They don't attack the smiter, and if they scattered, your smiter can be far enough away that they can't reach him.

Where are you farming thoes ice imps? I know some one said out side Ice Caves of Sorrow, but, out there I only see stone summit, avicacera and grawl.
Sergio Leone
Really? There is a huge group just right there. It's weird that's all you see. When you get across the bridge, if there are none, go down the slope and go around the frozen lake. Should be tons right across the bridge though.

im gonna try this when i run out of dwaven ale (like 20 mins to go)... too bad i salvaged and sold my 55 armor with all the runes like 2 weeks prior to the big update

Well...technically the 55/spirit bond build still works. You just need to pay more attention to your Spirit Bond button & the icon for the enchant (i.e. watch the duration and mash the button as soon as it ends).

actually using some of the info i have recieved from all the amazingly nice posts on this thread.. tookis elite and myself have found a nice duo smite build for the shield of absorbtion monk
The monk is the only part i know and its still really fresh but i will show yall what i got so far. of course this will need to be done with the spirit bonder pants and shoes.. both need to have a sup prot and a major or sup vigor. and also a divine headpeice with a sup divine in it.. the 15 al armor is what you will be using.. hp total is around 450
prot spirit
shield of absorbtion
spirit bond
blessed sig.
spellbreaker
blessed aura
essence bond
life attunement..
you will have high levels of prot and divine.. almost max for both.. those are the only two that really matter for this duo..
Im assuming the smiter brings the "standard" smiting stuff.. hopefully tookis will get on here and give yall some info on that..
but pretty much as some amazingly smart posters here said.. the damage negation has no effect on holy wrath and retribution damage..
we have been testing this and will probably not post pics untill we are 100% satisfied that you guys will like it.
some of the areas we hope to farm with this build could include
uw
fow 3 man (just add ranger)
Urgoz 3 or 4 man (just add ranger and ss)
i know this concept can be applied to a ton of nightfall areas aswell.. but that is assuming i ever get far enough into the game to explore them
Hope you guys enjoy this aswell and we will have picks and complete builds when we are completly satisfied with the outcome..
and i would like to thank you guys for all the awsome input on these forums and also ingame pm's they are all helping with these new builds and we should continue to support each other in our efforts to further improve farming.

koot n i were farmin earlier using the smitre build and the famine ranger in UW and i got more info
smiter + SoA monk :
-smites make things drop aggro (except casters, ranged) [but only till things die]
-smiter can be far enough away to not make them drop aggro off the smiter though
-smite goes through SoA even though ur hit for 0's
-this build can be done with a combination of spirit bond, SoA, and 600+ health [need low armor for thig though]
-more stuff too just cant think of it atm
SoA monk + famine ranger UW :
-works well, but sometimes only one smite will hit traps and ruin the whole thing
-big pulls as used to be possible with spirit bonder
-semi-slow on the attaxes but smites = fast killin
heres some screens of tonight (only got of UW smiting wasnt exciting enuff to post about)
that'd be a nice pull and total profits of tonight

Can I bother you for the location of the collector for the offhand? I'm really really psyched for this. I loved 55'ing not even for the farming, but just for the sheer fun of it. This, looks like even MORE fun XD. I greatly admire you. Will you autograph my heavily-tattooed monk?

Which isn't too dissimilar from this build. If one doesn't pay attention to SoA, that's all she wrote with alot of enemy casters.
Great build by the way.

vital blessing
balthazars spirit

res sig/rebirth sig/rebirth/etc.
brgin a +4 prot hat and a +4 smite hat and switch em for casting diff req spells so u can get the 100% max of everything
have the tank bring essence bond so he grabs +2 energy per hit on himself.
and that is the 100% BASICS of the smiter

lol thanks but i think your monk like mine.. has endured enough punishment for one lifetime.. lol
but as for the collectors item.. its available outside for elona's reach in the dessert of the prophecies campaign.. i think its requires 5 topaz crests to trade..
not sure though.

Today I tried to do some solo Icy Dragon Sword farming with moderate success. What I did was one of my friends ran me from granite to mineral springs and then he left, so I start at mineral springs in a snap easily. then I usually fight my way through the avicara all the way to the imps in the cave. The only problem I had faced was maybe a few KD from the tundra giants, and for some very strange reason I could not break aggro from an avicara wise and ardent, they would keep following me and the wise would cast phantom pain on me which mending would reduce to 1 degen, and the ardent and wise together would just stand next to me until he had to cast phantom again....
either way, i managed 2 runs with on IDS drops before I gave up and returned to talus chute because of frustration and annoyance.

