I miss the old ones. I don't really like the EotN one.

If any1 really wants this and to get uber kudos from the community it would be perfectly possible to Hax the client, in a similar way to texmod I'm guessing, since the login screen is just.
But of course if Anet relies on this happening I would think that would be incredibly lazy =P

1)And if Gaile's said its impossible she's a lying b!+ch =P... which she thankfully isn't (unless you'd like to prove me wrong?)
Very slight chance i could be difficult, but definitely not impossible.(if it were impossible, does Anet perform a miracle ever time they update it???)
2) necromanced threads show that there is still interest in the topic, and that the search button is being used... can't see how thats a bad thing?

This has actually been suggested multiple times before. And yes Gaile has come out and posted on threads requesting that it is quote "impossible" to do. For example, when NF came out, they had to update the login screen to allow use to display multiple bought character slots as well as links to the ingame store.

Now, I assume you are implying that I'm am the liar. I am not. I can't find the post exactly, but Gaile has bluntly said "no" to this.

Does Gaile calling something "impossible" even mean anything? Seems like it's what ArenaNet uses as an excuse when they have no other excuses (ex: 7 heroes).

It would make infinitely more sense if she said "no", than "it's impossible!", and it really is a shame, cos all that effort they put into the previous screens would b wasted.
Heres an idea: how abt they make em into screen savers =P!!!

Actually it does since she dirrected the question to the programmers (since there was such a demand for the old factions login screen) and they told her no, who in turn told us no.

I'd love this idea. I take lots of screenshots, some of my characters at the title screen. Some different backgrounds for each would be nice, especially if I get bored with one even without taking pics. /signed

Anet has already addressed this issue before and their answer is "No".

idk if they would ever implement it but I was always fond of the original campfire selection screen where you can see all of your characters at once. But even if its not added oh well. cheers.
