Anyone notice how sensitive the stupid camera are? I mean if you try and swing the camera behind it, the damn thing will do a 360 on it's own. Not to mention there seen to be a constant invisible wall behind me so that the camera can't rotate all the way around.

So basically people are mad that they have to learn new tactics and strats because the game changed?

I'd also like to note that I feel pretty crummy for that guy that spent a fortune on that HoD Axe...

Just reinstalled GW and started with - images, so will be downloading for some time...

Let me check my characters (PvE only):
- Necro: Possible SS nerf, cannot determine scatter yet
I like the Spoil Victor and Insidious Parasite buff.
- Monk: No difference for me.
- Ranger: No real difference, Concussion Shot to 5 sec seems a buff, but energy penalty is still high
- Mesmer: Empathy buff. Not much affected by changed energy skills.
Used boon-prot with OoB, so not affected.
- Rit: No changes
- Sin: Small buff, but don't play Sin often.

When I look at the changes, I think I just have to make some minor adjustments in some builds to optimize.
And I think Nightfall will give some nice skills and skill combinations that will fit in those builds.

Lets take a look at this from a financial point of view. The way I see it, there are 4 groups of players who are involved here. 1) The people who do non-stop PvP, no trouble for them, they'll buy Nightfall for the new skills. 2) The people who enjoyed farming enormously, they won't buy Nightfall, they see no point in playing. 3) The people who enjoyed farming and are concerned about not being able to do that, they wonder about Nightfall (imo this is the largest group of people) - these people will buy nightfall because they see nothing better to do. 4) The people who play PvE for fun, they'll be buying Nightfall.

As you can see, ArenaNet has given you no choice but to buy Nightfall And when thats done - you'll be forced to PvP - buying UAS at 39.99

You might be thinking "but I would have bought nightfall for the new farming! Now I'm sad" but this way they have killed the problem of EBay money seller blokes and sealed the sale of their next product.

Some things are still farmable it just takes a bit longer and have to get smaller groups. I was testing to see how badly it was affected.

I was trying my ranger a while ago and Barrage was causing scatter...eeek.

That was the one skill I was hoping wouldn't be affected by this update. There goes the neighborhood.

What he said. While 55ers are pissed and ignoring 95% of the update (conviniently forgetting the fact that 55ing was never supposed to be part of the game), the rest of us will have more fun in PvE as it is now harder, has more depth and you can customize your character in much greater detail.

My favorite? The dye preview ability and new color. No more searching guru for dye charts and mixes. No more having to buy tons of dye because the dye chart lead you astray and didnt come out the way intented. No more reading about someone's "secret white dye formula", even though you know it's garbage and the guy is trying to scam people, because it just might work. White male 15k enchanter's attire FTW. I wish now that I could have named my mesmer Al Green.

I took my mesmer and both monks out for short spins with henches (well, the Smiter went solo with his cat).

Confirmed, henches are still under the influence of Advanced Idiocy (AI). Not quite as bad, but still have a tendency to do whatever they darn well please regardless of what your wishes may be. Yes, I know you can now directly direct them with that handy-dandy little cluttering wheel on the compass, but it seems more trouble than it's really worth when general adventuring.

Confirmed, monsters do not flee AoE unless and until their health starts getting low. Orion helped me test this.

Confirmed, there are brown and white dye drops because there are people now trying to sell them at upwards of 10K a vial ("rarest dye in the game!") The new base grey armor is causing temporary shortages of colors at the trader, namely blue and red, causing others to try and sell these colors at ludicrous prices.

Confirmed, there are two new one-size-fits-all runes because people are trying to sell them for 10K a rune ("the rarest rune in the game!")

Overall, I didn't notice any major skill problems or camera difficulties. I paid specific attention to the camera spin others are mentioning, but didn't notice it (with three different characters).

For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, you can still coast through PvE with an empty skill bar and henchies. Those "farmers" who are now permanently stuck in complain mode should just quit the game. Seriously, quit. You will save money and time, and possibly, just possibly, realise that you were wasting your life "farming" for virtual wealth.