You dont have to use the colllector weapons. I use Jayne's staff (+30hp, 20% recharge, 20% halves cast on prot spells). Reason being that the extra health allows me to farm enemies with health degen health stealing. The 20% recharge of course doesnt hurt either

just have ur tank go stand on the first corner near the first group of coldies and when the coldie aggro drag those 2 groups (should have 2 groups at the time) into the coldies and have ur ranger go get the rest.
and if a group dosnt pull let em hit ya once or twice and with the new AI update they'll never drop aggro

My Tusked Howler run... quick (only 15 howlers total) and gives pretty good drops (got two Radiant Insignias on my first run today ), gotten a handful of golds and some good purples in the few runs I've done.

Entering the ward from the command post (the north side- heading into that small waterway) has an insane amount of howlers and other random things. I think that most of the creatures there are ranged. Might try it over there, too.
edit: i'll bet the nerf that screws over this build will be to the shielding-reduction spell. (argh, can't remember the name, and i use it on my boon protter too 0.0, man i'm bad).

If anyone is interested anymore.. I was screwing around with spitefull on the tusked howlers.. kills them pretty fast with reckless haste and some clever grouping. I am hoping this will help out some of the folks that cant seem to cap soj.
pretty much just target one throw ss then rh then tab onto the next one and cast other ss when ready..
here is a pic:
Hope this helps someone.

Very Nice. Me/Mo w/ arcane echo SOJ works with this general idea as well.

Echo-soj works on howlers. You barely ever need your blessed signet for it, so echo isn't much of a problem. I just had a weird aggro on my last one, spawn was way tinier and spread out. had trouble holding a double-spawn aggro together.
For those looking for a more complete Tusker route- I don't have fraps, but i'll walk you through mine.
This takes about 5-10 minutes.
Walk out. cast your enchantments immediately. You should have (if you're using the +27 nrg ankh) around 40 energy left. Go immediately to the LEFT of the rez shrine, and there should be a spawn right there. Put up your protection, and lure em to you. Just to the left of those down the hill should be another spawn. Dual-aggro them. Make sure all are hitting you, then echo (if you use it) and then SoJ. It should take around 2 SoJ rounds to knock them out if you don't echo them. After that, pick up your drops, and head even more north. There should be a small spawn of 5-6 that you can take out. Might as well :-). You'll then want to head east. Dodge the random mandragor spawns that hang around in groups of 3, and you should see another Tusker spawn. Aggro them, lure and lure them south a bit. In the more deserty region by some rocks should be some more of them. Dual-aggro the two spawns and do your thing :-).
So far- I've gotten 2 incredibally nice elonian daggers (the good skin variation w/ the cool patterns and perfect mods), several runes, tons of blue weapons, and made about 10k. I've been farming them for about 45-50 minutes straight.
I hope this helps some of you. :-) I refered several people here too. Enjoy.

Don't understand what's all the fuss about... What's the diference between this and breeze? The prob with the new AI is the scatter and this doesn't solve that!

There is a nice route in Arborstone from Altumm Ruins which most farmers know about. There are no spirit wardens there, so you don't have to worry about enchant removal. This run isn't extremely profitable, but it gets you LOADS of materials, and atm with NF out, that's exactly what I need.
1st of all, THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH Narutoscryed, this build rocks. All credit to you, I just made a few adjustments.
Here's all you need to know:
But I'll explain a few details just in case. Base is ofc the SoA 135HP build, with added:
Fleeting Stability - to counter the heavy KDs (this build has little room for mistakes since SoA expire and recharge times are so close) and constant degen you get when KDed. Keep this on all the time if Warriors are around, it's a bigger priority than SoA.
Mending Touch - You can now walk on the traps and this baby heals you almost full (since you got 135HP), removers 2 conditions (I hate cripple!!) and is a nice backup heal with Divine Favour. With low cost and fast recharge, I just LOOOOVE it!
I dumped Mending couse if you keep Fleeting Stability on all the time, you don't get any degen, and DF from PS and SoA keep you nice and full all the time. For the occasional fu**ups, you got Mending Touch. Also this build gives 2 pips of energy regen and 2 energy gain spells (Essence and Balth), and you got Blessed sig for emergency situations. Almost all mobs die from 1 SoJ, and you don't even need to recast PS couse it has longer duration than SoJ.
I managed to kill the War boss easily, just use Mending to heal yourself when they drop your HP with hexes, and Eles in that room give you weakness, which is nice couse you get extra HP when you remove that with Mending.
Ranger boss I can tank forever, but his Troll just heals too much, so I couldn't killl him. Damn slow attacker...
Stonereaper and Stoneweaver I'm guessing aren't an option, one strips enchs and the other has too much self-heal. The Ele boss might be possible...haven't tried yet.
Got about 5 runes (1 gold), 180 hides, 15 steel and many other materials from 1 run, I just advise you do the FULL circle, so the farm code doesn't mess up this run.
Enjoj!
