Yes, well... the name of the topic is "Dev Update: Ranks & Elite Missions". I'm terribly sorry we're discussing points introduced by the original poster. I won't apologize though for not being terribly excited about content that they owe us being added to the game a few months late.

It's a title. People are acting like the whole game was a failure because you can't grind a FREAKING TITLE.

And I don't think any content is late. Nightfall was worth my money way more then Factions was, why would I be already complaining for more?

You want to go after the real winner's here, try then at Gamespot. Especially the annoying one that name starts with a "T" but that’s all I will say; he is subjugated to his own opinion no matter how many times I tried to shut him down. I believe some people have an entitled opinion, but the people here compared to Gamespot are not trying to stab at the heart of GW.

No, really, the real problem here is your particular brand of high-octane fanboyism that precludes rational discussion of certain aspects of the game that even the developers acknowledge require attention, as witnessed by the very existance of this thread. Me, I'm perfectly able to see small flaws in the game without dismissing the whole package out of hand. I'm not "acting like the whole game was a failure because you can't grind a FREAKING TITLE."

2 quick comments:

1) Before Nightfall came out, it was not possible to gain the fifth tier title of elite skill capping, elite skill hunter. Old characters have no way of gaining the survivor title. So what? Sure, it's not a perfect analogy, but the point is there have been other titles that are impossible to get at certain points in the game, but they have absolutely no relevance. The same can be said for the Sunspear title track. After a certain rank, it has no relevance. Is some part of the game being restricted because you can't get your max level sunspear title? No. So there really isn't a problem. Sure, some people might have used an exploit to get the max title already, but is that affecting anyone's gameplay in any way?

2) I've never been through Urgoz or the Deep. I play a pretty good bit of pve, but I've never felt like either of those missions were something I needed to do to get a complete fractions experience. I even gave a ferry 150g one time to get ferried to Urgoz and then decided not to go. Point is, I've never felt like I was missing out on much by not doing an "elite" mission. Furthermore, no one even has access to the Nightfall elite mission yet nor do we have any idea how access will be controlled. Undoubtedly it will be based on individual merit as there is no faction-type system in Nightfall, so I think it's a bit premature to speculate or be overly concerned about it.

perhaps different way to sunspear rank 9: I don't know if it works, but i think it could work (also its too late for me ^^)
There are 2 quests, which consists of subquests, where u get sunspear pts for. If u make the subquests, cancel the mainquest and get it again, it could be possible to do them over and over again, till r9. I've done the quests before r8, so couldn'T proof it. Anyone who could test it?

Title wish: It would be nice if there were a title for solving quests. U get for everything a title, but for solving all not repeatable quests in Tyria fg, there isn't a title :/

Should be possible, cause if u solved the quests, its saved somewhere, so the information is somewhere in ur database ^^

Clearly you found nothing wrong with the "just because it's in the manual doesn't mean that its going to be ready at the release date" line. OK - the elite mish isn't in the game, whatever, I can deal with it. However, I don't think Anet should be advertising this as woohoo a FREE update! because clearly (unless I am hugely mistaken) this was something that should have been included with the game,but then maybe time ran out, or a huge bug was found, etc. None of this frustration is meant towards Gaile, she obviously wasnt the one who put that line in the manual, nor did she prevent the coders from finishing the game on time - however, I do believe that is what we got, an unfinished game, and I would be a lot happier if that could just be admitted.

Snap me a screenshot, because we have never posted the Nightfall Manual. We should, and we will, but we have not done so. Therefore, I'd love to see what's in your cache upon which you're basing a groundless argument.

Time for an admission: I admit that no game we make is ever finished. We will constantly work to refresh the content; to add to it, when practical; to polish and refine it; to restructure skills for greater balance; to celebrate real-world and gameworld holidays and events; and to listen to our fans and try our darnedest to incorporate their requests -- not just during the release of a game, but, when it is possible, in updates between releases.
