Ok I just got my ass handed to me in AB. Why? While im casting a spell, the slightest movement causes a cancel. I had no problem with this before the update. I am a frequent kiter and use the directional keys to navi around obstacles. However as of this update while using skills like apply poison, and troll unguent, the SLIGHTEST touch of a key cancels the skill. There is NO LEEWAY like there used to be. For example, before the update i could cast troll and tap up, but I needed to hold it in order to cancel the skill. After the update the key controls are EXTREMELY senstive. As in if my character still has motion and I cast troll the spell is canceled without warning... I can breathe on up and lose my meteor shower.
This is a huge issue with me. Please fix these sensitivity issues.

well according to the main updates, you originally have a 75% chance to salvage the selected item of choice from your weapon.
however, a friend of mine with 1 in each rank has a 20% chance of failure, when they in reality should have a 23% chance of failure.
Same with my character, having rank 6 treasure and rank 5 wisdom, has a 20% chance of failure and a 80% chance of success. this is way off since 6+5 = 11, add 11 to 75 to get 86% chance for a successful salvage, yet it's still forcing me to have only a 80% chance to salvage.
if anyone else noticed this try and shed some light.

Can't say I noticed it. But if what you say is true, I can only see it as a good thing. I used to find it hard to cancel anything that took 1 second or less to cast. It was like your character stopped responding. (and I have a map up most of the time so Esc just closes that)
If you find you're cancelling a lot of things, try not moving until it's done. You're just used to being able to start moving just before it finished, and although you didn't move, you were used to doing it.

Noticed some odd minor reactions while I was moving my character around. Feels like they changed something with that.

Yeah I was casting mending and it stopped I was like wtf. Then realized that touching up like I used to..well stops it now. So yeah I'll have to be more careful.

I did some experimentations with this in Isle of the Nameless.
Before the update if you were running and used the skill, the action would freeze your character in place and you would need to hold the button down or repress it in order to move again (and causing a cancel). This means that if you cast while running you are forced to stop and cast, but holding the button for about 3/4 a sec/repressing it causes the action to be canceled to resume movement.
After the update this is no longer true. Now if you are running with the directional keys and start to cast, if you are still holding a key you character will not freeze to cast and you will simply cancel your spell. I wasted a ton of energy acci-canceling MS and troll with this BS. It's really damn annoying having to take my hands off all my directional keys before I cast so that I dont cancel and waste my E.
This new sensitivity is quirky. I dont like not being able to kite without risking a loss in casting anything over 1 second. Its impossible to cast troll while running now without drawing your hands away from the keyboard before activating the skill. I liked when a skill you stop you and you would need to force the key through a repress or hold. With the old system of sensitivity I felt I had more control over my casts. Now im running and then I cast troll, bam 5 energy lost and now its recharging while I get mowed down by some bullstrike warrior. Not fun.
Kiting nerfed ftl.

omg, i'm noticing it. I cant spam spirits in hoh, always cancel itself when it starts....very big problem!
Avarre
Agree very very much.

I have zero rank in these titles and enjoy a 20% / 80% the same as you.
Lordhelmos
Dis-regard, it s not normal. Im running and if i cast I stop and cast it gets canceled somehow. Weird.
The current test that I am using is kinetic armor. I run holding forward then click to cast. Even if I let go of forward I begin casting but suddenly cancel without warning even if I wasnt holding the key. Basically if I cast while moving, I lose my spell to a cancel.
Any casting I am doing while moving is canceled even if I stop after clicking to cast. This is making ele impossible to play. No more running and using Aegis, I will not play if this is not fixed.

Just walking around in towns is annoying. Turning to look at someone, then turning another beat after the fact, gets annoying after about the 20th time.
Kalki
I think the titles only increase the chance that the weapon won't be destroyed upon salvaging not the chance of not destroying the upgrade.
Lordhelmos
Kiting was def. nerfed and I am very very pissed. The controls feel clunky now. How the hell can you play if you can' move and cast at the same time?
Bye bye Aegis, MS, Heal Party, Diversion, Backfire....