The nerf to SS ruined the only character and build I truly enjoy. Good thing I just bought a 360 because I wont be spending any more time in this game. I have no desire to launch it anymore.

Wow, click the options button & turn it off if you don't like it.....then you won't look like a tool bag that doesn't know how to use the games options interface.

QFT!

I love all the things in the new update. The skill template is the best. Being able to switch secondaries is something I was looking forward to for ages. The AoE Scatter Affect will only affect those that run cookie cutter builds for farming. Learn how to snare. Did Hell's P. with guildies/pugs easily, finished in about 30 mins. I see no problem with any of the changes. The only thing that saddened me was the added recharge time to Dual Shot. Oh well, I will just adjust my build a bit.

I didn't really have a problem with the camera change. Although it was annoying at first, I actully found it helpful in certain situations.

To those of you complaining about the staves, go with wand/sword/axe and offhand combo. Collectors/Crafters FTW!

As to farming, you have to realize that farming for large amounts of mone is not needed in this game to play well. The max armor is only 1.5k a piece, most weapons/shields/offhands can be obtained by collector or crafter and have perfect stats. The greens, rare skins, accended armor, obsidian armor, ect. were added so the game does not become boring (PvE). 15k armor is supposed to take awhile to obtain. One does not need 5 sets of 15k armor, all the greens, and 800k in storage to play well in this game.

Guild Wars is an ever-changing game. You need to change and adapt.

I got extremely annoyed with the necro nerf.. I spent my last 25k on armor and runes for my necro, buying a totem axe and a -50hp grim cesta. I now only have 300 gold and am struggling to get anymore. I am not going back to my warrior that has gotten stuck on THK and I don't wanna go through making a new character.

I also don't have enough money to buy new armor for my necro... I only made him about 3 days ago and I was trying to learn how to use him.

Good grief, some people have to cry about everything... I really like the update. A lot of the skills were buffed, AI and henches are now smarter than before, there's a new dye system (WHITE DYE people, come on), armor changes that I kind of like, etc.

I don't see anything that was nerfed so far, I wish people would stop sounding the nerf alarm everytime something changes. Wow, these things are what people were asking for, and now everyone cries. Personally, I never enjoyed farming that much anyway, but who knows, maybe arenanet has a better way of making money in nightfall. I could care less if trolls now run away more often, or any enemy mob for that matter. The henchmen now react different too, and you can control them. So much good outweighs the bad imo.

You don't see anything nerfed because you probably don't have much of a clue as to the way things were before..

...wow white dye, big woop, because WHITE armor will make you keeeel faster! ZOMG....

Smart ones will adapt & overcome.
Attention seekers will post up new builds on the forums.
Uncreative people, slackers & farmer will be glued to the forums searching for new builds.
I'll be having fun doing my own thing like I usually do anyhow. The only builds I've really ever got from forums was cyclone axe & wurm build when I was first trying to learn how to earn gold to buy some max 1.5k armor & a 16/+30/5-20% shield from a crafter.

So far have only really tested some farming.. I still have at least one spot that works ALMOST like normal. It's also where I get the most stuff and gold so yay for me. Haven't tested much in regular playing, but my gf loves the bigger number for damage (she has vidion issues and she can finally read the flying numbers).

As for the damage count thing.. With the change to Spirit Bond, it could be important knowing when that 10th hit happens.
Wanting some brown dyes to see if I can get a closer to skin tone color on my monk's tat armor. Also hoping that SS isn't blown up too much.. I haven;t farmed with my necro, but do use the skill in regular play a lot along with Mark of Pain.

All in all I think it'd a great update, but think they need to take a bit better look at some of the the things that mobs now consider AoE. They might have overdone that just a wee bit.

Does this mean all those tightly packed Jade Brotherhood caster are gonna scatter when I hit them with choking gas? Hey that works... kinda hard to cast and run at the same time....lol

well, the only thing I am unhappy about with the update is the change of the skill smite from an attack to a spell. It was the only skill I had that I could use on someone who had spell breaker on, now its nerfed......had to figure it would be at some point.
And, ok, 2nd point, dyes not stacking.....but guess that just means I need to use all the old dye before I use the new ones.....wish they would make dye storage!
