50% Marker on HP bars

Certain skills benefiet from knowing when your opponent is below 50% hp. Sometimes it looks like they are just below, but come to find out when you use the skills they weren't, and you just missed a good oppurtunity.
I think it would be very easy to just place a little marker at the 50% mark on the HP bar. Once the little line at the end of the "red" falls past the marker, you know your opponent is below 50%.
An even more ideal fix would to display your opponents actual HP. Somewhere on the bar it could show there current hp/total hp. Although, this isn't really neccissary.

Ingenious. Just a little tic on the bar to indicate the point of "No Return!"... well, ok, not no return, but you know what I'm saying.

considering the number of mods that are 15^50 or the like i don't see this as a bad idea, as long as it includes our own health bars.

I think we should have a little number at the end of our health bars, just next to the condition/hex/enchantment arrows, that show how much dp they have.

Perhaps the health bar should turn a darker shade of red when under 50% health instead of a line, might make them stand out more and be a bit clearer.

I agree about the tick on the hp on 50% and also about the DP but only to party memers...and maybe more discret - ctrl+click on party member repots the DP only to you.

Some will do the math and some are more visual. Besides someone may be switching weapons and even armor during action that change the hp amount. So it would be good to see the 50 percent mark visually. And using the interface options to make the bar bigger should make it so we can see it in the corner of our vision, when looking directly at something else.

the line might be hard to see. perhaps changing the bars color. I would also like to have a bar that tells you when hexes wear off of the enemy. this way you can keep up with your casting. some builds are primed to run on timing.

changing colors may work, but i'd prefer it be an interface option. I myself may keep thinking I've been caught by a hex or condition if I see it change color.

Showing Others Total Hp and stuff /NOT SIGNED.. Simply becouse this will have bad effects like exactley showing Spike teams who they can easyly spike and well, going that far we might aswell show their skills and attributes? So Mark for 50% hp - Yes, Show Enemys exact hp - Hell no..
Also, This could kinda help ppl to lets say chance their weapon to a 20v50 weapon when getting under 50% hp.. >_>

I think that's a very good idea. Should be easy to add and would help a lot. Although I don't wait for the health to drop too low while monking, sometimes I feel like the additional healing from Word of Healing should trigger, while in fact it does not. With a marker like that, it would be much easier to know when a skills or weapons above/ lower 50% description or mod would trigger.

I also disagree with showing exact health of enemies, but only because I wouldn't want anyone knowing too much about me in a pvp match(though I would love to see how much health monster bosses have). The health marker(of whichever kind) would be very useful.

I'm more inclined to go with the idea of custom markers on your health bar, so you can put your own up, but allow for the allocation of set marker points like a 50% marker as the OP suggested.
Because there are situations where you would want to know when your foe is at 20% health for example.

This is part of the many challenges the game has to offer (and tbh this one is pretty minor). Regarding enemy/opponent markers I agree with Sereng. Regarding your own/ally health-bar(s), just use your intuition. I play as a WoH healer most of the time and I manage just fine. Of course it would be convenient, but the price would be a lesser challenge.

i thought it's primiarly for WoH... though i use my judgement any way... i have to say, it'd make WoH alot more boring, as all you need to do is watch until hp fall below the red line

Some strategies and conflicts should not be determined by the quicker person who can judge the percentage of one's health bar at a glance. This just makes it easier for everyone to use their skills and strategies to the fullest. I see nothing wrong with that in the least. Just because you can tell when your life is at 50% doesn't mean others can. Anything that puts everyone on a level playing field is a definate thumbs up.

Notsigned, too much info for the foes. Next thing people will suggest is auto-blinking for skills which have a greater effect when health is below 50, and one day we're all just sitting there and watching bots kill each other because they surpass human reaction times.

But, the simple solution would just to set up your health bar such that it can be split in half by a line created by your skill bar.
Can't remember if this is the default setting, but it's similar to how my bar is set up and what I use. Where I just use the skill bar to know what percentage of health I have left. You can also do the same thing with the enemy health bar by using another icon or other marker from your display to indicate where the halfway point is.

I watched a friend of me play World of Warcraft (just watched, trust me), and I was fascinated about the information the priests (WoW-monk) got from their team members.
I would like to see a lot of these features in the 'customize' part of the menu, so u have more control over yourself and your team. With the current resolutions people play, u have more room on your screen for information.

I'd like it. It be very nice for several classes and numerous skills, but I'm rather fond of the colour code. Health bar is green at 75%+, yellow 50%+, red 25%+. Actually, it'd be cool to have this option under the interface tab.

/signed for the half-way marker. Good idea. I'd like to see the 50% marker put "behind" the health bar, a visual warning that only becomes visible when you're at or below 50%.
