It has bugs here and there, but I've seen plenty of posts here saying that they've completed Nightfall... so... the game is "done".

Or not. The "rest" is only relative to what they choose to give us. As it stands now, we have everything that Nightfall is, and what you purchased. The fact that they are giving us more is by their own good will. They don't "owe" us anything more. You bought the game. Technically, their obligation stops there... heck, read the EULA, they don't even have to keep the servers running... but they're nice and they do

Don't blast through the story then. What's the rush, anyway? And the "end game" content of Guild Wars is plentiful... it's called PvP. I don't think Guild Wars has ever hidden that intention. Unlike other RPGs... like... say... Elder Scrolls: Oblivion... once you've "completed" the game, there's a never-ending game to play.

Sorta like WarCraft 3 or StarCraft. You can play all of the story missions. End game is then "PvP multiplayer". They are RTS games, but the concept is the same.

There's a mentality that I've seen in many MMO-playing friends of mine (WoW, CoH, others). They are religiously tied to the game that they play. I sense in most of them a certain level of desperation that they have pumped a lot of money into their favored game, and if they were to play something else, it all would have been a waste of money.

So, they are "locked" into their MMO... afraid to play something else.

$50 is what most games cost these days. Most games at this price are "done" in about 10 hours of play. Then they have a multiplayer option.

MMOs have you pay to play. What model does Guild Wars follow?

With Guild Wars, you buy a chapter, you play until you "beat" it. Then you play multiplayer until the next chapter comes out. If you don't want to do that, you go play some other game! You aren't obligated to play Guild Wars. You aren't losing the money of a monthly fee if you don't.

Is there something wrong with a game being "done"? Games come and go. You're not married to this thing, it's just a game. Play it, enjoy it, then play some other game for a while... or go jogging, or biking, read a book, watch some movies, find a significant other... live life.

If you don't think you got your $50's worth in Nightfall, then you don't play many games. There's more content in Nightfall than 90% of the video games out there.

At Gwen's behest of course.

@ whomever it was that said they chapters are dead because they aren't adding new content. You don't have to buy expansions. If you do you get perks like material storage. But that ended up being given to prophecies anyway. Anet isn't adding content to old continents, sure. But what they are doing is adding general content to the world those continents are set in. Once they clean up broken quests, fix holes in lore, etc. there will be a seamless world within which to play. Look at the big picture.

But that's just my two cents.

Its also a good reason to belong to a good guild. Then you have lots of real people to play with you through the missions.
