Kai Nui
I made a guy mesmer, and I couldn't imagine making another character for PVE.
Malice Black
Necro/Ele had the most retarded skill bar going as well.
Necro is the only class I feel comfortable playing. Had a few others chars but I always go back to Necro.

Torikae
A nice, camp male E/Mo. Looking back at my old screenies (before I learnt that the magic shift button hides the interface, even) his skill bar could almost make me cry these days.
I still have him, and in praise of his status as my first character, he's was given a nice set of 15k armour... before becoming a mule and being effectively replaced by my second Ele :$

Jumping Is Uselss
The first profession I ever played was a warrior (W/E to be exact)
Axe Addict
Warrior , Crom is my all time favourite charr , have spent a small fortune on him to set him up just right
VGJustice
My first was my Ranger.
I remember wanting a "finesse" fighter, and Expertise sounded like a better way to get there than Strength. That, and I liked the over all look of the Rangers to the Warriors. So, I rolled a Ranger and went out of my way to make him a Warrior secondary.
This was about a week after Guild Wars: Prophecies went live. I've been mostly playing that character that way since then, even against prevailing logic and sometimes my own better judgement.

Count to Potato
I always was intrigued by the elements and thought the elementalist was going to be more powerful then everyone else, of course i was wrong and right at the same time
Samuel Dravis
Mine was an ele. He is still alive but is burning with hatred at not being used lately.
Lady Lozza
Ele was my first char, but Ranger was what I first beat the game with. Then deleted her for my monk a couple of days before the sf update. My ele went through soooooo many re-ceations, as did my monk I might add...
Kay84
Ele! Still alive n kickin..
Throttle
The very first character I created was a monk, I think, but I played him for like two minutes and then the bad memories of playing a priest in WoW and a cleric in Everquest came back and I quickly decided not to.
So I voted ranger, since that was the first character I played past the tutorial. This was back in the days of.. well, last week. That ranger is still my main character but I'm playing a dervish now because I got tired of shooting a bow from a distance.

Rakeris
Mesmer here, sadly I don't play him as much as I used to. =\
Rockby Quickfoot
Mesmer. Heck I've gone through all of prophies and I just got into Vaabi in Nightfall and I still only have my mesmer. I just never feel like creating a new character for some reason.
Spike
Ele was my 1st as I like the idea of being a mage. Now I have 6 characters
Ritualistic Spankin
My first character back in April '05 was a Mesmer, everyone was telling me "be a warrior, mesmers are too hard to learn" I think that playing a good mesmer requires a certain knowledge of all the other professions.I chose one as my first profession and it has helped to educate me in the ways of GW.
Markaedw
My first was an E/Me, but he's gone. Then I went male R/W, gone to. My female mes is gone also. Finally I kept my female R/M, she just got her neckrid horseman.
I started with an aeromancer, I liked the idea of lightning magic, but i dumped him when I realized how long it would take for me to get lightning magic. Then I went with a ranger and didn't like the build. I just didn't quite understand how to effectively use mesmers, so I got rid of her.

Hehe, necromancer.
Back in the day (when prophecies was first released) me and my friends had no clue how anything in guild wars worked. So we held meetings, created a website and such and decided that I needed to be able to do some nice damage for our guild while still being able to heal. So I was a n/mo that way I could raise the dead and keep our guild alive!

Did everyone pick ranger because when it was released the LotR movies had just finished up and they're Aragorn fanboys?
Toutatis
My first character was a Mesmer. I started with Me because I'd heard that the Mesmer was supposed to be the most challenging profession in the game, and after breezing through Dungeon Siege 2 with a solo combat mage I wanted the challenge.
MegaMouse
My first was a warrior when the game was still beta. But when it went public I created my favot=rite character an Elementalist and I still play him even now. I also remember the time before AOE nerfing, durn that was fun. Fire Storm ruled then.
MEga Mouse
MEga Mouse
M1h4iL
Ele/nec in the last beta, and W/Me (not a whammo!) after release
remmeh
Ele. but she's long been deleted )=
Mr Toraan
Monk =)
erfweiss
I had a necromancer at first. Then again, I made a Warrior, a monk, and a necro all at the same time, 14 months ago. Sheesh, remembering which was first then...I can't remember what I had for breakfast today, let alone that.
The necro in question was long since deleted.

FeuerFrei
Ranger.... picked the class even b4 i got the game becos of the skills
Captain Arne Is PRO
Ele, deleted it, and made a Warrior.
La Bella Vita
R/Me was my first character. I still have her, and she is still one of my favorite characters, though I really don't play her much anymore.
NeHoMaR
I am really surprised Warrior is NOT the winner, WOW! Ranger and Elementalist more popular for the first class, I can't believe that.
My first was Warrior, my second Monk, and sooooo on ^_^
You have 2 eles, 2 rangers, 2 monks, 2 necros? WTF?

My second favourite? Well that seems to be a tie between my number 1 monk Kya and my number 1 ele Calliaria. Then again Polgara and Pantha my 2 necros are quite adorable and then again ... oh I give up, I'll say it again, I love playing all my characters.

I made a warrior in the last beta, and she's still my main character. I had never played an RPG before and I figured that would be the simplest class for me to learn on. I've since made and deleted many other classes, and have a ranger native to each land, but I could never replace my "axe woman" as my guildies call her.
Nexus Icon
Ranger all the way back in the WPE, back when they had a stealth attribute
When Prophecies finally came out, my first profession proper was Warrior.

I started with a ranger, about a year ago, been playing with her since. Tried other character's afterwards but they didn't excite me like a ranger's profession and skills.
ShadowStorm
Are we talking first character ever? Or first character that we played for more than a day and a half? Or first character we beat the game with?
If we're talking first character ever, I think I had a Necromancer that I played in one of the Prophesies Beta Events. When I actually got the Retail version of Prophesies, I made a Necromancer again (a new one) that I ended up deleting before I even got very far into pre-searing (level 3 or 4). I then rolled up an Elementalist that I took through the game until I got to the Ring of Fire. I never actually beat the game with my elementalist and ended up deleting him before the dreaded AoE nerf even took place. I then rolled up a Ranger and a Warrior. I took both of those characters through the game at the same time and they both beat Prophesies days apart from each other.
So, in summary:
1st character ever: Necromancer
1st character to make it out of pre-searing and actually get a decent ways through the game: Elementalist
1st character to beat the game: Warrior
Edit: I've actually tried all the classes that have come out so far. In addition to the Warrior and the Ranger that I still have, I also ended up rerolling an Necromancer and a Mesmer before Factions came out. When Factions did come out, I made a Monk, Assassin, and a Ritualist, but didn't like the Ritualist and ended up deleting him. And during the Nightfall preview event, I tried a Dervish, didn't really like him that much. I'm working on a Paragon right now.

I made a Mo/N because i wanted to play as a Salubri kindred.
Salubri = Vampire the masquerade mini clan of blood healers.
I played her so much...

I made a ranger first off, but theres one massive regret I have with him that I wish I could change but unfortunately can't: his name. Legolas was/is almost everywhere as a ranger name and because GW came out not that long after the release of the LotR movies I couldn't help myself, being a huge fan of the series and the books. Meh... too late now anyway .
