about half-way through Prophecies being made, so I don't see how the Prophecies team could have split. I also recall reading in another interview (I think it was with Jeff) that they have been 2 seperate teams all along. Don't quote me on this though, I'm pretty sure, but not certain.

ok ok after reading what is going to be in nightfall It sounds really hot!

maybe the game is worth getting after all.

however there still needs to be other thing other than farming for end game content. the fact you ride wurms is coolness factor!!

It sounds like nighfall will be a sell out :P I still have to play the game to find out. Even got a real d&d wrighter I have to say sorry to anet for saing they don't anything about rpgies. they were smart enough to get a wrigther so I am really looking forward to playing nightfall. it will be hard for me to play this game and doing life stuff. However You will be beating I will be giving major feed back on the nightfall game. I am pretty sure this maybe a sell out. it is really sounding that way.

I recall reading that CoH/V and Auto Assault (especially the latter) had disappointing performance and that Guild Wars was doing pretty well.

I missed the other thread. I'm not sure I want to look it up.

NOPE ON ALL COUNTS

FACTIONS was started on release of GW at which teams were split and more people were hired to fill out both teams plus a smaller 3rd events team.

Nightfall was started 6 months after GW release (Factions had 6 months work then)

chapter 4 started on release of Factions.

1 year on each chapter with 2 teams on a 6 month stagger.

that is why Factions came out in a year and Nightfall 6 months later

here is the important part that doomboy paid no attention to

However, operating income saw a downturn due to the one time write-off (approximately KRW 12.6 billion or US$13.1 million) of costs related to sluggish sales of Auto Assault(R), released in North America and Europe during the second quarter. Excluding this write-off, both operating income and pre-tax income grew by 64% from the previous quarter while operating income and pre-tax income declined by 17% and 11% respectively from the previous year.

What was the Nightfall team doing in that 6 months between GW release and when they supposedly started work? Twiddling their thumbs?

and possibly their toes as well.

i would guess they were doing advance work and kicking around ideas and concepts (my guess remember)

so i dont actually have a clue except JEFF STRAIN stated Nightfall started 6 months after Factions which was itself started at the release of GW

I welcome ANY new features that NF is offering. Compared to Factions (which is a farce imo), Nightfall will definitely keep me entertained for a long while. Lookin forward to it.

Factions was just bad. I used to LOVE Guild Wars back in the day but, really it's alot of money for a the little content there will really be. I have other games I can play and am not going to make another foolish mistake to get Nightfall, beat all the mission content in 2 days and get bored doing guild runs all within a week.

I've been playing GW off and on since the Alpha/E3 event and find it kind of funny how they ar cranking out these expansions with a pretty high pricetag for what it really is. New content for an already built game engine.
