To be specific about the problem I'm having:

1. Bought the Standard Retail version from EB Games
2. Installed GW:NF on my machine
3. Loaded GW client, downloaded patches, etc.
4. At login screen, went to first option below login, "Add new access key to exsisting account"
5. At Access key menu, checked left hand box to allow me to add a new key to my exsisting account.
6. Begin typing in the 25 character access key, example: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. With Nubers and letters in place of the "X's."
7. After approximately 15 characters, without dashes, even though there's room left, the input bar refuses to accept new characters. Therefore I can not input the entire key, therefore it won't be accepted.

I feel your pain. I stopped by Electronics Boutique and picked up my preorder noon today on my way to work, and when I got home just now I tore open the box, installed the game clicked on add key to my account and went through the box looking for the key and there is NO KEY!

I have been over every piece of paper and the box a dozen times. Called EB and they told me to bring it in tomorrow. Still highly disappointed though... One thing is for sure I'm opening the box before I leave and make damn sure it has a key.

I can't find the bonus music key in my CE. Was this just me?

Oh Noes! The 'burbs!

The bonus music key is on the same paper as your CE key.

I've waited two years to see an option to turn off Screen Flashing during first person view. This is an ancient problem with a simple solution, and I imagine only new threads like this will be where any attention is payed to the issue.

My hearing impaired friends also loath the flashing, it's a universally hated feature of all computer programs, especially when it can't be disabled. Not that we're a huge portion of the community, but flashing/flickering screens are an eyebrows-up signal to all of us that you have no deaf or hearing impaired testers, programmers, etc - or this would have been killed in update #1

Turn attack/damage flashing off? Click Yes/No.

Still absolutely adore GW, and this is such a small negative compared to the fantastic visual and plot wonders you have created.

Off to play some more. Thanks for: listening.

Good news, my problem can be chalked up to personal stupidity and not paying attention. One less thing for A.Net to fix.

How do you get the bonus music key to work. It has less characters than your typical key and you can't hit enter until the whole thing is filled in?!

I saw an offer for the Eye of the North pre-order. I know that said expansion is available fully right now, but the box says that you can unlock special weapons that you can use. I only started playing a few month ago, so I'm still in Pre-Searing leveling-up. I would very much like those weapons, but I'm afraid I'll be ripped-off of my money since the code gives access to a Special Weekend that past a long time ago.
I would like to now that if I buy the pre-order, even though I probably won't be able to be in the game, that can get the weapons.

I am hesitant to say that that you will get the weapons by simply adding the pre-order key without having a retail version of EoTN also on your account because of this talk page that is never really clarified(I don't know where Joe is quoting and Gaile doesn't contradict it). That issue aside, provided the key is unused I don't see why you won't get the weapons, I know I've gotten them while in Pre-Sear(but I also have all the games on my account). Of course the preview weekend doesn't apply and the cost of buying the pre-order won't go to reducing the cost of a retail version of EoTN.

Thanks for the info. I'll go ahead and buy it, is only 4 bucks. I hope they are worth it. I'll let you know.

I added an EotN pre-order key a month ago, it worked just fine. The account only has Prophecies & Nightfall on it, no "full" EotN.

I received the reg edition of the first Guild wars a few years ago and i have bought the expansions each time they have come out, and my question is if i buy the collectors edition of the first game can i add that key to my account now and gain the CE's special aura feature on my account ?

Thanks.

Yes. It should be noted though, that the aura would be the only thing added to your account. And that the original CE is extremely rare(and expensive) at this point in time.
