It isn't beyond NCSofts abilities to make a simple page saying 'coming soon' or 'under construction'.
And how do people get that registration info?
Phenick
Wouldn't it be giving away more information if they made a place holder page?
Vinraith
"Utopia" sounds like the name of a fansite, really. We know for a fact that it's NCsoft that registered the name?

And all it takes is a simple WHOIS lookup. As posted by Neven and Me the GUILDWARSNIGHTFALL.COM and GUILDWARSUTOPIA.COM registrars appear to be the same.

EDIT:::::

Anet highly values their Fansites for Guild Wars. The last thing they would do would be make a website. With that said, we know the following.
It is registered under NC/Anet...which proves that its NOT fansite, maybe an Anet forum, but that wouldn't make any sense, because Anet loves their fansites and forums.
And yes, NCsoft registered the name....
So looking at the history, we can easily assume that this is the next game, duh.
They made the same types of websites for Factions and Nightfall, why not Utopia?
It has to be Utopia...theres no other logical reason for them to reserve those domain names.

when does this one come out? if im correct april and they still have had no press releases on it...

well, not that I really care what the next chapter will be called, but from past experience I can assume that the only good thing about it will be the armors since its the factions team working on it.............

Actually i dont know if Wizards cpyrighted that Magic: The Gathering Card, but the card "Birds of Paradise might be too similar to the card name to be excepted. OFF TOPIC
Anyway I don't really like the name and I could definitely see people being embarrased to pick it up in the store... PLEASE DONT USE THIS NAME!
Also, I hope this chapter is as good or better than Nightfall and recieves a fair rating from the reviewers and good publicity, else Guild Wars might never rise out of the black hole it would be heading for.

We also know that there are many hidden reefs/islands between Elona and Cantha, navigated by the Corsairs and the Luxons.
East or south of Cantha is also something to think about... and then there's the possibility of a 'new world' chapter across the 'unending ocean'... but I won't deny that the most convincing idea for C4 is the Mursaat homeland, west of the Maguuma. A northern continent comes second place for me, since I asked Gaile whether there was anything north of Tyria and she had never heard of it before. That could just be a 'I know nothing' cover-up, though ![]() |

I've done a little research into the whole "hints are in the manuscripts" rumour and come up with a revised version of the Tyrian world map.
According to page 47 of the GW:NF manuscripts,
Quote:
Corsairs "The corsairs have remained free by learning to survive in treacherous waters, sailing where the Istani will not follow. Their fleets remain hidden near the most dangerous stretches of the Elonian coast. Between the northwest coast of Cantha and the southern rim of Elona, a deadly sea is troubled by sudden storms and cyclones, hidden reefs and dangerous sea creatures." |
I also found something interesting in the Prophecies manuscripts.
Page 38, Saul D'Alessio - Founder of the White Mantle.
Quote:
"Saul D'Alessio was a fallen man. A gambler and a drunk, Saul reached the lowest point in his life when he lost a bet he could not repay. At the time, the local betting house was run by the Lucky Horseshoe, a gambling guild whose influence spanned almost the entire length of the continent. To avoid defaulting on his payment, Saul took to robbing merchants travelling the road from Beetletun to Shaemoor. Though he successfully paid his debt to the Lucky Horseshoe, he was eventually fingered by one of his victims and tried as a thief. His punishment was exile from the Kingdom of Kryta. The authorities blindfolded him and rode him out three weeks before leaving him to fend for himself. Alone, broke and lost, Saul wandered through a dense forrest for several days, surviving on only roots and berries. On the fourth day, delerious with hunger, Saul emerged from the trees to see what he thought was a hallucination - a city of massive towers reaching into the heavens. The architecture was astounding and the creatures who lived there were unlike any he had ever seen. Walking down into their city, Saul got a closer look at the denizens of this place. They were talll and thin with strange wing-like appendages that waved about in the slightest breeze. When they walked, their feet seemed not to touch the ground, and when they spoke, it was the most melodious sound he had ever heard. Surely these creatures were the stuff of divinity. Hungry and exhausted, his clothes ragged and dirty, Saul dropped to his knees and touched his forehead to the ground. He had found his gods and they, in turn, had found their most devoted disciple." |
It sounds like a pretty typical description of 'Utopia' to me, and the "rode him out for three weeks" part would logically have to be west of Kryta, since east is the Shiverpeaks, north is Charr lands and south is an ocean.
I can see why the Mursaat homeland is a popular theory for C4.

