Well it took me a week to get a real answer from EBGames/Gamestop via phone. According to them, since it is not necessary for the preview events, they are "saving customers money by shipping it with the game release" When I asked bout why their website says it ships in 24 hours, they said that only applies if all you are ordering is the starter kit. I pointed the supervisor to the guild wars .com page stating it was released for distribution on Sept 15 and that they are listed as a primary to get it, he said only those ordering ONLY the starter kit get it shipped within 24 hours. So...I told him that basically telling us we gotta pay 5 bucks more if we want it now and all he did was repeat again about it not being a pre order bonus item.
well ...bet you can guess what my next statement was....yup..I cancelled my order and reordered from Amazon. Sure I wont get the bonus items but I never used the ones from the Propheses preorder and only used the Factions weapons for bout a week. And if I need another characterslot, well I rather pay Anet for the slot than give anymore buisness to EBGames/Gamestop

I'm really really confused as to why, if it doesn't give you a whole lot you can use NOW, why the heck is it a "prerelease?" Either way, I've decided that it's all but pointless to run around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to find this thing when it's not gonna give me anything early.

From what I've heard from store managers here.. The latest directive from EBgames Managers at higher levels is to NOT give out the preorders to anybody who preorders UNTIL the game is released (to give them with the game) (which makes no f-ing sense whatsoever in my books.. A PRE-order is just that.. stuff to get you hyped about buying the actual game)
Personally, I think EB Games /Gamestop is just being money-grubbing Hoe s. The preorder pack is supposed to spark interest in the game, and be given out at minimal to no cost. However... EBGames KNOWS that the guild-wars preorders have had valuable things in them since the time of the first Guildwars release (Prophecies), and they KNOW they can milk this one for all its worth. They were probably getting people in who were putting down their (insanely stupid) minimum $5 for the preorder, then taking their preorder packages and never buying from their $hitty, overpriced store (Like myself, -- they never bothered to contact me about my Factions CE when it came in) . So, this time, they won't give em out until you buy the actual game.. Which again, in my mind is total BS..
Gamespot, and all these companies out there paid NOTHING for these preorder packs.. Therefore they should not be CHARGING extravagant amounts for them..
Hell, I got 3 free Guild Wars Prophecies Preorders from Futureshop and Bestbuy here in Canada... (ok, I paid $0.03, sorry). A company should not be charging you for something they got for free, then not delivering on their part of the bargain by witholding the damn preorder package. EBGames will never get any of my serious business. I'd rather go somewhere else where they actually value their customers and want to make them happy.

I was not expecting to get the 'pre-release' pack, as I was expecting to have to pay for it, but my local EB called me and said 'pick 'em up.' I went to the store and had a brief conversation with the manager there, and he assured me that it was free with my pre-order. That being said, I was happy to take it off his hands.

The Gamestop in my area has the Bonus Pack, and if you pre-order Nightfall for $5 (deductible from the price of the game when it's released) at the same time as buying the Bonus Pack, there is also a $5 reduction in price on the game; at least that's how they explained it to me. Not sure what their price on the game is, if it is more than 50 bucks, I will be raising some hell.

Hi, I pre-ordered my nightfall game from Amazon.co.uk . It said that they supply the pre order pack, however, is it like the orgional GW games where it just got sent to you? Or do you have to buy it seperatly this time? It's just that I still havn't got the pack yet, is this normal?

The main problem I have seen with the Pre-order packs for Nightfall (and saw with Factions), is that not all retailers have the pack available for purchase on the date the pack is supposed to be released. Anet and NCSoft need to do a better job of making sure all retailers have the pack out on the shelves on its release date. I work at Target and we didn't get the Factions pack until two weeks prior to the full retail release. Same seems to be happening with Nightfall. I found one Gamestop who just happened to have the pack out (by accident as I found since I was told that they wouldn't be available until the full release of the game next month).
There also seems to be the ongoing problem of the cost of these Packs. Anet says they're free with the money you pay for them being deducted from the cost of the full retail game. However, one Gamestop manager I spoke with showed me an e-mail stating that the Packs are not free but the $5 charge for them is strictly for the pack, and not a "down payment" as it were. My gamestop is claiming that the preorder and bonus discs are two seperate things! They said I bought the preorder but if I want the bonus disc I have to shell out another $5 dollars (those 5 don't count towards Nightfall). Is any other store doing this? I'm almost 100% positive that the bonus disc is included with the dumb preorder...

I think someone told me that gamestop does make you pay extra for the bonus disc; but you get priority when they come in if you preordered. EBgames gives them free though I believe.

Yes..... the CE and standard edition both give 2 slots when added to an existing account.... + the bonus pack slot...... = 3 new slots >_<

Anet does not make a profit off the prerelease packs evident from the fact that some places are still handing them out free with preorder. So regarding how many dollars they have lost the answer is zero; they have lost zero dollars. Amazon sold out of the bonus packs weeks ago; what you saw was a listing for an individual seller. It's basically like posting on ebay; he charges whatever he wants to. It's likely some dork that bought all five copies his local EB got and now he's reselling them for major profit.
If you just wait a bit; I'm sure one of your local retailers will get it in eventually.

It is up to the store whether they give it to you as a preorder bonus.
Gamestop and EBgames consider it a seperate thing and don't include it free with the preorder through online purchase (Ebgames is in response to Sith, that implied EBgames is different, it isnt, EBgames=Gamestop)

I have not recieved my Bonus Pack from Gamestop, even though I got my shipping confirmation a week ago. (Order Status is Shipped, got an email saying it would be here within the week, and the money was taken from my account for the purchase). i'm emailing them today about this.
EDIT: Got it all solved and got my Bonus Pack.
When I emailed Gamestop, They gave me basically a "we dont care -dont email us" email saying that they shipped it on time, and shipped it to the right address, so bug off if I dont get it thats tough.
But when it FINALLY get here, I noticed that the Zip Code on the package was wrong (even though it was right on the packing ship and order tracker), and it had traveled through like 3 Post Offices before it was fixed and got to me, and the Package had been beaten up and torn and such during this process.
Moral of the story is, I already stopped using EBgames over Factions, But I thought I'd try Gamestop even though its the same company up at the top running both, and that was a poor decision. Now I will not touch EITHER for ANY gaming needs.

However they would not let me purchase it seperately without preordering Nightfall. The only bonus is that it was free if I preordered the CE, full price ($5) if I just preordered the regular edition. So since I wnat the CE anyway I prordered it there. Just did not like being forced to if I wanted the "seperate" prerelease retail package.
Since all I paid was $5 for the preordering I may just pick up the CE somewhere else anyway.

I had a similar BestBuy experience.
Except I went into my local BestBuy today ( 9/28 ) and they do not have the pre/bonus pack yet. The rep looked it up on his inventory computer and all it said is that 12 were on the way, but no clue as to when they would arrive.
