Im actually not too much of a fan of the new armor... at least from those pics. As ive always said...if Factions did something right it was definately the armor. I think factions armor will be my fav for a while yet.

But im VERY happy to see about the ingame collectors edition extras....TY MUCH ANET!

Gaile, can we please get official word on if the "Nightfall signature dances for your characters" is just for paragon and dervish or if it is for all professions?

yeah^ yet another ambiguous statement on the CE emotes...

I dont even need to wait for the download to know what the female dance is, I kind of expected the traditional dervish-style dance....

Looks like the paragon's got some soul fever. Very nice for both imo... usually the female dances are more 'pretty' whereas the male dances are more 'entertaining'

I was lookin forward to the Electric Slide, but there are plenty of chapters yet to come.

Oh Cause Future Shop and Best Buy have the standard priced at $49.99 so I thought you had found the CE for $59.99. Well whatever, 69.99 is still a damn good price... *hopes a store will put a discount on Nightfall* Best Buy did it once, they can do it again!

must.....not.....pre-order.......stay away from the credit card!!!

<slaps wrist>

ah, better now, but WILL definately want the CE for this one as well, if I get nightfall---------but I wont fall into the pre-order trap this time
Learned my lesson, now I will just sit and wait, not so patiently for it to come to a store near me........only about a month to go, and still have a few new characters running around the first 2 chapters to keep me busy!

glad they listened to the players and made stuff for the rit and sin----or many people would have been very unhappy. Good choice Anet!

Hm, giant rat pet......hm, my name is cosyfiep---which is a stuffed toy mouse made by steiff.....already HAVE a pet rat plush! dont know if I need one in game though...................would be hard to part with my crab!

Well i gotta say, is WOW, thats going to be sweet. Hopefull their will be alot of CE out so everyone can get them and not have the problem we had before. Anywho i can't wait. Thats the best CE ever!!! WOOT!!

The dances are not bad. the First one looks like a ballerina dance and of course the other is MJ.

Also those are just 1 set of the new armors, just to give a hint that their will be new armors for all the classes, well have to wait to see the rest.

The rat looks like the ROUS (redents of unusual size) from The Princess Bride.

As for armour, I agree with others that they look great- definately some improvements over Factions (though I still like my Kurzick Warrior armour). Finally Monks can look sort of cool.

Also glad to see the CE won't be as lame as I thought (from earlier info). guess I'll be joining up on the pre-order list as well.

Looking forward to it Anet!

I see that people don't get that the dervish is doing a dervish dance (but then again I'm probably expecting too much from people)

Other than the fact that not many people know about actual Dervishes...

Anyone could have mistaken that as a Ballerina dance if they didn't know about real Dervishes.

As I read that, my genitals felt as though they were about to melt.

Fortunately, they didn't.

aaanyway. I wish I could get the in-game benefits of a CE by buying just a key from plaync.com. Paying the shipping makes the already steep (due to exchange rate) $70 prohibitive to me (I'm in Brazil).

You hear that, anet? people want to give you money!!! give them the chance to do so!!! Sell the CE key online, or at the guildwars store!!! Take the opportunity and sell it retroactively for Factions and prophs too!!! Sell it as a $20 add-on for people who already have the standard edition too!!!

This isn't proof that Assassin/Ritualist armors will be available in Nightfall. ArenaNet only added unique armor in order to allow Assassin/Ritualist heroes to be playable in Hero vs. Hero PvP.

I'll be surprised if they add multiple armor sets in Nightfall. (They'll probably just add that one armor.)

/notsigned The CE's are released in limited pressings which is what makes them special. Once they're gone; they're gone. It seems highly unlikely they would ever offer this as it has been met with far too much opposition and it would generally be betrayal of all that bought them initially.

p.s. They don't sell them in the ingame store even when the game is new cause of all the real world goodies the CE comes with and they don't ship anything.

EB, Gamestop, and Babbages (all owned by the same company) are charging $4.99 for the prerelease pack in addition to charging a $5.00 pre-pay for pre-ordering with them. Best Buy doesn't even seem to be offering the prerelease pack. In the past, I have bought the prerelease pack for $10.00 from Best Buy (I think it was ten anyway) and then that $10.00 applied towards the purchase of my collector's edition at Best Buy, essentially getting the prerelease pack for free.

Now, 2 questions:

1) Does anyone know of a store not charging $4.99 for the prerelease pack and simply giving it to you at the time you put a pre-pay down for $5.00 or $10.00 or whatever?

2) Has Best Buy been doing things differently? Have other stores charged the $4.99 for the prerelease pack on top of the $49.99 for the full release game pack for prophecies and factions??

Any answers would be appreciated.

Well I dunno about you guys, but I still to this day see Proph/Faction CEs at game stores. Although, there's a lot of hype now about the Nightfall one... Well I guess time will tell.

I agree that needs clarification. Is it ALL characters (including assassins/rits) or just the two new classes?

Seems the original Prophecies C.E. is still the best one frankly.

Bestbuy is doing the same deal as always; but they're not getting them in til the very end of September. Compusa is doing the same deal as Bestbuy always does except they're only charging $5 istead of 10.

uhh... I thought the thing that made them "special" was the fact that they had extra material (ie. minipet, special emotes etc) for extra money...? besides, you'll still have your "limited print" box and manual and guildwars thingamajigs all that jazz. And there's nothing to feel "betrayed" about, since people buying in the store would be paying as much as you (even if they're getting LESS stuff for it). Meanwhile, people who don't live in the US/Canada/Europe can still have the extra ingame stuff, at least.

The standard edition sold in the store doesn't have the "real world" goodies (manual and box), either, but it IS sold in the store nonetheless. At the same price, by the way. I don't how the CE is different in that aspect.

The Factions CE is still available. I know in Europe they Prophecies CE is still available-got a bunch on amazon.eu; but in America you can find the Prophecies CE online for $250.

The physicall standard edition doesn't have any goodies either; the manual is available for download on the GW site and a box is not a goodie. And I believe it was Gaile that at some point said they wouldn't sell it from the ingame store cause they don't ship you anything; it's not like I just made that up.

I'm not sure, but I think the dance might be from Michael Jackson's "Remember The Time" video clip, which would be funny, regarding the fact that it plays in an Egyptian palace (and Eddie Murphy is the Pharao).

A physical manual and a physical box count as goodies to me. But then I'm a collector myself, got a couple dozen game boxes and manuals around (I'm always mad when a game ships with a lame instruction card and not a manual). Regardless, I don't see why the player paying the same price for a CE and NOT having the physical extras would be unfair to players who pay the same exact price and get all of them. If anything, it'd be the other way around (but then, the players buying it online would already have accepted that loss by buying online anyway, just as I accepted the loss of a manual and box by buying prophs and factions online).