Knightsaber Sith
There is no chance of destroying the upgrade, you get it no matter what. The only thing that can be destroyed is the base weapon itself(along with any other mod you didn't select to salvage).
Actually, the updates say the base is 50% not 75%.

I just looked into it from first person, I now feel like my eyes where trying to be ripped from my skull. Good luck to anyone who play(ed) in first person a lot, you need it.
Lordhelmos
There is latency problem in movement script and the casting script.
When I cast kinetic armor in motion and then I let go of the keys my character stops and starts to cast, then suddenly steps back about 2 steps and cancels after 3/4 secs. With further experments any spell over 1 second cast time is canceled if the spell is clicked while a directional key is being held at the same time.
If you dont stop then cast your spell will fail. This means you have to LET GO of a directional key before casting a spell or else Puff... I simply cannot play like this.

Ah, I see what you mean now. If you're running and then stop to cast something longer than 1 second, it randomly cancels without pressing any other keys.
Lordhelmos
Yeah I'll restate that this needs to be fixed. Try playing a heal party ele like this in GvG....
TelephoneNP
/agree this needs to be fixed asap

floppinghog
it was 75% in the notes, they changed it
Kalki
I'm still downloading the patch, but I know this is gonna drive me nuts. I like to activate my skill from kiting as fast as possible.
Lordhelmos
Yeah I wasted boatloads of E just now trying to run and cast HP in aspenwood. Too bad no one got healed.
Seron
it now says 50%. HOWEVER, i'm still recieving the 80% success/20% fail ratio while in game. my rank 1/1 character should have 50%/50%, however he still has 80/20. and my r6/r5 character should have 83/17 ratio, yet is still at 80/20.
they havn't tried fixing this one yet it seems.

Movement shouldn't cancel skills until about .5 seconds after a cast starts.
Seef II
Even autoattacking bugs up, no more c-space ftl.
Knightsaber Sith
^Well it's a good bug for everyone that has no ranks in the title tracks. Let the people that didn't bother to earn the titles have a little time to salvage with a higher chance, and before long it'll be patched and you'll have your advantage.

I sent NCsoft a bug report detailing this problem. I hope this is fixed soon.

I had a 2s cast preperation fail on me at least 40 times tonight, kinda gimpy considering I have to waste full energy on non-ranger stances now.
and I keep getting mouse-view jerks out of nowhere, please fix!

Many of the 'nerf' have been in fact results of the anti farming schemes Anet came up with, and this is no different. Let me explain:
If anyone know about Shiroken farming outside of Harvest temple with a Me/Mo then you should not have any problem understanding this:
When the run was discovered, they increased the frequency of interupts to mess up the routine. By kite casting (running using R and then casting) you were able to aviod being interupted and would increase your chances of chaining your SV +2s + Mantra of resolve + AV and become uninteruptable making the run almost a piece of cake and a profitable one at that.
Spirit bond is also used in the Me/Mo build but also is generally used in other farming builds.
ANET for farmers my ass.

Why do people keep saying "Fix plx A Net" when this was probably part of the changes, ie the game is supposed to be like this now.

Let me give you again the example.
You have 2 sec spell. For example use RoF.
You run to some location, you hit '4' to cast this spell, but after 0.5 secs (image it is your latency) you arive at this spot as server point (your movements are 0.5 secs late for the server). Thanks to the system developed by ANET you do not sence this latency and your skills arrive at time. BUT now casting a spell RIGHT after the move, you will automove after 0.5 secs AND your spell will get interupted. So basicly you must wait 0.5 secs everytime you stop moving before casting spells. For people with slow conection this time may incease to 1.5 secs.
Previously this was avoided thanks to the Anet sync system and worked very well, but now seems to be somehow broken.

I am getting used to it already... not sure if that is bad or not.
