Nightfall Prerelease Bonus Pack Details

Not all stores are giving you the $5 off the price of the game. For example, neither Gamestop nor Ebgames is giving the $5 back. You can even look on their website and see that if you get the game plus the pack, it costs $5 more than just the game.

It doesn't make you look "insane" if you type it. Sorry, but you remind me of the guy on MSN who pretended he had terrets by typing random things in caps.....

I went to ebgames today to pay for my reserve my copy of nightfall. I asked if i can get the pre release bonus pack the seller said it only came w/ the CE. I told him that on the ebgames website it sold the regular game, starterpack, CE, and CE w/ bonus pack. He told me if i reserve it I automatically get the bonus pack. I went ahead and paid for the regular version of nightfall for 53.94 total. I didn't have to pay the $5.00 extra. Hopefully when i go pick it up they will give me the bonus pack like the seller said.

I wish they were going to be available at walmart...We dont have an ebgames, or gamestop near, and I dont want to give amazon any credit card information.

It would probably be a better idea to see if they'll let you pick up the bonus pack on Sep 15. They are subject to availability and what not so you might want to grab it as soon as you can, as unlikely as it is they'd run out or anything....

But I suppose normal preorder still gives you the Soulbreaker and Sunspear, right? As with GWP and GWF. That the prerelease pack is only for the extra free char slot, and the real life items?

What he was trying to explain is that the prerelease bonus pack is a seperate retail box you have to buy. There is no free package for placing a preorder, all you get when you preorder is.... a reserved copy of the game.

p.s. if you didn't quite understand that, no, you wont get the Icy Soulbreaker nor the Sunspear

The PRE ORDER BONOUS PACK is NOT THE SAME AS JUST PREORDERING THE GAME.

You can pre order the game.. with out the "BONUS PACK" It'll cost you the same as the game costs.


You can Pre Order the game WITH THE BONOUS PACK. It'll cost you about $5 more.

Why is there confusion? Which part is difficult?


If you do not PAY for the bonus pack, you do not GET the bonus pack. It's a seperate item.

If you've preordered your game already, and didn't pay the $5 for your bonous pack. Don't expect it to show up. It ain't going to happen. The bonus pack is a seperate thing a different box. A different thing on the "Shelf"

If I walk in and Buy Sims 2, I don't automaticly get Sims 2 University. I have to pay for it.

If I order a bundel package online. I get um both but I pay for them both.

The bonus pack is exactly like this. It's an ITEM you "Can CHOOSE" to purchase. If you want.

It's not in any way a freebie.

Nor does buying it give you money back on ordering the game. Nowhere does it say that. It's just cheep. $5 isnt much for what you're getting. At all.

People that think you're getting the bonous pack because you pre order are WRONG.

You can BUY the bonous pack WHEN you pre order. You don't have to, nor does it automaticly happen.

lol, I'm flattered that you took the time to type all that shit :P. I know I have to order it seperately, JUST LIKE WITH THE FACTIONS PRE-ORDER PACKAGE. Still, it did NOT cost us anything extra, since the cost of the pre-order package (WHICH I HAD TO ORDER SEPERATELY FROM MY CE, YES) was deducted from the price of the game. So, can you now answer my question, without going into this silly rant mode of yours? . Did one of the devs say it will be different fromt the Factions pre-order package (WHICH I TOO HAD TO ORDER SEPERATELY?). I know I have to pay for it, but will I get that money 'back' when I get the full game?

yes the customer reps have answered this officially.

it will depend on the individual store.

so far there are none that offer it as a get your money back preorder option.

the difference is simple.

the previous preorders had nothing of actual value in them.

Nightfall has no preorder box for it just the game in regular/CE flavors

instead of a deductable preorder box Nightfall has a RETAIL PRERELEASE box which includes a 10 dollar value slot.

everybody so far is offering this NEW RETAIL BOX at 5 dollars.

this retail prerelease box is not in any way a preorder box.

I believe it's been stated that it's retailer's choice, so some people are getting screwed perhaps, but I know that they were free the first two times around I don't see why they would start charging five bucks for em now.

I have a conspiracy theory on that.

It's all Best Buy's fault.

See, they charged $10 (TEN DOLLARS) for the Faction Preorder. Sure, you could get the $10 back, if you bought Factions at Best Buy, but they didn't advertise that fact, so I'm sure some people just spent $10 on a product Anet claimed they were not charging the stores for.

Anet saw this, realized the $$$ potential, and decided to sell the Nightfall pre-release packs for $$$ to stores (adding a bonus slot as incentive).

The reason Gaile claims it's still "store choice" is some stores might eat the cost of the pre-release themselves in the hopes of getting people to buy the game there (by deducting the pre-release cost from the Retail Package?). I hope some stores do this, at least.

That's my theory, anyway, and is just based on observation, nothing official from Gaile or Anet.

It's a very simple thing to understand. None of the stores are offering your money back. If it's their option to do so or not, it matters little, if they don't give it back. Nowhere on any of the 3 places listed as selling it, is there any mention of rebate.

I looked on each of the places on the page. None of them said anything about giving you money back.

But you can troll some more and say you don't understand or post up things with no support like "But I heard from a friend of my cousin's sept dad's brother's girlfriend, that they might give the money back" And you'll get another 5 to 10 people saying how it's now so.

Just to be clear: although it cetainly appears the pre-release will cost extra money (which is fine by me, BTW); there is always the chance of finding a store that will give us the Pre-release for a $5 deposit.

This would obviously be most likely at a store where the clerks don't know any better, and make the assumption that this pre-release is just like Factions. Confusion FTW.

I suspect if any do find such a deal, they will share their find with the rest if us.

pre-order = verb

pre-release package, starter kit, presale kit, etc = a $5 cd and code

you can pre-order a pre-release kit from all the same places you can pre-order nightfall.

pre-ordering alone will not give you a free pre-release package.

I vote we stop explaining this over and over and just let these people cry when they see our glorious sunspears and soulbreakers.

As far as the guy who doesnt trust amazon-> thats silly. The thing to not trust would be your computer before Amazon. Ive never once had any kind of problem with amazon and Ive been using it since 2000. But hey, your call/ your headache.

I preordered the prerelease from amazon, and preordered the gwN:CE as well (i didnt look around for deals because 5 bucks is not important to me)

with overnight shipping a package like mine will cost you 80-90 bucks. take it or leave it, but I know ill be happy (didnt get CE for factions... wished i did)

here is the fun part.

i got my order in to Gamestop at the very start before they changed it from a preorder *bonus* to what it is now as a Retail prerelease box.

i sent the person who said if you have any questions about your order email me at.................

i asked if they would honor the purchase as is or charge more and i still have not gotten a response.

i have also not gotten the standard *due to circumstances beyond our control* email stating a higher price either.

if i am lucky they will honor the few who got in early to avoid a bunch of complaints

soon my precious we will hear what happens

Of course, that doesn't help those of us who haven't ordered the pre-release yet.

I plan on calling / dropping buy all the stores in my area next week to find the best deal. I will certainly keep all of you posted. (so far, my research has netted a lot of confusion from employees, so hope springs within me.

the Factions CE is still available if you want it that bad....
