I won't shed a tear over Avatar of Grenth getting hammered. It was so good that it's still dangerous after eating a significant duration nerf.
Paragon nerfs are a mixed bag. Going down the list:
"Stand Your Ground!": After thinking about this one a bit, I like where it ended up. It's still very powerful in this form, albeit spendy.
"They're on Fire!": Eh I haven't been impressed with this one, well, ever. Don't think I'll be playing with this version anytime soon.
Angelic Bond: Glad to see it hit hard, I can still see this getting spot usage. You just won't see this being dropped on the entire team anymore.
Slayer's Spear: Didn't really consider this a problem, though in retrospect it was comparable to Vicious / Spear of Lightning due to the high +damage and fast recharge. In any case this was overnerfed, this skill is slag now.
Vicious Attack: Like the change, this was only really silly with massed GftE spam, longer recharge moderates the usage without destroying the skill.
Cruel Spear: I didn't think it was a problem, the condition on the Deep Wound is very significant - I thought the skill was a bit weaker than Eviscerate before, moreso now. On the other hand I'd probably run this on every Paragon I'd think of because all the other Paragon elites are so bad.
"Incoming!": Ok, so it's terrible now...was it too good before or something? Don't know where this change came from.
Overall I'm torn on what was done. On one hand, most of the real problem skills got this time around, and hard enough to break up Paragon madness in PvP. On the other hand...several skills that really weren't problems were hammered, and that worries me. Paragons, even right at release, had only a handfull of playable skills sitting atop a pile of garbage...as more of those skills get slagged, the Paragon is quickly turning into a graveyard of weak skills. Paragons don't have a single elite that I really want to use in any facet of the game anymore, and that's pretty distressing. Sure, most of the high points have been hit, but the profession needs *buffs* to all these underpowered skills *badly*.
Peace,