(not to scale - the distance between Elona and Cantha is probably a lot greater, so these 'deadly seas' would cover a much larger area)
The red line goes from 'the southern rim of Elona' to 'the northwest coast of Cantha', and the 'deadly seas' are between those two points. So, I think that sentence just means 'from this corner to this corner'.
Also, there is likely some space between the Tyria and Elona maps - if you look at the dark, rocky area of the northern Desolation, and then the sandy Crystal Desert, you can see that they do not match.

Now, anyone that has played through Prophecies will know that this is about the Mursaat, but what I found interesting is the description of their city. My best guess is that a Central/Southern American continent covered in jungle and rocky mountains lies west of the Maguuma. A chapter set there would fit the 'Mayan/Aztec theme' that Michel of Easy Interactive spoke of. I just wonder how 'Utopia' relates to this... Shangri-La springs to mind, though not South American, the Himalayan setting could easily be slotted into a mountain range resembling the Andes.

Hey, i never said it was a good consipiracy theory, was just throwing it out there, lol.

Guild Wars: Utopia introduces "life" skills. After having defeated the Lich, Shiro and Abaddon, our heroes settle down for a chapter and learn how to mine, fish, farm, craft and more. Except for the occassional wolf trying to kill your sheep, don't think you'll be needing weapons this chapter.
Time to hang up that armor and put on some working clothes.
Its true, my brother's mom's sister's uncle told me so.

well its safe to say the mursaat were on our side, sacrificing chosen to power the soul batteries and keep the door of komali sealed shut, preventing demons from the foundry of failed creations to take over tyria. also meaning they arent happy with us opening the gate and turning on them, though i doubt the titans released could destroy the sacred mursaat city, they were damaged, and who's fault is that? ours and the seers for turning us agensed the mursaat, so i seriously doubt that the mursaat will ever ally with us in any chapter. also wat happened to the seers? those floating dudes dissapperaed once the door was open, so i'm assuming the seers will somehow be involved in chapter 4, as an enemy of some sort.

Yes! - I've worked it out...
After combining my skills honed from my degrees in and years of study of Rocket Science, Mathematics and Talking Trash - I've worked out what Chapter 4 is.
Chapter 3 was Nightfall right - well then what follows night.... come on everyone.... no not stars dummy..... try again..... yeah that's right
Chapter 4 will be Sunrise - Guild Wars Sunrise
The story is also obvious :
The fifth God has a hangover and you must stop the sun from rising so he can get sleep to cure it. Otherwise he will smite thee with furious wrath! (i.e. hit you upside the head with a shoe)
It's a race against time - one of the new classes of Chapter 4 is :
Yawners - these have the ability to put people to sleep by yawning and force feeding cookies and warm milk into enemies (with the occasional gingerbread shield - see I knew there was a reason for them!) until they explode.
The other class is of course a secret until release...
But we have early artwork - Here's one of the yawners :

Apologies to anyone who doesn't like a small step into the absurd in the thread.

actually EU-topia is good place; whereas U-topia is 'no place' from the Greek. More's book of that name was about an imaginary ideal society, one that didn't actually exist.... Rather like GW4, or anything else where we think or imagine its perfection, reality always intervenes. In this case, the reality is, for $40 is perfection worth it?

"I believe "ahai" is the appropriate greeting, yes? Well, ahai, (character name)! I am Jatoro Musagi. I hail from the southwest, where the great island of Shing Jea rests upon clear cool shores. Cantha is home to the great Dragon Empire."
This is what Jatoro says when you talk to him in Elona. You remember Jatoro right? That guy that fakes getting kidnapped and makes you fight 20,000 Crimson Skull on Shing Jea? Yea, that guy. He proves that Cantha is southwest of Elona.
Gotta love wiki...

I checked the United States Patent and Trademark Office and there's no registered trademark for Guild Wars:Utopia. But there was for Guild Wars:Nightfall and Guild Wars:Factions. Anyone can register a for a domain name for a couple dollars as long as it's available. To register for a trademark, it requires some proof you're entitled to it.
